  1. What are the alternatives? If they put an American at safety, can they rotate Canadians on the DL to make the ratio work? Either Thomas or Kongbo would have to be on the field for every defensive snap. I'm very sure they can't / won't put a Canadian at either offensive tackle position. We're already seeing the results of Hardrick playing hurt at that position. The final, and in my opinion the most likely option, is starting another Canadian receiver. Demski, Petermann, Wolitarski, Harris, Augustine, are their options at receivers and RB. That means 4 out of those 5 have to be on the field, leaving depth razor thin. So, what are the alternatives? An improvement at safety very likely means a loss at another position.
  2. People in hell want ice cubes...but they don't get any now do they...
  3. Really? The pass rush was largely neutralized by Hamilton’s max protect scheme. DL was not a big factor in the game - Evans had ample time to throw.
  4. Tons of iPad study and lecturing by Hall on the sideline.
  5. Hammy using max protect. Coverage needs to step it up.
  6. Gender bias at the gate. My water bottle was dumped, wife’s was not.
  7. I don't enjoy passing on debt at all. But other than Chretien / Martin, can you name a federal government that actually had a balanced budget? I mean, not every government was in power during a financial crisis - you should be able find one somewhere that was in the black for their tenure, should you not? Just saying 'it would have been balanced' is not giving evidence.
  8. Do you know for a fact that he received a signing bonus? I just read the article. He did have insurance but it ran out and was not enough to cover everything, plus there were rehab costs.
  9. No one is writing excuses because no one knows how he budgeted. If he made 100K as DB in the CFL, that's $75 000 - $80 000 American, give or take, depending on the exchange. Right now it would be $75 000. After that, you have income tax and living expenses while playing up here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he only took $60 000 - $65 000 American back home with him. I have no idea how much of that he would have had to budget, in order to get decent medical insurance. I think it averages over $20 000 per family, unless it's subsidized. He did not take 500K or 700K back to Rock Hill, North Carolina. And there are some things in life that you just can't plan for.
  10. When you’re not making millions, those suits they have to wear also add up.
  11. The average wage in Canada is around $50 000. According to what some of you are saying, the average Canadian should be set for life in about 15 years - large unexpected bills included. Sorry, your math does not add up.
  12. What’s a ‘string women?’
  13. Step 1 would be to have medical insurance in place for American players.
  14. I have been waiting for your take on this - thanks. It probably boils down to it being a tough sport where it is hard to play all out, all the time. If you feel you can coast your way to a win - why wouldn't you?
  15. I think just got a playground rebuttal... Let's look at the most recent Conservative regime, using the link you provided: Surplus years: + 25.3 Billion Deficit years: - 144.7 Billion Net (deficit): - 119.4 Billion The end result: if you're casting your vote based on how a government manages finances, hold you nose and pick your poison.
  16. The federal Conservatives have no track record of reducing the public debt.
  17. I think that's exactly what's going on. And I think some of the holding on the OL doesn't get called for the same reason.

  20. We have done the same in our Hutterite Colony. Maple, Linden, Green Ash, Balsam Poplar, Blue Spruce, Birch & various fruit trees. Our green ash have even spread seed into the nearby woods - ash are thriving amongst the wild poplar and oak. We also have a firm policy to leave the wild oaks standing as much as possible - they thrive in almost every yard.

  22. Meanwhile, VAJ throws one pick and goes right on playing duck and chuck into double and triple coverage. I'm sure KJ knew the risks, but he also knew what it would take to possibly win.
  23. Who's better? I mean other PBP guys yell louder but you can't beat Bob's concise description.
  24. Posey made several grabs in triple coverage.
  25. The blitzes from Bighill are beyond obvious - you can literally see the RB adjusting before the snap every time.
