Agree we have very few standout stars. We’ve got a lot of good complementary pieces but lack big time playmakers. In some cases it’s talent and some cases it’s scheme. That’s the thing about the team this year, there’s not just one glaring need holding them back. There’s one problem or another at every position group besides RB. Coaching problems, talent not up to snuff, front office issues, injuries, poor roster use. Every factor that can make the wheels fall off is hitting us at once.

Depends what team. Maybe Randolph or Vanterpool on O for a team only missing one piece on their line. I’m sure BC for one would take Person, Wilson, Woodbey or J. Jones on D. Griffin would probably fit in somewhere too. Cam Lawson would probably do really well on a team with a 4 man front. I’m sure a couple our ST or developmental linebackers could improve coverage on another team (or maybe even take reps!), About the one thing we have this year that’s top-tier is the kick/punt coverage.

Maybe 2024? I’m pretty sure this preseason he might have thrown one pass over 10 yards. I mean, I’d hope you’re right, obviously I want any Bomber QB to do well. -

I don’t want to write him off fully. I just don’t think he’s fully recovered from last years injury. Something just seems off. Agree OL is the biggest problem. -

From the same report “Wilson’s deep accuracy is a concern. Meanwhile, in the short and intermediate ranges, he sometimes misses high due to varying release points. Among other things, Wilson doesn’t quite have the upper-echelon arm talent to fit passes into tight windows downfield.” -

When I‘m frustrated during games I want to see what our backup QBs can do (like most fans) I‘m not sure Wilson is the answer though honestly. He can run for sure. If you watch his highlights from college, he predominantly threw from the pocket, and they mostly ran a wide spread with a lot of dump offs/screens. I’m not sure he has the arm strength for the CFL intermediate-deep game. If he can throw on the run (which I don’t know one way or another) he could have success running something like we saw in the Montreal game earlier this year. I also don’t think we have the OL to run a pure drop back offence for any QB. At the very least, he needs to take over the SY set permanently, healthy Zach or not. -

You figure Houston would come on for Vaval? He played that side when he was here before but I’m not sold on Lawson Jr either. Vaval seems like more of a liability right now, and I feel like Hamilton would exploit him, or he’d take a bad PI. Agree Griffin at sam would be ideal, with Kramdi at S and Allen/Woodbey rotating on for certain looks. -
Point taken about Demski, he’s gone above and beyond this year. Definitely not weak. I still don’t think he compares to some of the other WR1’s in the league however. We don’t have a Coxie/Lawler/Hatcher type that teams have to gameplan around. Zach I’d argue has been hit or miss. One great game (Edmonton) , 2 very good ones (Labour Day, Montreal) rest has been mid (@BC game, 1st half of the second game @Cgy) to poor (1st game @cgy, Banjo Bowl, second half of the 2nd game @cgy, TO game before coming out, Cgy home game before the injury). For an MOP salary, he’s being outperformed by at least 4 other QB’s making less than him (Harris, Adams, BLM, Arbuckle) I understand there are more factors at play and agree the supporting cast is not good enough. For the defence, I think my point remains solid. There’s a lack of playmaking there.

Have you seen our DB’s? We’re ****** against Hamilton and any other team who can hit deep shots. -

I’ve been as big of a Strev supporter as there is on these forums, but if whatever’s still going on with his knee/lower body doesn’t recover I’d say the odds are pretty high. Since coming back from the last injury he can’t seem to throw with any velocity, just using his shoulder to throw and doesn’t look like he can put anything into it when he plants. -
O- Kolo and the 2 boundary side receivers. (HM Neufeld- love the guy but he’s just too far past it) Kolo plays half the game on his ass, and completely lost in the second level most of the time. Granted our concepts might be kind of shitty but the boundary side guys just can’t figure out how to get open. Wheatfall is a poor man’s Chris Brazzell. One good game then disappears for 3. Mitchell more of the same, except the invisibility starts after one good play. Corcoran’s worse when he starts. None of them can figure out how to come back to the football on a scramble. D- Thomas, Vaval, Vaughters Thomas we’ve discussed forever. Vaughters makes maybe 1 play a game. Not consistent enough at all rushing the passer and terrible in the run game. Vaval is either getting burned or committing PI. He’s shown some really good flashes as a returner though. Great athlete, just not ready for prime time. I think just as much of an issue is who our 3 best are on O and D. Besides Brady, our “top” guys are extremely weak compared to the rest of the league.

Turds 1. Everyone. You get swept by the Riders, everyone’s a turd. Honourable mentions- Demski I guess. Dishonourable mentions- Both lines, MOS, Walters.
-
Pathetic. It’s time to clean house this offseason. They’ve ****** it all up.
-
Vaval needs to start turning his head or he’s going to take one of those every single game
-
Cool, now we get to watch Sask drive 109 yards. Sergio needs to make those kicks.
-
I’m not sure how good or bad Terry Wilson would be but at this point does anyone think he’d be less effective than Strev?
-
Why is Vaval dancing around after breaking up a pass on first down when the other team just drove down the field?
-
We’re playing DL like it’s schoolyard where you have to count 5 steamboats before you rush the Quarterback
-
This pathetic excuse of a pass rush isn’t going to beat anybody
-
That’s textbook helmet to helmet
-
It’s beyond dumb imo. Guys trotting out injured in the 23 GC was dumb. Zach playing with half his finger torn off was even dumber. This time it’s past dumb, this was morally wrong.
-
There was so much that could have been done to avoid it, but at this point I’m afraid you may be right. The core of the team was alower to all age out at the same time and coaching/management have made too many boneheaded decisions over the past 2+ years. Out of the guys we currently have, who can you rebuild/reload a team around starting in 26? QB- Zach is 37, Strev is pretty much done. We have no idea about Wilson but Inhave my doubts, no idea about Artopeous. No idea if Elgersma will ever come here. RB- Brady is still in his prime. Peterson is a solid backup. We’re pretty good here WR- Demski is playing very well but getting up there in age age, and pretty beat up, probably doesn’t have a lot of years left. Pokey is a keeper, Clercius is a keeper. Wheatfall is solid but not special. Everyone else is borderline useless. OL- Wallace with some seasoning will be a keeper, Bryant is old. Vanterpool and Randolph are keepers. DL- Willie is on the downside of his career, though he’s one of my all Time favourite Bombers and a surefire HOFer. Vaughters is washed. Woods needs to start a number of games to see if he’s worth keeping. Adams is decent but not great. Thomas and Kornelson, we all know. LB- Woodbey is promising but we’ve only seen 1 game. The rookie Canadians are promising but completely untested. Tony Jones is mediocre, Wilson is old. J. Jones never sees the field but should be a keeper based off how he played for TO. DB- Griffin is a keeper. Allen is a maybe. Vaval is a maybe. Holm is pushing 30. Nichols is aging rapidly. Others are mediocre at best. ST- Sergio is very good, Sheehan has improved. Leaves us with maybe 7-8 skill players worth moving forward with on both sides combined. 2-3 OL. 1-2 DL. I’m pretty sure we need a full scale rebuild at this point, the cupboards are pretty bare.

The way they handled the situation with Schoen is a black mark on the whole franchise. Rushing him back for the start of this season, then rushing him back after a month with a known (second-time) torn ACL is inexcusable. Someone needs to legit lose their job for that. -
That sucks. He was just starting to come into his own. I hope this means by unfortunate means their hand is forced into de-nationalizing the DT spot.

Good. I’d guess Schoen gets more time to recover, Wilson takes the boundary wideout spot and Wheatfall moves into the slot?
