  1. Maybe Danny wasn't the problem in Montreal.

The saddest thing about this is if Toronto does indeed win this game, the Bombers are only 1 win away from 2nd place in the East.

Well, someone must have evaluated Calvillo and decided to play him one more season. Ditto their OL.

The Als looked like they were playing preseason game...but no one told the Argos not to blitz.

    :P

  2. Bring in some import offensive linemen. I realize a Canadian like Morley is harder to replace, but I utterly fail to see why Boatman couldn't be pushed.

Remember when we used to bring in guys like Garrick Jones and Eric Wilson? The trenches got a huge boost.

In fact, I think starting a third American OL should be floated as a possibility (it's not impossible)

I thought the one thing this team had was a good scouting network...

  3. I just don't think that after one year of being an OC he would be ready to turn this mess around. He didn't develop the schemes/plays while he was here, he just called them.

Don't get me wrong though, I think he'd be an improvement over Crowton, I just want someone more established to be OC here. I think we need someone who has a lot of experience and has a proven track record to turn this mess around.

If a guy like Lapolice cant turn our Offense around, who ran a fine offence in Sask, why would Khari be able too?

If we had hired an offensive head Coach, like Dave Dickenson, or Doug Berry, Someone he could bounce Ideas off of, I certainly would be more comfortable hiring Khari as OC.

Good points. Remember when we beat Hamilton in the 2011 East final? Hootie made some interesting posts afterwards.  He said Khari KNEW that he didn't have the offensive line to beat Winnipeg. It was true...our dominant front 7 (on a cold November day), shut them down and there was nothing they could do about it.

Given the limitations of the OL and receivers (which IMO is mostly inexperience), I wonder how much better another OC would be?

I think it will get better. First, Pierce couldn't sell the play action. Everyone knew he wouldn't run, so the option didn't work either. Goltz can at least do those two things to buy his OL a little breathing space. Not to mention getting rid of the ball quicker...

  4. People want change. They want Mack & Crowton gone & are losing patience with Tim Burke. They aren't happy with the way the team is managed or coached. What they don't want is for Goltz to play too well so Mack keeps his job or Crowton ends up staying. They take their frustrations out on Goltz because on the one hand they want the team to win but on the other, they know that a prolonged winning streaks mean these guys stay. A real conflict.

If the team starts winning...why would anyone have a problem with them staying?

  5. So, now we know His Royal Majesty His Royal Highness Anthony Calvillo can't handle losing. He should grow a set & be a leader. Nope, to me he's being a punk. Character really comes to play when you're losing. Easy to be a winner.

It's not just losing and you bloody well know it. He went from running a high octane attack to literally getting killed on the field.

  6. I used to have a lot of respect for Calvillo. But this season he's been acting like a punk. He did throw his coaches under the bus. Now he has Jim Popp. No improvement there.

I don't blame him at all. He went from having incredible protection to literally getting destroyed on the field. At times its been obvious that he was taking matter into his own hands and calling his old plays, then offense looked good for a while. Heck, even Payton Manning whines when he gets hit too much.
