Any team with a good run game scares me in CFL playoffs. Especially this year in late Nov / Dec. That would be MTL this year. To a lesser extent CAL too -

Why would they challenge that isnt every turnover automatically reviewed? -

It doth not matter the sizeth of the crowd. It is the loudness of the cowbell, the raucousness within. -
Yeah I remember reading that too, but couldnt find it anywhere when I went to source it. Just that it was "conditional"

Screw getting a receiver...get Chad Rempel back here to do the long snaps on FGs lol. Seriously none of the receivers from either of those teams have stood out this year. Walker and Ellingson have looked pedestrian at best. From Ottawa the only player I'd want would be Devonte Dedmon - but even at that it'd be a minor upgrade (if any) over our current return Grant. Not only that - a good kick returner is often due to the special teams play around him - airlifting him in wouldn't necessarily make our return game phenomenal. The only deep threat receiver I'd currently want would be Burnham, but good luck prying him loose from BC - not to mention it'd be at a heavy price. More importantly though - trading away a DB like this sends the wrong message to that locker room, it'd be a very, very short-sighted move on our part. TLDR; There is a reason EDM and OTT are in the basement. I wouldn't want anyone from either of those teams.

The key is it is a CONDITIONAL pick, and Castillo is only under contract until end of 2021. Besides, BCs current kicker seems to have settled in nicely... Why pay Castillo more, if Comacho is the future and Sergio bolts in 2022? I would not be surprised if the pick is upgraded to 1st round if we win the Grey Cup, or if Castillo re-signs. This structure would be similar to the structure for the Collaros trade.

Who are we likely to lose after this season??

You forgot to add "Not Saskatchewan" to the list. -

I like Adams. Not as productive as previously, but dude plays with a mean streak... Blocks well. -

So wait... Is Castillo actually going to kick for us now, or did we just acquire his rights? Is he still actively pursuing NFL contracts? I don't recall him kicking for BC this year... -

Yeah I'd agree with that. I just meant that our offense has relied less heavily on Harris than in prior years. We are better equipped to deal with the dropoff in run production than the poorer (albeit still good) pass pro for Oliviera. As for the Oline - def agree that is much more concerning if Hardrick is out longterm. -

With Brady I am not concerned with the dropoff in run production... More concerned with his ability to pickup blitzers -

I just feel bad for Trevor Harris, imagine coming up with outlandish excuses to avoid getting smacked by this defense, only to have to come up with more outlandish excuses 'cuz your sorry ass got traded. -

Bah. Forgot they both still have a game in hand on us. Ah well, c'est la vie. -

For those less mathematically inclined, we can clinch under any of the following scenarios: 1. Win 1 of our remaining games. 2. Saskatchewan has at least 2 ties or one loss in their remaining games 3. The Bombers and Riders both have a tie in one of their remaining games each respectively. -
Okay just for arguments' sake here is the current status of the entire first round of the 2019 CFL draft: 1. Shane Richards (OL) - Has played 9 games so far in 2021. 2. Jesse Gibbon (OL) - Played 9 games so far in 2021. 3. Mathieu Betts (DL) - 8 games in 2021, 8 tackles 4. Drew Desjarlais (OL) - 10 games in 2021 5. Jonathon Kongbo (DL) - 10 games in 2021, 5 tackles, 1 special teams tackle 6. Justin McInnis (WR) - 2 games in 2021, 2 catches on 3 targets for 17 yards, far as I can tell he's not injured 7. Alex Fontana (OL) - Currently not playing in 2021 due to personal reasons (source: https://3downnation.com/2021/07/05/former-first-round-draft-pick-alex-fontana-will-not-play-for-redblacks-in-2021/) 8. Hergy Mayala (WR) - 9 games in 2021, 23 catches on 42 targets, 238 yards, 0 TDs. So, I mean most of the guys above are contributing to their teams. I'm not a big trenches guy, so it's hard to say how good Richards and Gibbon are, but seeing as they've started every game for each team respectively, I'd assume they're valuable. Only ones that appear currently to be a bit of busts are McInnis and Fontana, but jury's still out on them, as it appears SSK is still developing McInnis, and Fontana may just be a short term thing as his absence is for personal reasons.

Certainly not our best showing. Good teams find a way, even when not doing their best overall.

Bailey is my 1st star in this game. Dude has been a beast.
-
Edm coach just wants to watch a good QB get hit illegally in slow mo so bad he's willing to waste a timeout and challenge to do it.
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe we 'clinch' when it becomes mathematically impossible for us to miss the playoffs.
