  1. So Mark, what do you think? More or less threads? Mega thread or individual threads?
  2. If I win lottery this will be my ride. Yes, I can dream.
  3. Thanks for the kind words & props, TB4. I appreciate it. The Bombers are my passion & I love the historical factor of the team. I find it so interesting. When I saw your project last December I knew it was going to be a great off season.
  4. One thing I will say that both guys wouldn't have been satisfied to play together at qb for a decade. One would have eventually left. It worked out well for Ploen & the Bombers.
  5. Jim Van Pelt was drafted into the US military in 1960. Spent a 3 year hitch in the Air Force. When he got out the Bombers tried to re-sign him. He & his wife were the Bombers special guests at the 1962 Grey Cup in Toronto. Ultimately Van Pelt decided to turn down the Bomber contract offer & went into private business in Chicago. In 1959, Van Pelt separated his shoulder in the Western Final series & it was Ken Ploen who quarterbacked the Bombers to their Grey Cup win in 1959. Looking at the records though, he certainly was a great qb when he played. I agree that he should have been on the list & was a major oversight by all of us.
  6. Bart Starr legendary Packer quarterback passed away today at age 85. He won 5 NFL championships including back to back to back in 65, 66 & 67 & the first two Super Bowls. He was 85. He had suffered a stroke in 2014 & had been in failing health ever since. RIP Bart.
  7. So, with the season about to start maybe it's time to reopen the debate. Of course, we'll need a separate thread for that.
  8. My wife is an RN as well so I'm in good hands.
  9. This topic was discussed in earnest here as I recall & the general consensus was to go with two main threads in the off season as well as another two during the regular season Bomber & CFL News to keep the site from becoming cluttered. That is how members wanted it. There have been very few complaints until now. In order to change it, there would have to be some kind of a want or need to do it.
  10. You don't follow the Bomber for a living so no one will criticize you.
  11. Thanks TB4. Ya done good! I have some Happy Honker Awards to give out... To #29 Paul Williams, wingback, corner & KO Return Extraordinaire. Played for the Bombers from 1971-73. Thank you for your TD Dance. If anyone remembers the "Winnipeg Wiggle". To #35 Bob "Hoss" Houmard, fullback He played only one season for the Bombers in 1970. For being such a character guy. One of the toughest runners straight ahead runners I have ever seen. There wasn't a middle linebacker he didn't love to run over. He earned the nickname "Hoss", that's for sure. To #24 Ed Ulmer, cornerback & punter. Played for the Bombers from 1965 to 1971. For his booming 91 yard punt vs the BC Lions in September of 1969. I was sitting in the Salisbury House End Zone seats behind the south end zone so he punted the ball right in front of me. Well, he hit that football on its sweet spot & it took off like a rocket. Right over the heads of the frantically backpedalling Lions punt returners. To #32 Mark Bragagnolo, fullback. Played one season for the Bombers in 1980 For his clutch game winning 90 plus yard TD run in the 4th quarter on a muddy field at Canad Inns Stadium vs the Calgary Stampeders in the Western Conference Semi Final. Hit the whole then booked it to the end zone much to the chagrin of a stunned Stamps defense. To #10 Bernie Ruoff, kicker. Played for the Bombers from 1975 to 1979. For successfully kicking a 58 yard field goal on his very first attempt as a professional kicker vs the Stamps at McMahon Stadium in 1975 & for wearing his glasses & wristwatch when he kicked.
  12. Yeah, trading Foketi to Edmonton or Calgary would be a huge mistake.
  13. I don't know where you came out from under but I live in Calgary & I didn't need separate multiple threads to know Trent Corney retired. You're just a little slow, that's all.
  14. They told me that about the anesthetic. I just went okaaaaayyyyyyy…. Meanwhile I'm thinking, What the ####!! Thanks for your kind words.
  15. Yeah, injuries are part of the game. We'll have our share.
  16. Meanwhile in Calgary, starting veteran OG Brad Erdos went down in a drill this afternoon similar to a ruptured Achillles. Supposedly no one touched him. A very unhappy Dave Dickenson told the media that it's a serious injury & Erdos could be out "long term". They have no one to back him up. Calgary doesn't have the depth it had in previous years. Huge blow to their OL.
  17. I'd like to go but I'm having a knee replacement July 19th. Doubt if I'll be able to travel to Winnipeg or try to get around IGF.
  18. Why don't these companies use focus groups? STH's of different ages to get their feedback before they release their team's new uniforms. They obviously need help to get things right & knowledgeable fans would help in that process. Instead of some fashion designer who doesn't know the difference between football & soccer.
