Am I living in some kind of alternate universe where taking nearly 4 months to name a head coach is quick?

I hate Lawless with a burning passion. He hides behind his "I'm a columnist" line for everything. I'm not really sure how much he actually knows anything about the Bombers, or if he just purposely trolls since that seems to be the way of print journalism nowadays. I find that I dislike him a lot less during the offseason because he's too focused on the Jets. I'm sure I'll be enraged again come June.

I like guys like Darrin Bauming and Kirk Penton. I may not always agree with their opinions, but it's still obvious that they actually follow the team and have some pride in their work. Ed Tait and Bob Irving are in that category as well. I'd put Gary Lawless in a different category. I rarely agree with what he writes and I don't think he's a very good writer (blurs the lines between his job as a columnist and his job as a reporter far too often for my liking) but I still respect him because he puts in a good effort. He's just got a bit too much of an agenda for me. Guys like Jim Bender, Paul Wiecek and Paul Friesen are just horrible. A quick review of anything they've ever written about the Bombers makes it obvious that they have pretty much zero understanding of anything related to football.

I'd use that term loosely. He put his own spin on comments made in an interview with Buck and as usual, he was way off.

The Bombers were the FIRST team to talk to him, but the media doesn't have any fun if they report it that way. Walters and Buck spoke last week about a coaching position in person.

Why does Desjardins have to trade him right away? Why not be patient, hang onto him, and wait until some team has an injury or underperformance problem and gets desperate for a proven QB? Because until that happens, Glenn will be a huge distraction.

According to Dan Ralph, Kevin Glenn officially requested a trade from Ottawa recently. I'm expecting Winnipeg will be in on talks, but who knows how far they'll go. If I'm them, I'm offering Max Hall. Or Cauchy. Or both. Whatever. Take a pick too if you want.

I disagree that speed is not important. We often talk about QBs having 'zip' on the ball. It helps to prevent interceptions if you have some speed and accuracy, which it looks like Willy has. Hall is accurate but has no speed on his throws beyond 10-12 yards. Having speed on your throws doesn't make someone a good QB, but if can help. I guess what I should've said is that the FASTEST pass speed is meaningless. I agree you need to throw fast, as that article mentions, if you're under 54 mph you're basically given no chance in the NFL. Who throws the fastest is just a fun blurb stat, though.

Really like both of these signings. I knew about Gatling about a week ago but Leggett is another welcome addition - the year he won KC's ROTY award, he beat out two top 15 picks in that draft class (Glenn Dorsey and Branden Albert)

Pass speed is basically one of those meaningless statistics. Sure, you have to throw hard and fast to be any good. But looking through that list, it's a list of NFL nobodies other than Kaep. Interesting read though.

I don't like this new Ottawa franchise and it has nothing to do with Burris or Desjardins or anybody else in their football ops. It is 110% because some dummy decided it'd be a good idea to call them the Redblacks. And then if that wasn't bad enough, somebody else said "hey, you know what'd be cool? If we YELLED IT EVERYTIME!"

Or how about when Reese's made the size of peanut butter cups smaller and expected nobody to notice? I didn't notice. Then again, this thread makes it clear where my priorities lie.
