They considered the Falcons and Warriors as they have a hockey history in Winnipeg. He confirms they came up with the Bear image, but says it was more of just an exercise of picking a name off the board then seriously being considered. The Jets was always a strong contender, but it was when they got the permission from the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Department of National Defence to model the logo off of the ones on the RCAF planes that cemented the decision. Also says the fact that the fans really wanted the Jets name, played a large role as well.

I unfortunately fell down a flat earth worm hole a while back so have some info on their thought. Planes don't go high enough to see is the argument. Radar is rigged to make planes fly in circles to make the earth appear as a ball. Also the fact that planes fly with their noses up is proof that the earth is flat. If the earth were a ball like the "lies" that are spread, planes would fly with their noses pointed down, otherwise, they would fly right off the earth. Yes, that is some of the "logic" they spew. Basically after getting in deep enough of the youtube video, and you follow the dots, it comes down to a creationist argument. If the earth is flat, it doesn't rotate around the sun (the sun and the planets rotate around the top of the flat earth), and the earth can once again become the centre of the universe,.

What I found funny when reading the whole article is he had a go fund me page for his rocket that only raised a few hundred bucks. Then after suddenly declaring the flat earth theory reasonable, did a go fund me page for his rocket to prove it, and has now raised thousands. Smart bugger.

Not sure why you want to harp on Bluto so hard about this. As far as fans from other teams posting here, Bluto has always been one of the better ones and any back and forth has been IMO friendly banter on his part. And as far as support of the Argos go, why criticize Bluto about it when he is a Torontonian who actually supports the team. I have no time for trolls and people who come here for that sole purpose, but this board could be a better place if there was more commentary and opinions from fans of other teams. Their perspective can be interesting at times.
