  1. I’d be fine with Cole getting a shot to play in the middle. He can go sideline to sideline, and tackle RB’s consistently. Maybe Gauthier on obvious running plays. Could we use Cole to fill a gap like Biggie does? No, but I think his skill set would more than make up for it in other areas. You don’t need a 235 pound MLB in on every down anymore.
  2. I like Allen but I couldn’t put him in my top 10 From just QB’s in the last 30 years, I’d take any of Flutie, Ray, Garcia, AC, Ham, BLM in his prime, Danny Mac, Garcia, Dunnigan or Collaros over Damon Allen. That’s not counting guys I’ve only seen play after the fact like Moon or Clements.
  3. Guys, I love Bighill. He’s been an all-timer here. It’s time to replace him now, it just is. Financially, and on-field it’s time. He could be 48 years old and some posters here would still think he can provide valuable reps. At a certain point, successful clubs move on.
  4. If the Argos and to a lesser extent BC have ever had a salary cap, it’s news to me Honestly, the Jeffs broke his career in the 2019 GC. It’s just been a matter of time since then.
  5. They key is the front office finding a glut of 26-27 year old guys for TC to push out some of the deadwood. Players who have had enough time as NFL TCF/PR or a bit of time with other CFL clubs. Those are the only kind of new guys he ever puts on the roster in time to do anything meaningful in a season. Last 2 TC’s we’ve seen more 22-25 year old players being brought in. Even NI’s we draft, O’Shea seems really adverse to starting when they’re under 25-26. Rudy stories on the other hand… 23 year old DT from Florida State or something, nope. Then a guy like Jackson would have to take a piss on the 55 to get taken off. It’s not like that makes Osh a bad coach. That glass is more than half full, I’m saying his veteran bias and maybe being a bit too much of a stickler for “paying your dues” is maybe what keeps the water from being up to the brim so to speak.
  6. One of the biggest potential FA’s locked up. Nice early Christmas gift. I still say he’s the best DB in the league.
  7. That’s what my gitch are most twisted about this off-season for sure
  8. Rourke would have to A: Start at least the last 2 games this year, and B: play well enough to save Belichicks job. With the Pats being as ass as they are, I don’t see either happening. Rourke will be the latest example of how NFL politics can screw over extremely talented players. Unfortunately for him, I think his only chance to be a star is in Canada.
  9. Why would you pass up a 5 year deal at any salary to go to Sask of all places? Probably the least secure football job in Canada right now, besides maybe Ottawa.
  10. Guys, it’s Michael Ball. I wouldn’t even bother speculating over it. He’s going to the VI Raiders.
  11. Yeah, 27 and already had a bunch of NFL looks. Fits the bill perfectly. O’Shea prefers CFL rookies that aren’t true rookies.
  12. With all this rocket ship talk, Mosaic/IGF west has a new name… The Cock Pit.
  13. Agreed mostly. I’d have no interest in anyone at that age really, it’s not that stage of building anymore. The only scenario I’d be ok with Laurent is if Thomas retires and they couldn’t find anyone at ALL in the draft. I’d take Laurent on the cheap over a guy like Shmeckel, that’s it though.
  14. Oh don’t get me wrong, Malveaux was just immature, he had some great years here. Anderson was just a POS through and through.
  15. I don’t get the love for Milanovich. He won a cup in 2012 with a store bought team. Done zip since then. With Hervey as GM too, I see rough times ahead for them.
  16. No, I’m thinking of Malveaux in Calgary. Pulling out the sharpie and signing the ball after a “pick” that ended up being ruled a Stegall TD on a simultaneous catch. That would have been in 2002 iirc. Dwight Anderson played a little later 07 I’m pretty sure was his first season. He never grew up, ended up on the Riders for his last few years. Starting fights, conduct penalties til the very end.
  17. Kelly Malveaux yeah. He was a clown with Calgary. Grew up and had some very good seasons here and in Montreal. They also had Clint Kent (also dreadlocked) around the same time.
  18. Agree with the point about redzone turnovers. The critical blown coverages probably wouldn’t have happened with Rose on the field. The season-long roster management issues did cost us big time. I’d give equal weight to both as factors in the loss.
  19. After reading more about Oakman, count me out too. It’s a nice thought to have a DT that size, but he’s over 30 with a bunch of off-field issues. They still need to find a proper nose tackle, big time. Most likely will have to to be a rookie deal. Find a massive every down DT from the states and rotate Walker and all the other 3 tech guys in the other spot. Of course it would all be easier to set up if Osh would use the bloody Nationalized American rule.
