  1. If I have to guess on this, there will be regular bus service to get to the games (though the city would still have to up their buses running to the stadium), which is why you pay. Then on the way home, it is free, so the Bombers pay for the charters. However, since they are only chartering home, they don't have to pay for the 3 hours of idle time during the game. They would only have to pay for whatever the minimum time is.
  2. I guess this is the backup plan... Are they still chartering buses?
  3. The T-Shirts have arrived today. Besides winning them as prizes in upcoming contests, if people are interested in purchasing one, we will sell them at cost for $20 (+ shipping if you live out of town). Also, if you feel so inclined, in the spirit of MBB being able to donate a pair of season tickets this year, we'd encourage you to make a small donation to your favourite charity as well. Here is an actual shot of the shirt. (Excuse the wrinkles, photography isn't my strong point ) They are a very nice soft comfortable cotton (90% cotton 10% polyester and pre-shrunk) . Was very happy with how they turned out.
  4. Michael Hutchinson now 52-15-3 combined between the 3 levels of hockey he has played in this year. Would like to see him get a legit chance with the Jets next year.
  5. City continuing to play games with the Bombers or just an oversight?
  6. Ice Caps win 5 - 0 tonight and advance to the Calder Cup finals. Congrats on the playoff run so far and good luck in the championship. Great experience for the Jets prospects.
  7. Apparently Chad is a fan of Walmart and McDonalds ... who knew?
  8. It has been announced today that Dave Randorf is moving to Sportsnet. Apparently he has always wanted to be more involved with hockey and with Sportsnet getting the NHL TV rights, he will get that opportunity over there. Any guesses on who will replace him on the CFL panel? Anyone that you would like to see from your wish list?
  9. There has been chatter on Twitter this morning from the media that the league may lock the players out before the season starts if a deal can't be had. This would be to pre-empt the players from striking right before the playoffs. Other tweets also mention that a majority voted to strike. Nothing official from the PA though.
  10. To the people who are complaining that the Bombers should have fully disclosed Wylie's arrangement. As was pointed out to me, from the start his position was labelled as overseeing the development of the O-line and not O-Line coach. They didn't really spell out what that means but to be fair the majority of Blue Bomber fans (outside of the hardcore) don't even know who the coaches are passed the head coach and possibly the coordinators. Don't have an issue myself with how they handled this.
  11. One day of camp and he needs to rest his body? Not a great sign.
  12. He is the O-Line coach. http://www.bluebombers.com/coaching-staff
  13. Looks like the practice has changed to 8:30 - 1PM tomorrow, with the second practice starting at 11:05AM. Will update the original post. So far the rest of the week looks to be the same.
  14. It basically works with your 3 designated imports. Your roster works like this: 3 QBs 19 imports 20 non-imports If you only start the minimum 7 Canadians, then out of the 24 starting spots you have: 1 QB 7 non-inports 16 imports The remaining 3 imports who don't start are called "Designated Imports" or DIs. The 3 DIs have to be declared on the roster. The DIs can only play special teams or replace one of the import starters. A Non-Import can go in for an import or non-import starter at anytime. Rather then looking at the rule as having to have 7 NIs starting, to track this efficiently and easily on the field, they just track that the DIs enter in substitution only for other imports.
  15. I rather enjoy the morning show and have never gotten the feeling that they "hurt each other's feelings". Wasn't happy when Jay was ousted. It felt very forced when Edmunds first started but they've grown some chemistry since. Won't put anything else on in the morning. The only time my car radio moves off of 1290 is for Bomber shows or when they air their syndicated crap.
  16. Interesting article on the CFLs latest release http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=453545&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  17. We have the schedule posted as well. http://morningbigblue.com/community/topic/3530-bomber-training-camp-schedule/#entry52083
  18. Has anyone been following the Ice Caps playoff run? They are up 3 - 1 in their conference finals. One win away from making it to the championship series. Interesting article here about scheduling issues if the Ice Caps and the Texas Stars were to meet in the finals. http://www.thetelegram.com/Sports/Hockey/2014-05-30/article-3743076/Caught-up-in-a-situation%3A-SJSE-says-it-cant-break-contract-to-address-potential-scheduling-issue-for-IceCaps/1 Would love for them to play a game or two here. They are already moving the team so can't really alienate the fan base further. They've likely already taken the ice out of the MTS center. Wonder if there are other contractual reasons that wouldn't let them play outside of St Johns.
  19. um... that's not how time works. seems like since we make fun of Flory's releases (rightly so) we ought to hold the league to the same standard. I think it was rejected by the PA in the morning so they sent it directly to the players after that in the afternoon. Either that or they built a flux capacitor and managed to harness 1.21 gigawatts.
  20. So the commish offer 1k to 3k bonuses if they sign the leagues offer. The CFLPA counters with 15k bonuses to all vets? Ridiculous. I hope the majority of the players show up anyway when camp opens. Players deserve a raise. But their asks have to be realistic for a league where half the teams lose money and where team have teetered off and on on the brink of bankruptcy for the last 20 years.
  21. No deal means current CBA remains in effect does it not. Unless the CFLPA calls for a strike vote prior to camps opening (which means shits gone REALLY BAD) camps will open with vets coming in Don't think so. I believe the players have said they wouldn't play without an agreement. That may change if the two sides are close.
  22. Just curious, by this rational if everyone stopped using the N word tomorrow, then in 20 years a pro sports team started up and called themselves that you would have no problem with it because it is a deprecated term?
