  1. No flaming needed, it serves no purpose whatsoever. Just some clarification: With the conservative second half, Harris on the sidelines, etc. I doubt Nichols gets even 200 yards. Which is why I extrapolated his first half numbers and conclude 250 - 300 yards. For Streveler, this game was experience and playing time, no more, no less. The coaches can take the game plan into account when they evaluate him, we can’t.
  2. He came here to continue doing that, 31 - 0 wins and a 4 game win streak included. People got annoyed and began to react.
  3. About Matt Nichols: 1. Management has not exactly done the best job of recruiting import receivers - that’s not on him. His favourite target is Dressler, who is older and injury prone. 2. He has the best all around runnning back in the league, so of course that will naturally lead to him playing a lesser role. 3. Has he played better? Of course he has - I have not read any post anywhere that denied that. 4. He’s clearly been battling an injury, but appears to be trending up at just the right time. 5. Streveler this past game: 3 of 5 for 47 yards - I’m beginning to wonder which game some of you were watching. 6. Around 250 yards passing with an outstanding OL & RB, added to the way the D has been playing of late, looks very good right now.
  4. And in the Edm and SK games, they showed the ability to IMPOSE THEIR WILL on an offence.
  5. True, but we don’t know how much of that was scheme related. There was no reason to run an aggressive O in the second half. Safe throws, feed the backs, etc.
  6. His numbers were mostly from the first half, because in the second half they were using the running game and playing very conservative. For the fourth quarter, he wasn’t even playing. So, for his 155 passing yards to be meaningful, you have to extrapolate them over the entire game. 155 x 2 = 310
  7. That’s pretty funny, considering where he works...
  8. Agreed - all around improvement has allowed some of the young talent to emerge. I suppose people will still knock the team’s scouting and often rightfully so, but they certainly find some good DBs.
  9. I would say better play from the secondary has allowed the blitzes to be more effective. Two guys in particular have got their A game back: Loffler is looking more like he did two years ago, and Randall is back to being a shut down corner. Then you add a monster named Bighill and you get what we saw yesterday.
  10. Well, apparently even suggesting it is idiotic.
  11. So it’s not that Lapo doesn’t want solid deep threats in his O - thank you.
  12. You are revising history to suit your argument - Milt Stegall & Arlan Bruce were targeted deep plenty, and with success.
  13. The PC brigade is mostly (but not always) a myth. When it truly matters, a spade is a spade. Eg. Gomeshi getting fired from the CBC.
  14. In recent history, the two first place teams have made it to the cup. Who was the last third place team to win a Grey Cup?
  15. Things have definitely changed then. I spent 8 weeks in the U.K. over a decade ago - Canada was Toronto and Vancouver to almost every person you met.
  16. Seems like Lulay plans to die on the field some day.
  17. Well heck, he’s used to playing for teams that can’t provide protection.
  18. Thanks for irrelevant info - what he wrote is exactly what happened.
  19. I just remember watching a game at Sky Dome where he was very effective - particularly at running short slants and picking up good yardage every time. Harris has so many roles - it would be nice to spread it out a little more.
  20. They may not. But with the correct call, they win today.
  21. The Esks or BC will probably crossover - the East will make short work of them.
