  1. ^^ general discussion sub-forum, Terry. I'm not even sure which way I lean on this. I feel like it's ridiculous that someone who beheads a guy and eats parts of them could ever be released. But without fully understanding the finer points of mental health and what kind of effect it can have on people, I think it's impossible for me to say I take a 100% stance on either side of the fence.
  2. He chose to not take his meds? I didn't know that, I thought he was just undiagnosed prior to the crime.
  3. As long... Can you guarantee he'll stay on his meds? In 1988, I was a Unit Assistant at the Health Sciences Centre. I came on duty at 0600. I was assigned to the Emergency Dept for my shift. There was a guy in restraints tied to a bed down the hallway from the nursing station. He had come in a few hours earlier that night. He was schizophrenic. Apparently his dumb ass girlfriend convinced him he didn't need to take his meds anymore & now he was supposedly hearing voices & seeing things. He created a ruckus in Emergency & injured 2 security guards before he was overpowered & put into restraints. My job was to stay with him that room all by myself & make sure he wasn't able to do any more harm. I wanted the guy to sleep through my whole shift. Pretty scary scenario if he ever got out of his restraints. They were in the midst of transferring him to the Psych Ward at St Boniface Hospital when I came on duty. I watched him for about 4 hours before he was taken away. That was a schizophrenic who was off his meds & injured 2 security guards, one pretty severely who needed to be hospitalized. What if Li does the same thing & goes off his meds? At first I had a reaction similar to yours. But now I don't agree. He committed a horrible crime, but he was found not responsible. If he's found not responsible and by all accounts, he's been a model patient within the hospital and someone with a ton of remorse for what has happened ... I say as long as he's in care, he's welcome to certain freedoms.
  4. Kohlert goes to the WR spot problem solved. He played there last year.
  5. Maybe he wants to have more kids? lol his wife is actually pregnant again. Saw both of them at Buck's wedding social on Saturday.
  6. I'm sure he has a bright future ahead of him. He will make a road construction company very happy one day when they hire him as an orange cone.
  7. I'd rather drive a Ferrari than a Corolla.
  8. You really think Andrew Jones or Myddelton would be an improvement here? I don't.
  9. I'm not excited, because it doesn't necessarily mean we landed Wylie. Makes me a bit nervous, to be honest.
  10. Arland Bruce? No thank you. I'd love it from a nostalgia standpoint but other than that, I'm good.
  11. Same thing every time with you. Why aren't you ripping BC? They struck out on every player they wanted. Rip Saskatchewan for losing Sanders, Butler and Schmitt. Every time someone signs in this league, another team or more loess out. Get used to it. No team gets everybody they want. Rip Wally? Winningest coach in CFL history & uber successful GM? Walters & O'Shea only hope to win half as many games as Buono has the past 25 years. Sask built their team to win a GC at home & now they're up against the cap. Their 1 year gamble paid off. Somehow I knew you'd come after me even though everyone else kept the discussion civil. Why don't you just hit ignore if you find peoples comments not to your liking all the time? I won't miss you. You won't miss me. So,please, go ahead.. You're always getting PO'd about something. Not uncivil at it. Just suggesting you would benefit by tempering your expectations. The thing people often forget when free agency comes up is that the teams don't decide who they sign. The players do. It's not up to us. You could have a free agent that 6 teams want and they all handle everything properly with the negotations. He's still only going to sign one contract. The players decide where they sign, but the teams decide what they are offering. ISO's simply suggesting that we offer more, because we have to, to get more of the players we want. Personally, McCune isn't where I'd spend a lot. I'd save it for the Laurent sweepstakes, but ISO's point remains. To get players to ignore the 3-15 season and the rookie GM/HC and the poor O line and the first time starting QB, we are going to have to pay them more than other teams. And when we offer that, but they still elect to go somewhere else because of a million other factors -- compatibility with coaches, location, role on the team, etc -- then what? I agree with you and Iso when you say we need to offer more money. It's obvious that's what Walters thinks too because we outbid anybody on Nick Moore AND Craig Butler. But as you can see, it's just not all about the money.
  12. I posted it on Twitter yesterday through our site account and I plan to do the same thing every time he posts a new entry. CFL_News is a good account to spread the word too, they have over 10k followers.

  15. Cauchy + a 4th round pick to Ottawa for Kevin Glenn would make a lot of sense. They need depth behind Fraser.
  16. The "2012 highlights" video that was uploaded in December 2011. No doubt it's full of clips from the future.Yep saw your reply on twitter. You are definitely correct there. Gotta respect Bauming for trying to support a colleague though. I like Bauming. I like Bauming too. But it's just one more example of how much fact checking they go through as professionals. I just feel like fans in Winnipeg deserve a bit more responsibility from our writers.

  18. I'm well aware. That was also 4-5 years ago. And he wasn't much beyond average at it then.
  19. I'm still wondering why we re-signed Dan West. It's either a trade coming or the plan is to start 2 NI DBs, which I suggested might happen in a previous thread and got laughed at. ... It could be (and probably is) neither of those things. Newman, West, Bucknor, Muamba, Alexander and Sherman boils down to 6 guys under contract. I'm assuming you're counting Robertson as well. You could easily play 1 Canadian safety, 1 Canadian nickel (which is what my best guess is) and a backup on the 42. Practice roster another one, maybe two and there you go. Maybe they attempt to trade one, I'm sure they'd exhaust all those options before cutting a guy outright but there's no way I can see us starting 2 Canadians in the secondary when we have the import talent that we have there.
  20. I wouldn't expect to find any accurate or relevant scouting reports, this guy is 27 years old and hasn't played meaningful football in almost 7 years. I'm not even 100% convinced that he's signed a contract.
  21. lol it just annoys me. If you're going to steal information I've tweeted out hours ago, you could at least either a) give credit where credit is due or b ) get your facts straight. I wouldn't expect credit if I was posting it on my personal account, but posted on our website's Twitter? Come on now.
  22. Careful, you'll get blocked Seriously. Is this real life right now? How bad can a reporter be? Paul Wiecek @PaulWiecek 12m RB Travon Jones (5-8, 171), who played for Sacramento State in 2012, has tweeted the Bombers have invited him to training camp. #bn MorningBigBlue @MorningBigBlue 8m @PaulWiecek he hasn't played for Sac State since 2007, Paul Paul Wiecek @PaulWiecek 3m Check that earlier tweet -- RB Travon Jones played for Sacramento State in 2007, more recently with McPherson College in 2012. #bn MorningBigBlue @MorningBigBlue 1m @PaulWiecek He left McPherson in 2011, Paul
  23. Here comes the Winnipeg media to butcher the facts on this guy as usual. No investigative efforts whatsoever.
  24. If I had to guess regarding DI spots, I'd guess we use one on a guy who can be an offensive skill player / returner, one on a DL and one on a hybrid LB/DB type.
