Even when the Jets go thru a down period this year, that should not influence wavering from the 'not going to settle' approach in trading Helle.

This is true, and I want Chevy to wait for the best possible deal, but he also has to consider the possibility of potential diminishing returns. The longer Helle sits, the more rusty he likely gets. GM’s might be a bit leery of acquiring a goalie that’s been on the shelf for months.

Really fair point. I guess it's all about mindset like most things in life.
Focus on the club and players who want to be here keeping the door open for Helle to return but until the right deal comes across the desk that's it and if this results in my asset diminishing because of the specific demands placed on me by this assett so be it. I'm willing to take that hit while focussing my energies on my current pool of players, depth and potential upgrades throughout the season.

I hate to admit it but it's been a long while since I've been so disinterested in a Bomber season.

Ugh. Yeah….. I saw this posted and just said, seriously? Why aren’t we bringing in any big imports that can win contested catches? A small, slow, Canadian? A must have apparently. Still trying to force feed a WR unit starting 3 Canucks?

Yager and He seem to be lighting it up in the AHL so far - looking forward to both of those guys getting a chance at some point this year. Youngblood coming into the lineup is the only way this team gets better. Relying on the old guard is a recipe for failure.

made the tackle...Not his fault he was tasked to cover the best qb/WR tandem in league....Thank god it was him out there or it prob would have been real ugly...Dude played damn good

Partway through the game I was thinking the same thing. That 4th line lacks a guy that will get to the puck first.
Nino looked bad. He didn't have his hands. Frequently mishandling the puck which is something he needs to do well to be effective. Maybe a 1st game thing. Didn't mind Vlad on the 4th line. Vlad, Koepke, Iafallo probably gives you enough speed and grit to be effective.
I had higher hopes for the 4th line. They looked out of place in today's NHL.

I don’t get why Koepke would be scratched. He was one of our most improved players last year. Good energy and speed.

Yup, he went from limited practice on Tuesday (hip issue) to not practicing at all on Thursday. Not too big a surprise but that doesn't make it any better.
