  1. Randy's Innovation Season: https://torontosun.com/sports/football/cfl/cfl-blitz-commissioner-randy-ambrosie-says-league-is-game-for-innovation
  2. Yeah, Big Zach. I like that.
  3. It's a stupid decision which doesn't surprise me with Ambrosie running things. He's already ****** over most teams coaching & scouting bringing in a hard cap. The latest news I heard this week was Randy running his mouth again talking about renaming the pre season, "The Innovation Season" wanting to fool around with the clock during games & other marketing genius stuff during the Innovation Season. Playing his fiddle & telling everyone who'll listen how great everything is while the Halifax expansion flounder like a codfish out of water, the ownership situation in Montreal & BC languishes & the Argos franchise looks more like a rotten corpse everyday. And attendance plummets.
  4. The Gapper. If Claybrooks ends up in Saskatchewan.
  5. Wolitarsky is a wideout so he wouldn't be as involved as a slot. Listen, I hear you as he's being wasted. I think Woli moved inside would be a dynamite slot along with Streveler. Bailey or Lawler would be just as effective if not more than Drew is now. I also agree about LaPo.
  6. Was Norm Chow ever an assistant with Taaffe in Hamilton, Zontar?
  7. Claybrooks isn't a very good HC but he'll have a job as a DC somewhere. Then we'll see how he does calling defensive signals not being a part of the Stampeders. I doubt if he'll have the same success elsewhere than he did in Calgary.
  8. Red Robin's left Calgary 10 years ago. There used to be a restaurant about ten minutes from our house my wife & I frequented. When they say "leave Alberta", they mean leave Edmonton.
  9. I think Streveler would make a more dangerous slot than running back. With his size & toughness there's potentially a lot of YAC yards there. Brad Sinopoli made the successful move from qb to slot with the Stamps & now Ottawa.
  10. Forgot to mention that defensive back Larry Kerychuk was Don Jonas holder in 71 & both Jonas & McKee in 72. He retired after that season because of concussion issues.
  11. He ain't wrong.
  12. Now you can see how easy it was for Trudeau to buy journalists off. At least Bob Irving did the right thing. I can only imagine what jack Matheson would have said if he was alive today.
  13. I know with performances like that, it's a wonder soccer style kicking stayed around. I remember the debate at the time. That straight on kickers were more accurate but soccer style kickers had more range. Back in those days, there were a few high profile soccer style kickers that found success which spurred other younger kickers to take up that style of kicking. Pete Gogolak of the Giants. Jan Stenerud of the Chiefs, Roy Gerela of the Steelers & his brother Ted of the BC Lions. As kicking evolved & the science as well as the coaching improved to the point of where we are today. Today, it's hard to imagine a pro kicker that can't hit 40% of his kicks. As well as seeing straight on kickers.
  14. In 1974, Don Jonas was no longer doing any place kicking. Winnipegger Walt McKee was the kicker for the Bombers that season. The former University of Manitoba Bison was the first "soccer style" kicker to ever play for the Bombers which caused a big stir with fans & media at the time. He had a stronger leg than Jonas & for 2 years (in 72 & 73), then Head Coach Jim Spavital used both Jonas & McKee as kickers. Jonas was more accurate but didn't have the leg for longer kicks. Spavital would send McKee out for anything over 40-45 yards. McKee was also the punter & kickoff specialist in his time with the Bombers. In 1974 as the full time kicker, McKee did not have a great year making just 20 out of 28 converts & 15 of 35 field goal attempts. Wingback Bobby Kraemer would have been the holder that year as he held for Jonas from 1971 thru 73. The Blue Bombers released McKee after the 74 season. He was picked up by the Eskimos & used only as a punter as Dave Cutler was their ace kicker in 1975. In McKee's 3 seasons as a Blue Bomber his success rate as a kicker was a dreadful 39.1%. Be thankful for Justin Medlock everytime he puts one through the uprights. Bomber fans back then never experienced the accuracy of modern day kickers & would have marvelled at just how good they are today. It really is amazing when you look back at the numbers back then.
  15. Maybe get Noeller to do the pre game speech?
  16. We need to talk to MOS about getting you into the lineup for the WDSF.
  17. As mean as...
  18. The Story of George Jones. His struggle with drug addictions, alcoholism, four wives then put in straight jackets & committed to mental institutions more than once on both counts. Missed so many shows because of drugs & alcohol he was nicknamed "No Show Jones" & was sued for millions by angry promoters. From multi millionaire & fame to bankruptcy & homelessness. Then makes the huge comeback with He Stopped Loving Her Today in 1980. That is just unbelievable stuff.
  19. Yeah, life started in 2003. Jeezus.
  20. As well as being on a good team like the one we have now. Those 2014 & 15 teams were horrendous.
  21. No. Against the rules. The 2 qb rule has been around for a few years. Surprised more fans don't know about it.
  22. If O'Shea starts Streveler & keeps Collaros on the bench & we lose? Gonna be hell to pay. The way it should be is Collaros starts, Streveler comes in on short Yardage & goal line & stays in & has a package of plays he runs. Otherwise, the game is for Collaros to win.
  23. These players that wear their helmets loose like that are going to have a hard time proving negligence on their team's or helmet manufacturer when they were negligent themselves as players. I'd like to see all players tighten their helmets & think of their safety & what that means to their quality of life & their families in the future.
