Deiter Fan reacted to Booch in Permission to talk: Is O'Shea leaving?
Yeah...just this past season shouldn't have been the indicator for them to perk up and realize..."wow...we have issues" this been almost 4 yrs in making...hence the little faith in Osh turning it around unless he was re-upped with extreme conditions and if the same ol same ol is occurring then best get yiur cardboard boxes ready to pack up your crap
Actually...Ford would have stayed and not for as much as edm gave...but a significant bump none the less
We just basically gave in and accepted he would leave..and really good thing as we are severely overpaying in our secondary as it was...like almost 600k into Nichols...Holm...Kramdi is crippling as it is and poor use of sms and assets...bad roster management
We would have been just as good if not better with paying Nichols and replacing Holm and Kramdi...Kramdi isnt even needed as a ratio piece...we pay huge for him and cause Osh loves the Canadian/underdog...If Kramdi was an import...he would not be starting based on what he offers...and i don't see another team in the league that would dump their sam for him and his price tag...its things like that which all add up to our roster and depth dysfunction...and its Osh induced...
Thomas and Kolo gobbling up prob 300k between them for their pathetic performance...but they Osh's bois and we tied to them...hopefully that's a "were " tied to them

Yeah, really the kick in the ass should have been after last year. The 24-25 offseason was the worst of this era.
They’d better get busy quick now, can’t afford to fumble **** around until February again.

I don't know, man...if losing three Grey Cups in a row with a chance to turn it around on the fourth...at home...isn't enough of a kick in the ass/motivator I don't know what is.

The way I see it MOS is likely a really good guy. He's probably an excellent friend, a great father and husband and loyal to his players. If you see the game and the process in the same way he does my sense is he would go to the wall for you. Unfortunately I also get the sense he's more dedicated to the individual than the team.
On the one hand it's why players were so anxious and willing to play for him. I've used the analogy before but back in my school days often my most favourite teachers were the ones who expected the least from me. It seems like that's part of what's happening here, if you've earned his loyalty he won't bench you if you're playing poorly. He'll leave you in the rotation over and over again so long as you're making an effort even if you're coming up way short, he will be loyal to you.
As a human being I have a lotta respect for that. As the fan of a football team I can't help but wonder if it's conducive to winning. My perception is a man in that position needs to have a very acute sense of realism, bluntness and be a little cutthroat. He was able to get by without those attributes when he had a bunch of quality players but once it appeared as though some hard choices had to be made he didn't seem able to make them.
It's not true that people can't change but something a wise cousin said to me once is very true, "Think about how long it took that person to get like that. Well, that's probably how long it'll take them to change".
Time will tell if MOS can change or if he is provided more quality puzzle pieces so he doesn't have to.
Regardless I'll keep watching and hoping for the best.

Deiter Fan reacted to Tracker in Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
the past three years, the team has gotten worse each year (old news) and he has repeatedly hung onto fading players when they could no longer compete and sat out potentially better ones. This year was no surprise- it was predicted in this forum and was the culmination of what was begun three years ago.

Hey I'm not saying any of this is easy and I'm certainly not the guy you'd want to hire to fix things but it's not just about regression it's the way in which they're regressing. Poor coaching decisions, roster management, apparent poor scouting, complete lack of forethought given to preparing to replace ageing vets...and my goodness the complete lack of off-season moves to try and make a serious run for the Cup in a year you're hosting is not a good look.

Who is in charge of recruiting their imports? I don't think they've done very good there for a long time. They find some good players, but not enough. That is why they have to hang on to the old guys. No one is beating them out.

The only real impactful move they could have done differently in free agency 2025 is do what it takes to keep Lawler. The rest of the internal guys you're looking at guys at the end of the road moving on or all the JAGs sitting on Hamilton's IR. Really should have been planning for this Grey Cup coming out of 2023. Start rebuilding the lines, and really rebuilding them. Like basically start from scratch.
We seem to have real issues finding Americans other than DB's. Been 2-3 years with huge holes in receiving core. Have found one real CFL player in that crew when we've been easily 2-3 short for a couple seasons.
I think Jenkins could be a real special CFL edge rusher.
Name names.

It's the way this season unfolded. It was avoidable. I can take a losing season if we at least ried to improve this past off season. Instead we didn't do anything oher than signing Vaughters. That is inexcusable when we are a Grey Cup contending team & hosting the Grey Cup. For all the good Walters does now, he might as well live full time in Florida with McManus.

If six years ago they finished 10-8, lost out in the eastern semi then went on to make it to the next 5 Grey Cups, losing the 1st 3 then finishing off by winning the last two that's great. Reverse that scenario and it's a completely different situation. They are clearly regressing and trending downward. I'm not saying anyone's gonna be let go but let's not kid ourselves about the direction in which we're headed

The Bombers just set a record for consecutive home sellouts and a 10 win season.
As much as I agree that something has to change, this team is definitely trending in the wrong direction, don’t see it happening until they feel it at the gate.

The only redeeming things about this loss today are that it may finally trigger the badly needed organizational changes and (most importantly) it means there will no opportunity for the Riders (who are almost certain to win the West) to curb-stomp our team in the biggest game of the year in front of Bomber fans in their home stadium. That has to be worth something.
