After what is happening with the Omicron variant, I'm just glad the CFL was able to get the full season with minimal disruption. We might be seeing pro sports leagues shutting things down or not allowing fans into games to watch.

No, the play on the line would be the difference. I drove in all the way from Calgary to see that game. That was absolutely horrible. That was when I knew in the off season things would be blown up & they were.

Greg Battle in the middle with James West & Ty Jones on the outside. Best linebacking corps in the CFL hands down at the time. You both always stood up for those guys right from the start & never backed down when the majority of posters (myself included) wanted them fired. You were right & holy .... we were wrong. Props to you both for never giving up on them. Thankfully Wade Miller didn't either.

Here's an interesting stat. The Bombers won their 4th Grey Cup in 1958 which was 63 years ago. The Riders won their 4th Grey Cup in 2013.

I said this exact same thing to my family. The 1988 Grey Cup. Almost the same scenario. The pass tipped in the air & intercepted both by DT Mike Gray. There still was 1:45 left to play & those last few seconds were absolute torture. My reaction was the same when we won. Complete relief followed by happiness!

I noticed how Demski didn't seem very impressed with Ambrosie. No smile. No eye contact. He just gave Demski the Most Outstanding Canadian Trophy & the player walked away. To me, it was clearly a "Give me the trophy & get out of my face moment". Ambrosie looked a bit taken aback. Almost intimidated. And piss off every whiny separatist like Blanchet in Quebec.

Look at us in 1992, 93, 2001, 2007. we lost those GC's sandwiched between 1990 & 2019. Kevin Glenn broke his arrm in 07 in the Eastern Final & we subsequently lost to an inferior Riders team that year. Wah, wah, wah. No one felt sorry for us. Rider fans just laighed at us. We had to wait 29 years. It's only been 22 years for Hamilton. Suck it up, buttercups.

The offensive & defensive lines would be the difference. Back in 1984, the OL was 255-280 lbs with the exception of Chris Walby pushing 300. Now we have guys that are 295-320 lbs. The game would be lost on the LOS. I can say with confidence that guys like DL Stan Mikawos, DE Tony Norman, S Scott Flagel, LB Tyrone Jones, DB David Shaw, OL Chris Walby, QB Tom Clements, RB Willard Reaves, SB's Joe Pop & Rick House, WR's Jeff Boyd & James Murphy from that 84 GC team could all play today if they were in their primes. Maybe not all on the Bombers because of the dynamic players we have now but on other teams in the CFL. In. Their. Prime.

They barely got it built. It was going to be bigger & a lot nicer until the City of Hamilton & the Ontario government got into a dispute with Bob Young. I don't think he wanted it built where it is but the provincial govt also tied a bunch of conditions to be met before it was built for the Pan Am Games. It was scaled back.

The Rider fanbase falls 10,000 years in the past. They look up & are in wonder of that blue & gold light in the sky. The thousands of Rider fans all cry out, "We don't want to go back!!"
