As a 50 + wrestling fan going back to the 60's in Winnipeg with the old AWA my perspective is this. I don't care about the next up & comers from NXT. I have no interest to watch developmental wrestlers. That was what the old independent wrestling circuits were for. For inexperienced wrestlers to develop their in ring & mic skills as well as their personalities before going to the WWE. And now AEW. I'll gladly watch AEW before watching NXT. Nice to see some old familiar faces on television again. What I hate about WWE is the way their wrestlers are still cartoon characters. Bray Wyatt is The Fiend & fans go nuts. The Viking Raiders are another. Two wrestlers dress up as Vikings & scream a lot while trying to look angry. I guess as a fan I'm supposed to get all fired up?? Hardly. Just 2 examples of how wrestling fans intelligence is insulted by making these wrestlers out to be fantasy characters. Have Wyatt & the Viking Raiders drop their costumes & just come out & dominate without the props to make it look believable. When I saw Wyatt as The Fiend, I just sighed & went this is still the same old Bray Wyatt with a slightly different shtick. He does great promos but sucks in the ring. His new character does nothing for me. Having Seth Rollins act terrified just made it worse. Why does Riccochet need a nickname? Just use a first & last name & let him go out there & do his thing which is phenomenal. What the **** does a name like Riccochet mean anyway? Shouldn't he be really called "The Man That Gravity Forgot?" now that Neville is no longer in the WWE as Riccochet is as much of a high flyer as Neville was. I hate these nicknames Vince gives to his wrestlers like it's still 1985 in his mind when Typhoon & Earthquake were Tag Team Champions. Times change & Vince needs to move on from Saturday morning cartoons. Aleister Black has joined Raw. His repertoire are kicks. Sorry, wrestlers that use kicks to the head no longer impress me. When Sean Micheals did it in the 90's it was something new & fresh but now it seems that 90% of wrestlers today use kicks in their repertoires so it no longer impresses the way Michaels did 20 years ago. Nothing like seeing a wrestler absorb 10 kicks to the head & continually kick out of the 1... 2... 3... count. He should be dead as his brains would be scrambled but instead remains surprisingly alive & even recovers to win the match. Fans chanting, "This is awesome!!" should really be chanting, "This is fake!!" because it is & it's ridiculous. As far as AEW goes, I just watched the first show. Not because I haven't wanted to but because I still have to get used to the new time & channel changes. I keep forgetting. But from what I saw, I was impressed. It didn't have that formulaic WWE feel to it with Vince's fingerprints all over it. I don't like Smackdown on Fridays as it interferes with CFL football. I refuse to PVR Smackdown. I have a feeling after the Grey Cup is over, I still won't watch it. Oh & speaking of the Smackdown War Room during the draft, seeing actors cheering & fist pumping along with the Fox automaton or whatever it's called was downright stupid to intelligent wrestling fans. It just makes me want to tune out wrestling permanently but I always come back. Mostly out of habit. Maybe I'm the stupid sucker.

What mess? You're the one who said that we've had 4 straight seasons of 10 win seasons. I'd hardly call that a mess. However, if Mike can't get us over the hump this season in the last year of his contract then how does Miller & Walters justify signing him long term? Can't use injuries as an excuse as all teams have to deal with them. Especially the Ti Cats with Masoli lost for the season. A one year contract extension for O'Shea sure, but not 3 years. But we know that won't happen, though.
-
Well, how can it not? I mean it's only been 30 years. But this has nothing to do with the last 30 years but the last 6. Since we became competitive in 2016, we haven't been able to get over the hump with this coaching regime. I just think that giving O'Shea a new 3 year deal will make some Bomber fans happy & anger others thus polarizing the fanbase which will cause problems. We all hope that this is the year so let's see what happens.
-
Perhaps but JCon never said that. He said MLA & not Premier. Doesn't Pallister own property in Costa Rica?
-
No, just the second longest tenured coach who can't win. Don't know how Walters can sell another 3 years of the same old to fans if this team under O'Shea fails in the playoffs once again. I actually like Mike. He's a decent guy but at some point he has to be held accountable for failing to win. IF he doesn't win again this post season.

Why does a provincial MLA have to travel outside Canada so much?
-
That tweet scared the **** out of me until I saw the date. As of yet, not convinced they all should be back. They have to win.
-
Wideleft, I believe that candidates & their parties have to earn the right to get a vote. The NDP, Liberals & Greens have done absolutely no campaigning in my riding. I've been involved in small ways in previous provincial campaigns when I lived in Winnipeg years ago so I understand the political process. We just look at it differently. You believe that I should go online & look up the candidates who are ghosting my riding. My attitude is that if a political party or in this instance, political parties have written off my riding then I believe that they haven't earned the right to ask for my vote & they won't get it. Yesterday, my PPC candidate got into a pissing contest on facebook after he was called a Nazi. He responded by attacking the CPC & Scheer & came across as a nutjob. I know who I'm voting for Monday.
-
Dude, I know who my incumbent politician is. But if the other parties don't want to earn my vote then I won't go searching out their platforms. I could very easily find out but I don't want to.

He needs a new lawyer. Claim refugee status & Trudeau will give him $10.5 million.

Wait, it was a team win when Nichols won a playoff game according to you but when the Bombers lose it's all on Nichols. Seems to me that if Streveler ever climbs the lofty peaks & the Bombers win a playoff game you'll be more than willing to say, "He did it" & give Streveler all the credit in the world that you won't give Nichols.

You base that intelligence level on what? Nine starts, Booch? He hasn't shown any intelligence level superior to any of those guys you mention yet. I say, yet... as he could develop into a starting qb or... not. However, at this time I'm not ready to anoint him superior in the brain game to any of those 3 guys who played before him. You keep mentioning that Streveler is intelligent. You read that somewhere & have attached that monicker to him on several occasions like it's some kind of Red Badge Of Courage. Where is this superior intellect? I don't see it. Others have picked up the game faster than him. Like Ricky Ray, Bo Levi Mitchell, Mike Reilly, Doug Flutie, Tom Clements & Warren Moon. All I see is a second year pro who is prone to making mistakes throwing the ball who is struggling on the field at times. He's still a kid playing a man's game. He's shown to be no more intelligent than any other inexperienced back up qb in the CFL at present or have come before him. I see a player with unlimited potential & athletic ability off the charts but average when it comes to picking up the Canadian game. He ain't ready for prime time yet. Hopefully, he will be someday. He's all we got so we have to ride with him as far as he can go.

As a Head Coach, he blew it.
-
That Stampeder team still had a core of experienced veterans from their 1998 championship team as well as 99 Grey Cup finalist team. Huge mistake to underestimate them the way the Bombers did. Still pisses me off thinking about that missed opportunity.
-
Crandell was a vet who got on something like a five game hot streak, reg season & playoffs & he played lights out. So, have to give him props for playing in the moment. Salisbury was nothing special but he didn't make many mistakes & handled the pressure very well in the playoffs & Grey Cup in 88. But he had a great defense backing him up & a monster in Rod Hill making huge plays like blocking punts in the 88 East Final & Mike Grey deflecting passes on the goal line in the Grey Cup. Burgess great game manager & didn't turn the ball over much & had an even better defense behind him in 90 than he had in 88. That defense dismantled a vaunted Esks team that year piece by piece.
-
This a thousand times over. The Bombers thought all they had to do was show up & the Stamps would fall over in awe from their greatness. Dave Ritchie did nothing to stop the nonsense by his players. The Bombers should have been champions that year.
-
No.
-
Yeah, I'd like to know who these far, far worse qbs are as well.
-
Things will just be getting started out here if he forms even a minority government.
-
He's been walking that tweet back all day. What a piece of slime Butts is.

It looks like Elizabeth May did nothing but cement the image of a clueless socialist wingnut in voters minds. She's pretty much fallen off the radar since the English language debate.

Running is not a fundamental. It's a physical attribute. Just like Dieter Brock had a rifle for an arm. Tom Clements agility & scrambling ability. Matt Dunigans's physical attibutes, strength, power & leadership abilities. All physical gifts. How can you call that having a cherry picking agenda? LOL.
-
Nope. Hall & Lapo gotta go.
-
Ha, ha. You lecturin' now? You sure that rock didn't bounce off your head before it hit your hand?
-
You laughed in reaction on the last quote, Skunk which is why I wouldn't bother trying to explain it to you. Since when is running a THROWING fundamental.?Thanks for stopping by though. Your input is greatly appreciated. You've certainly enriched this conversation, as always.
