  1. You're confused because you're not understanding what I'm typing. We've developed 2 starters and a part time starter at QB in 50 years. Therefore, it's unlikely that our current backup will develop into a starter, especially considering he got like 6 plays of CFL experience in total. It's very likely that he will struggle like most inexperienced QB's if we need to use him. BTW: Unlikely, doesn't mean it can never happen. I don't mind the idea of developing a rookie kicker. I mind the idea of giving our rookie kicker the job without having to earn it by beating out a vet kicker and that doesn't just apply to kickers. Every player should have to earn their place on the team. I guess you haven't been understanding what I've been saying, so I have to say it again (Sorry to everyone else who does understand): We were a 4th overall team, 3rd in the West. We made a great trade for a QB at the last minute of the trade deadline. We had a wonderful playoff run that got us the cup. Our GC win was more like Calgary's cup when they came from 3rd in the West to beat us all those years ago. We got some luck and some bounces, but every team gets those. That's not gloom, doom, fluky or dismissive. It's what happened. I don't have to tell myself that we were a dominant team that was destined to win the cup to enjoy the win, which I very much did.
  2. Thanks for pointing out the 1 in a million that worked out. In the last 50 or so years, the Bombers brought in Brock who became a good starter, Danny Mac who became great starter for other teams and Streveler who became a part time starter. Anyone else I'm missing?
  3. Sure... Maher and Castillo. Both are known good vet CFL kickers and Lirim being in the spring league doesn't mean we couldn't make him an offer. He's playing for room and board right now.
  4. Sounds like a good idea to me. Cheers!
  5. Lirim Hajrullahu?
  6. Bring in a vet kicker? Anyway, I wasn't complaining about Walters or O'Shea, I was simply saying that losing Medlock is a big hole to fill.
  7. Replacing the best kicker in the league with a rookie is a huge downgrade whether you acknowledge it or not. Back to holding my breath on FG tries again.
  8. McGuire's thrown the ball 3 times, completed 2, for 17 yards. He also ran 3 times for 9 yards. No one has any idea if he's any good or not yet. If we are forced to start him, my guess is he'll lose way more than he'll win. As for Danny Mac knowing what's up, we've had 1 backup QB, Streveler, show something since he's Danny's been scouting for us. I think you have to go all the way back to Brock to find a starting QB that the Bombers found. BTW: I'm still hoping that Medlock signs with us. If not, that's another potentially huge problem.
  9. My concerns: We are betting that our oft injured QB will take us to the promised land again. Nichols and Strev started all but 4 games 'last' year and they're gone. We're likely hooped if Collaros goes down. Rookie OC taking over for PLAP. Rookie anythings make mistakes. Even if Pierce turns out to be a good one, it'll take a while before he gets there. DB's. I actually agree with Taylor on this one. Spits. Everyone will be gunning to beat the defending champs and will try to bring their A game against us.
  10. I'd rather we play Ottawa once and the Elks club twice instead of thrice.
  11. I got my jab early and I got into the lotto Vax too. It's stupid, but I'll take it if I get lucky. Don't get me started on the 1.3 BULL-Stuff pipeline crap.
  12. In Alberta, they're actually having a Lotto Vax to try and convince Covidiots to get vaccinated. Three 1 million dollar prizes available. Once we get to 80% vaccinated, I say let the Covidiots and Anti-vaxxer's get sick and possibly die. We spend way too much time and money trying to keep the stupid folks in the gene pool.
  13. Good news. Let's all hope it works out great.
  14. Hugely in favour too. 2 Shots + Mask is what should be done, but won't be.
  15. My worry is that politicians will open it up too soon yet again and we'll end up with yet another wave. Folks need both shots, not just one, especially for the newest variants. That being said, I think the vote this weekend will be to go ahead with an August start.
  16. I run the TSN app on my Android box. No casting, works through an HDMI cable.
  17. Damn... I was hoping for Ex-Kimos. I wonder if the Elks lodges will kick up a fuss.
  18. That's 70% partially (80% effective). With the Kenny government's track record on Covid restrictions, I'd take this announcement with several grains of salt. BC wants the CFL to hold off until late August to coincide with their reopening plans. Manitoba is tightening restrictions. Quebec wants to reopen late August. Ontario didn't give dates, but they want 70% to 80% of the population to have 1 dose and 25% to have 2 doses before step 3 kicks in. (They are at 42.14% partially and 2.92% fully vaccinated).
  19. We'll eventually get to herd immunity, but 70% if people get vaccinated then almost a third of the population is still unvaccinated. That's more than 10 million, mostly Covidiots, in Canada alone. That means it will stay around in pretty big numbers for years and it pisses me off because it doesn't need to happen. We could get to the 95+% mark if the Governments would simply tell people that they have to be vaccinated. They could make it mandatory to carry a vaccine card to get into any large scale event and to travel, even province to province, but they won't do it because popularity is more important to them than the safety of the population. FTR: Latest CDC data says 1 shot of Moderna or Pfizer is 80% effective and at least 1 fully vaccinated Manitoban has died of Covid.
  20. Saying it isn't proving it. Even if everyone in Manitoba over 12 who wants a vaccine gets one by June 9th, that's only one province, only one shot, and only 70-80% vaccinated. Will there be a vaccination card by June 9th too? If not, no proof of vaccination too. From May 14: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has promised that everyone who wants to can be fully vaccinated by September, this week spoke of a "one-dose summer" and a "two-dose fall" without explaining what that might look like. (https://www.reuters.com/world/canada-plots-course-fully-vaccinated-return-gatherings-fall-2021-05-14/) 4% of the adult population in Canada is fully vaccinated. (https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/vaccination-coverage/) 47.8% of Manitoba +12's have 1 vaccination as of today. (https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/vaccine/index.html) I doubt that doubles in the next 3 weeks. Fully immunized in Manitoba = 7.1% as of May 20. No way that goes up to 75-80% in 3 weeks. That's what 'proof' looks like. Data, supported by sources.
  21. I don't think we are through with the pandemic at all. The Covidiots will keep it going way longer than it needs to. The current vaccines will protect folks against the current strain(s), but we'll likely need to get a yearly vaccination to keep it at bay. We don't know how long the current vaccine will keep us safe especially when we are ignoring the science when it comes to time between doses. Trudeau, the younger, is still talking about everyone will be vaccinated by the end of September. In political talk, that's one shot. In reality, it take two to get above 70-80% protected. Add in the 20% who won't get vaccinated at all, and we're in this for a long time IMO. The idea that we'll all get back to the same normal as we used to have is based on hopes and dreams. We'll get back to a new normal with vaccine cards to get into places and to travel and a yearly outbreak that will mostly replace the flu outbreaks. The 3.4 million deaths worldwide including the 25,000 Canadian families who've lost a loved one will never forget this once in a hundred year pandemic. It's scar will remain for a generation or more.
  22. They didn't approve fans for Oilers games.
  23. Alberta government has not issued official approval of CFL return-to-play protocols - https://3downnation.com/2021/05/19/alberta-government-has-not-issued-official-approval-of-cfl-return-to-play-protocols/ That leaves Winnipeg and Regina. Hard to see how that works for the CFL.
  24. Honestly, no and I've had season tickets in both Calgary and Vancouver.
  25. I think you're looking for something that isn't there and finding it.
