I feel bad for Rob Bagg. You've got to admire all the comebacks he's made, and each time he's come back he's played at a high level.
Saskatchewan 2013 looks like Blue Bombers 2011 -- they started like a house on fire, but they have some structural deficiencies.
My preseason prediction of 3rd in the West, maybe second, might still happen.

I thought Neiswander moved the ball pretty well...but we'll see how he does after teams have made adjustments for him.
Were you watching on French TV RDS, because things always seem to move better in a foreign language.
I thought the short, quick passes saved his bacon because if he had to scramble or look downfield, he was in trouble.
Balls were thrown all over the place. Even Sask. defenders couldn't get them.
But when you don't play, it shows. (like we know anything about that)
I don't see anything wrong with quick, short passes when a QB is thrown into his first game like that.

That's the kind of thing you could always appreciate about Dave Ritchie. First and foremost, he DID NOT give up any points.]

Horrible game. Total snooze fest except for a few minutes in the fourth quarter. The Riders look very beatable

at least our backup qbs aren't as bad as montreals.... low bar?
Gotta hand it to S.J. Green...guy is a big time football player...busting his ass for a young QB out there

Was that some actual run blocking I just saw?
Don't see much of that in Bomberland anymore...

And u believe #10 is worth another teams starting QB because?
In my classroom...that's what we call a Captain Obvious question.

Watching the secondary closely when the play was in front of me, most of the breakdowns appear to be on C Muamba. He takes a very deep drop (essentially taking himself out of the play) and is always 3 or 4 yards late. He's covering turf (a general problem for this secondary in zone) and not covering receivers or playing the ball because he's worried about getting beat deep. He doesn't have a clue. The most useful thing he's done this season is blitz. We'd almost be better off dropping another guy in the box and sending extra rushers in a zone blitz to disrupt the QB's timing than having C Muamba playing DEEP safety.
The same 7 yard pass to the inside slot on a hook was there every first down. Hamilton must have run that play 15 times successfully. If we're going to suck we could at least be a bit of a speed bump. Hard to imagine the same guys were responsible for the 2011 defence, it is like they've lost 50 IQ points each since then.
The 2011 Defense was built on the secondary being able to cover man to man effectively. What the cuss happened to that unit?

Does last nite mean this thread gets to continue for another week?
Have we become suckers for punishment?

if and only if... Walter sees that the Bombers will have problem extending Muamba... would it be wise to trade him for a Ray, a Lulay or a Burris ?
I would trade him for Ray or Lulay even if he'd signed a 5 year contract. That's not even a question.

A good ale...usually Guiness. Bud is my 'everyday' beer

Hope he doesn't have an ingrown toenail...from stubbing it at night...

Why would Mack have prevented it? SportsNet reports Hall to start. SportsNet also reported Crowton went to Mack to get him to force Burke to start Goltz.
Why would Miller demand it right after he was hired? I guess it's all just a gong show, period.

More developed, more polished, Goltz still struggles with the basics, like foot work and getting his shoulders around when he throws.
Not that I disagree, but the same things have been said various QB's when they first came to the league. Durant, Calvillo, Glenn, Tate, etc.

I'll take that with a grain of salt...
The whole shaker

I think one question that no one has asked (or at least not that I have seen) - are we keeping Ken Moll? That's the key guy in our US scouting. We lose him and we are back to the Taman US scouting method (not his fault, he had no budget for scouting) - walking into the dressing room and asking "hey any of you guys know any runningbacks looking for work? I'll give you $50 a lead".
I'm hoping Moll finds some more American OL...soon...
-
Miller and Burke should work well together: both straight shooters who don't take any nonsense.
Except when it comes to elephant in the room...a certain oft injured ineffective starting QB...
-
He should get rid of Burke before anyone.
Can Burke if wants to start Buck again, period.
-
Yup.
Wade Miller looking like he is the new CEO.
Bulbuck just announced it. Wade is new acting CEO "with a clear mandate to do what he does best"
Clear mandate eh...we'll see about that...
Goltz should be the starter

He did, but Goltz played against BC and Calgary. And Morley the pylon was still in @ right guard.
