  1. For almost every position except qb. We saw just how poor qb play was this season. I don't anticipate it getting any better with the XFL signing another 24 qbs off the market. Other than Dane Evans, Nick Arbuckle. Cody Fajardo & Vernon Adams I don't see any bright lights at that position ready to break out. This is the weakest I've ever seen the CFL for qbs.
  2. CFL is struggling. The last thing we need is another league poaching players. I hope the XFL dies.
  3. I do but it's not worth having a stroke if they don't. I've been this fan in the past. Ain't going to that dark place again.
  4. Oldies But Goodies...
  5. It's old & outdated. Needs a major upgrade.
  6. I'm not getting too hyped. It's the playoffs. It's the Bombers. It's the Stamps. It's at McMahon. Seen this show before. I hope they win but I won't be in a 2 month depression & spoil Xmas for me if they don't. Believe me, I've been there in the past.
  7. Good things. That's the key phrase. Not great.
  8. If we have a strong playoff run & win the West, O'Shea will be back. if It's a quick exit, I don't think Walters can sell the majority of the fanbase on another three years of the guy. There's a small but vocal group (some here) that think O"Shea is a great coach but they're in the minority. I think coaches have to be judged on post season success not just good regular seasons. O'Shea has never had a great season as a coach. A bunch of good ones. Not great. Hence, his losing record. He's never had a couple of dominant season to offset the dreadful ones.
  9. Why? The guy has a broken bone in his foot. What's the point? If I was Dickenson, I'd want him on the field. I wouldn't be worried that he might be.
  10. I find CHQR's coverage of the Stamps just lacks something. It's really hard to put a finger on it. It's the same guys for years covering the team. But they are on an all talk radio station. They do one hour of sports talk from Monday to Friday from 7-8 pm. That's the only time the Stamps would be mentioned so the team gets lost. And that's when they aren't talking Flames. The Fan 960 is all Flames, all the time as they are the Flames as well as the Hitmen radio station play by play. Postmedia could give a **** about the CFL. It's all about the NHL. So, the CFL gets buried. The buzz in Calgary for the Stamps is totally non existent. Been that way for years.
  11. The cost of the new LA Stadium has ballooned to $5 billion dollars & there are fears that Rams owner Stan Kroenke won't be able to finance the cost over run of the new home of the Rams & Chargers. The situation is so bad that the NFL wants to negotiate a new CBA with the players & have an agreement by Thanksgiving. If the NFLPA gets involved financially, the NFL is prepared to give the players 49% of revenue sharing. Which just goes to show that even in the NFL there are financial limits. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2858427-report-nfl-owners-want-players-to-fund-part-of-25b-needed-for-new-la-stadium
  12. I've never understood the fascination with starting new football leagues. Every one of them has failed. No league since the AFL has been successful & yet so called sane businessmen are more than willing to face financial ruin trying. After the original ABA (not the recent league) no one has tried again. No one has ever tried a third pro baseball league. No other pro hockey league other than the WHA has ever been a success. Yet, when it comes to pro football every few years we seem to go through it.
  13. Never screw the boss's daughter. Especially if your boss is Bruce Willis.
  14. Zero is being optimistic. The Stamps fanbase is pathetic. There is only a handful of Calgary media here who care. The rest is Flames. Flames. Flames. Other than the 3 media types at 770 CHQR who cover the Stamps on radio, there's only 1 Postmedia beat writer who covers the Stamps for both the Calgary Sun & Herald. His name is Danny Austin. I follow him on twitter. He's constantly tweeting about the Stamps & he engages anyone who comments. The guy likes CFL football & does a good job covering the team. But that's it. No one else really does. The sad part is he's from Toronto & he has more passion for the Stampeders than the rest of the media combined.
  15. He blew it with the XFL the first time. I can see it happening again.
  16. Their run game sucks. We'll pound the rock & have success. If the field is bad that will hamper their passing game. We definitely can take the Stamps out, I feel.
  17. Dark time in recent US history but even though I'm Canadian I'll just say thanks for your service.
  18. While the series has plenty of flaws I must be one of the few who like it. Although I wasn't sad to see the foul mouthed Michelle Vargas get killed off.
  19. The My Lai Massacre up to 500 men, women & children killed. Lt.William Calley was the only American officer convicted even though 26 were charged with war crimes & atrocities.
  20. When I was in Seattle visiting my son & his wife a month ago, I started watching a show called Another Life. Aliens made contact with Earth leaving a huge crystal shell on our planet. We are trying to communicate with it but we also sent a spaceship that travels the speed of light in search of the alien's home world so that we can make contact with them. Katee Sackhoff of Battlestar Galactica & Longmire stars as the Captain of the Earth ship. I got into it when I was there but don't have Neflix at home. Looking forward to seeing the remaining 5 episodes that I haven't seen when we go back down for Xmas. Has anyone else watched this show? If so, what are your thoughts? Critics hate it. No idea why the writers wanted such an undisciplined & dysfunctional crew of 20 somethings in the storyline.
  21. Man, when I hear Da Nang, I don't think about beautiful beaches. I think about the Viet Nam War. The US Air Force had the biggest airbase in the world at the time in Da Nang. I remember being in the US on business a few times in the 80's & seeing former servicemen wearing Da Nang ball caps. If I was an American, I'd have been drafted to fight in Vietnam as I turned 18 in 1973 so that war hit home with me. That was a long & protracted war that actually started in the 50's with France as SE Asia back then was known as French Indochina but in the early 60's the Americans under Kennedy sent in military advisors & the war escalated under Lyndon Johnson in 1965. It ultimately cost him his Presidency as he introduced the draft & Nixon took over the fight in 1968. Peace talks began in Paris in 1969 & would last until 1973. America was a deeply divided nation. Different generation, different memories.

  23. Why don't you just quit while you're marginally still ahead?? You're like a mosquito in a tent during the middle of the night.
  24. Agree. It's week to week now so why not hang in there to see what happens? Strange decision by Gaitor.
