As far as I'm concerned, the only part of RTP that should really be challengeable is the head shot, or hitting below the knees.  Anything else is timing and is a judgement call which as you say are the problem.

Sure looks like Flanders plays.  Pretty excited for that.
The receiving corps has a lot to prove but I know all 5 of those guys are very capable.  I think we've just scratched the surface of what TJ Thorpe can do.

I have said for years, when the Bombers win the Grey Cup Freisen is going to write an article with the headline "All Downhill From Here" and tons of fans are going to agree completely with it.

yea because we have NEVER had the refs screw us over before.

not like the league didn't issue 2 apologies to us last year.  oh wait..

Not getting testy, its just one of my biggest pet peeves when people are insinuating some fault or failure when they don't know what the actual reasoning is for something.   Its been that way with our MLB for the last 2-3 seasons.. everyone gets this misconception in their head that ALL MLBS need to be the main tackling player on the defense and if they are not then we have a massive failure on our defense and its the end of days, etc etc.   If we want to assign blame, sure go ahead and assign some but aim it accordingly.. is he slow? sure.   out of position? No.  is the the best tackler on our team? No. Does he do it adequately enough? ya, I think so.. he made some last game contrary to popular belief.

Now id put the blame on Halls shoulders for trying to run this complicated scheme still with all the injuries to our LBs and backend.

Reality is thats your opinion and reality also suggests you are a bitter silly man... 11-7 best record in years... Competitive every game pretty much. Exciting team... Weird. Its almost like you actually believe you know it all.. Thats sad.

It's weird you'd give up your season tickets after an 11-7 record which was our best record in 13 years.

Well sorry for going against the flow on this one....I think he hit it on the head. I have never liked MOS's attitude from the get go. He is far too stubborn to be a head coach responsible for making decisions that will help the team win be it either during the game and game decisions or manpower decisions. The points that were made were spot on regarding his unwillingness to sit Willy, sit other starters who were underperforming etc. It was only when he was told to give Nichols a shot after a terrible 1-4 start and then by luck inserted a few rookies due to injury namely Loffler and Fogg that the team started to move. I believe there was also a move to insert Bond on the OL line but I may be wrong with that one. Point is he cannot make a manpower decision effectively and his game decisions are terrible.
He is one of the reasons I did not keep my season tickets after many years.....it was obvious what the outcome was going to be and I didn't want to spend 1 1/2 hours driving into the city to watch what I KNEW was going to be another loss and not a close one at that.....then if by luck it was a close one to be lost with a bone head decision by the head coach, only to have to wait over 1/2 hour to leave and face another 1 1/2 hour drive back home. And to top it all off I couldn't leave early because the shuttle bus didn't leave until it was full near the end of the game. I won't mention IGF which is another story of its own. Suffice to say, Mr MOS was a huge reason why I stopped going. Do I follow them on TV, yes I do but I have the privilege to turn it off when I chose. Do I wish them well, certainly do and will always but reality is they will never win a Grey Cup or get to it with MOS as head coach......so the article is bang on....at least in my opinion

I get that but to yell negativity the entire game really gets on my nevers especially when most of it is unfounded.

Highlighted your first mistake... hasn't anyone ever told you that the west side sucks?
I'm in 209 and I've got one guy near me who was biatching about Richie Hall for most of the game, but generally the rest of the guys in that group have been pretty reasonable.  Not always looking for the negative at least.

There's an awful lot of talk about games being slowed down but for some reason they still seem to fit in the same 3-hour timeslot they always did.

I can see the merits of both sides of the equation here but I think they should make an amendment that if you use your challenge and its correct, you keep it for a total of 2 per game.  if you challenge and lose, its gone.

as I too can see scenarios unfolding where a catch/no catch is challenged and overturned... then next quarter you got a fumble/no fumble and now are at the mercy of the officials making the correct call if its not a scoring play..

This 100%, something like the TMO from rugby. Ear piece with direct communication between the head ref and TMO at all times, TMO can confirm any penalty call, points scored, or turnover, and can call any flagrant penalties noticeable from the camera view that aren't always easily noticeable at field level.

Remove challenges on illegal contact, but allow them for PI.
If the rule cannot be enforced consistently, then it is not a well-defined rule and certainly not challengeable.

    Terrible solution.  Hate it.
Reffing problems are at an all-time high and their solution is to remove the teams' ability to challenge bad calls.  They couldn't have possibly got this more wrong and it won't take long to see why.

It's a step, but as others have mentioned, it's reacting instead of responding.
I'd like to see challenges only for: PI, completed catch, and fumbles/interceptions.  Give each coach 2 per game. Get the PI wrong in the last 3 minutes of the game and get penalised with delay of game.

I like that it's a step in trying to correct the stupidity of the situation, but I think it's just another knee jerk reaction from the CFL which is what got us into this mess in the first place.
The entire point of video review is to get things right... yet with 1 review a side it still leaves a lot of leeway for the refs to get things wrong.
I've said since they implemented it that if video review can not be 100% at getting calls right then it shouldn't be part of the game. I would still advocate for the entire review process to be scrapped and just let the referees do their jobs and we can live with real time on the field mistakes from them rather than having to live with mistakes even after the review.
At very least they should do away with the ability to challenge PI. It has always been discretionary so reviewing it is just stupid.

PI isn't as bad as the illegal contact ones, just eliminate those and it wouldn't be so bad.

Well look at our games this season.  We had to challenge a catch for a first down that clearly and blatantly incomplete against BC.  So now O'Shea would have to gift that first down to BC to preserve his challenge for later? Bullshit.  They got it wrong again, the old cut off the nose to spite the face change.

Sard reacted to JuranBoldenRules in Commissioner gets it right
Disagree.  The problem wasn't the number of challenges coaches could initiate, the process was the problem.  I would have limited PI reviews to video at regular speed, set a hard cap at decision within 90 seconds or inconclusive and eliminated the illegal contact review.  Just wait until someone loses a game on a botched PI call that they could have reviewed previously, the pendulum will swing right back around.

great comment about Charmichael, Walker and Porter.  They all should be learning and watching at this point, not dodging bullets.  We've had to force them in and not surprisingly, we have had some Gaffes..

Dave Richie always said that you will lose at least one game a season due to a rookie starting.. so 3 in at starting roles, 4 technically.. we are due for 4 losses minimum, lol.   Its gonna happen, problems are going to pop up with knowing assignments, zones, where to line up, etc etc.  Can't be avoided as these guys are practically learning on the fly..

They're 3-2.  Theatrics?  I think that's all on your end.  Incredibly, the team is not perfect.  Doesn't mean we start shipping out players, coaches, and management.  You don't build a juggernaut overnight and I don't know why you'd expect to go from a perennial loser to number one in the league over the course of two seasons.  It just doesn't work that way.
