I think his potential at corner will be more important next year with the rule changes. Kicks are going to be going through the end all the time and the missed FG returns are basically gone.

Problem is they pissed around with Moxey at that spot when it was evident he should have been benched after the first 2 games. The time to let guys develop is June and July. Same with Singer and Texada. If Smith, Vaval, Texada and Singer were starting by say week 3, we’d be fighting for 1st or 2nd. Probably would have been done in by the interior OL and Condell’s ineptitude at some point either way, but still in much better shape.

There was a gradual decline starting from 22-24 for sure but the big thing to me was how they spent the 2024-25 offseason jacking off. Still haven’t been able to catch up. Now the team is a mess with massive holes all over the roster and the second worst coaching staff in the league after Ottawa (and that might be arguable at this point)

Might be too late for a run but yeah with those two on the field at the same time and rotating 8 DL it will be the best defensive group we’ve had all year. They really needed that last game against the Argos.

Coaching and a really crappy FG miss on the first drive ended up being the difference. Really though this teams fate was sealed by another badly mismanaged offseason. Retaining a bunch of old or sub par OL, not addressing the lack of WR talent until Labour Day, hiring Condell, mismanaging the ratio and the roster, trading up to draft a useless TE. Just one mistake after another. Drafting one good player in the starting lineup over 3 years (Smith). In the same 3 years scouting has brought us a couple of good DBs, a short yardage QB, and one decent WR. Just too many bad decisions. Can’t be contenders with that.

This team just doesn’t have it. D is sort of getting it together but the offence they run absolutely sucks. Condell needs to go yesterday.
