WINNIPEG, MB., April 22, 2015 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has inked five players who recently attended the organization’s mini-camp in Bradenton, Florida. Receivers Lavon Downs and Jhomo Gordon, linebackers C.J. Wilson and Kenny Tate and running back Carlos Anderson have all been added to the club’s roster. All players are International’s. Downs (6-1, 190, Delta State, August 3, 1988, in Avon Park, Florida) played and started ten games as a senior in 2012, catching 44 passes for 550 yards and four touchdowns. Downs averaged 12.5 yards per catch that season. Gordon (6-1, 195, Bethune Cookman, November 10, 1993 in Palm Bay, Florida) played in 43 games at Bethune Cookman from 2011-2014, starting 23, and hauling in 63 receptions for 905 yards and seven touchdowns. He was the team’s leading receiver in 2014. Wilson (6-2, 205, Western Michigan, January 28, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois) spent four years at WMU, playing in 49 games, starting 45, and compiling 245 tackles and nine interceptions. C.J. Tate (6-4, 220, Maryland, May 15, 1990 in Forestville, Maryland) attended the club’s training camp in 2014 before being released in mid-June. Tate had an excellent five-year career at Maryland, where he played a variety of positions on defence and was a first-team all-ACC selection following a breakout junior season. That year, he recorded 100 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions while being a real force on defence. In the 2011 season, he racked up 35 tackles and two interceptions in the first four games, before suffering an injury. His senior season saw him record 42 tackles, 6.5 for loss, and four quarterback sacks, after missing the first three games. Tate played in two Bowl games during his tenure – the 2008 Humanitarian Bowl, and the 2010 Military Bowl. Anderson (5-8, 180, Northern Iowa, July 24, 1990, in Blue Springs, Missouri) spent four seasons at Northern Iowa, and was a First Team All MVFC in 2010. He played in 44 games, started 38, and finished with 2,345 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The club also released National receiver Kurt Goodrich.

Dude, you're reading way too much into that.Since you're a big shot with the Bombers, do you have inside info confirming Morley will be in training camp this year? I'd love to be wrong because I think Morley still has value, but I think my assumption based on Walters response is reasonable. Just simply speaking as a fan who was at the forum. Plus if I remember correctly, your question wasn't "Will Steve Morley be at camp?" it was more elongated with a statement about the new o-line acquisitions. Then I believe you made a statement about having to trim salary and gave Morley as an example of someone who could possibly be a casualty and wanted KW to confirm that for you.

If that does indeed happen, it'll be a big thumbs up from many CFL fans.

Well true because Im buying equity in my house (and paying interest). But the Bombers are making payments on a mortage for a property they dont own. I get your reasoning and the Bombers should live up to their obligations. I just dont think a public team should be spinning this in this way. Just give us the numbers. I think if they came and said we made X amount of revenue and even with making our full debt payment, we still only lost half a million which comes out of a strong reserve fund and we feel we are set up well for the future...you cant give me gravy and tell me it's jelly cause jelly isnt sweet. The Fan forum is tonight. Feel free to come and share your thoughts.

So thats what its all about... great if you know you are going to get a call on the play.so in the original clip Sanders is the only one who stays still....and I guess we'll never know if there was a flag for offside, but it doesn't make sense to me why you would remain in your stance. Is there some rule/reason in college ball that says this is the action plan? He remained in his stance because that's what the coaches at FSU taught in their system, but he clearly took it a little too literal In this particular play. There was no flag thrown for offside on this play. This video gives you a better idea of why it's done.

This... ...But also curious how he showed at the combine, where he was showcasing as a receiver, apparently... Here's how his numbers ranked against the 8 WR's: Bench: 2nd 40 yard: 9th Vertical: 7th Broad Jump: 8th 3 Cone: 3rd Shuttle: 5th So 9th out of 8? I guess he must have hit the snooze.

Didn't the NFL attempt to increase the distance on their converts last season?

When there hasn't been much Bomber news in the last while, this suddenly becomes a bigger story than it ultimately is.

Just remember that the real estate bubble has already burst in the US, and has yet to pop in Canada....but it inevitably will. Quite aware of this. Regardless, I was simply pointing out the extreme difference.

$200+k for a starter home in Winnipeg, or $200k for this: http://www.coldwellbankeratlanta.com/property/details/2163327/MLS-5377822/717-Southland-Pass-Stone-Mountain-GA-30087.aspx

You need to compare apples to apples when it comes to what is included, what type of building it is, how old the building is, what your parking is (outdoors/underground/covered/secure). Given what you described as being included it does seem to be reasonable to me. Having your water and heat included, that's convenient, but not necessarily best since you're not paying based on consumption. When you say heat, do you mean your total hydro bill, including electricity, or is that separate? In the end condo fees are supposed to cover the expenses of the building itself and other costs, and also allow for a reserve fund to slowly build up. You should be able to find out from your condo board if there is an adequate reserve developing for larger repairs, because if there isn't, then any major things will be billed to the tenants much like TUP mentioned above.

Another show that deserves accolades: Ray Donovan. Who's seen it? Brilliant cast, and in-depth writing. There are a lot of sub-storylines to follow, but it only makes the show that much better.

The Wire was a FANTASTIC show. It had its ups and downs like any series, but the storyline really was captivating and I loved the dialogue. Breaking Bad was better (even though it was great) watching it the second time to grab a lot of the idioms and symbolism. I'm a big Aaron Paul fan. The Walking Dead has incredible writing. The story line has been somewhat predictable so far, but I am thinking they are going in a bit of a different direction currently, and I like it. The character development is amazing. I skimmed through this thread and surprised there wasn't much (if any) mention of Homeland. Definitely a show worth making more mention of. Also, why no love for Entourage?

This is more of a local news story than a sports story. I'm not surprised nor disappointed that they're not covering it.

If Drew's agent is telling Drew to wait, he's not a very smart agent.

Kevin Glenn is ________.
-
I'll predict the QBs go to: Glenn - SSK LeFevour - HAM Brohm - BC Everything else is a wildcard.

To me, the CFL is driving the bus and the NFL is somewhere sitting in the middle. I'm probably of a rare breed that reads a lot more about the NFL during the season, than watching it on TV. Outside of about 65% of the playoff games, I will watch 2 maybe 3 games throughout the season. I can't say that I watch all the CFL games, but aside from the Bombers, I'll likely see 2/3 of the remaining games each week.

Two ex Bombers factor BIG in NFC championship game

Matthews got himself noticed by a lot of people last night. He should have every shot next season at working himself into the regular lineup. -
Bombers trade Cory Watson to Saskatchewan
TrueBlue replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Solid dude Watson was, and made some very outstanding plays for us. I hope he does well. That being said, his cycle of injuries and his age, played a factor in him being expendable. Traded to remove some salary, pick up some youth, and likely have more ammo for FA: absolutely brilliant. -
Surprised SJ didn't want to test FA to be honest.

Definitely seems like the Riders know what the future will be for some of their FAs already.
