  1. it’s interesting in theory, but in reality if you just use the waggle late in games players are not going to get adept at it. It’ll be one of those seldom used poorly executed things.
  2. we mostly talked about dooley. Dixon is a hell of a football player too though. one of those tc mvps in the nfl with the jags. more of a kongbo than a pure pass rusher.
  3. Wow... thats all I got good luck UFL
  4. probably. Give him a big front loaded bonus then he decides to retire rather than report and keep the bonus
  5. 99% of the fan base including on here would toute his second chance as soon as he won a game. Thankful we won’t go after him, it’s gonna be edmonton that does imo.
  6. very un surprising. In general I would take the ball for any thing short of mad weather. But our O in the 3rd is soo bad again this year we might have done better to run or kneel and limit our offensive snaps lol
  7. Every one needs to do better in the coaching staff. Jy has not taken the step forward I had hoped he would after last years brilliant adjustments. That said, with what we are married to on the dl, I don’t think JY could do any thing other than drop every one and hope for the best. We’ve managed to limit tds and red zone better than any one else. but honestly some of that has looked like we’ve been as lucky as good. Now i’ve seen time this year where we have repeatedly failed to get deep enough in the second level and play too far off in the 3rd level. Giving away uncontested first downs on second and long. Being married to tony jones really hurts our pass D. In our scheme we need a guy who can either get deep enough to take away the mid field by first down marker on 2nd and long, or one who can disrupt on a regular basis by pass rushing. And jones is just lost in decision making and seldom deep enough. In the pass rush he’s little more than a guy trying to block a blocker. The Dl is the real heart of the problem as we all know. With two canadians on the field of half the snaps we aren’t gonna disrupt or get pressure. WJ can still make plays, but aside for the precious few games were he turns it on, he’s the worst pass rushing starting de in the league. He’s also one of the worst run stoppers. He needs to be a rotational guy, and even then you gotta keep on him to not coast. Even the rest of Vaughters, woods, lawson and adams don’t have the answers. I like woods, lawson and adams a lot, but neither is the guy who plays the most snaps. Vaughters has been solid mostly, if unspectacular. And is really yet another 3rd guy in an ideal rotation. Imo, DL gives the best value for cap hit in free agency. But it’s also a hit or miss position.
  8. banking on this now lol agree with basically all that. One thing, whats worse Jy and the execution on that 3rd and 2, Or hogan and the draw on the last play of the game down by 5?
  9. You have to go back to about mid-2023 to see the last time Zach had 2 good games back to back. He had 3 in a row, and 2 to start the year. Which indeed makes for long odds against us. If he's just ok, 70%, 8+ ypa, 250+, 1 td, no picks for all the rest of our games, we have a chance. If we get that Zach and the dominant run game we could have, we have a good chance. But our run game is boom or bust, and even when it's booming, we don't lean on it. In his 3 best games this year, Brady is averaging 8.7 ypc and 15 carries. We won 2 of those games and were close in all 3, but even then we couldn't/wouldn't pound the rock. Since week 10 (9 games), we've given up an average of 19.77 points per game. Including 31 to Toronto, 34 to the riders, and 32 to the stamps. We've only given up more than 34 points once this year. With the insane amount of turnovers/defensive scores we've given up, as well as the amount of TOP and yards against us, that's pretty crazy. We have some of the fewest ints, TFL, sacks, etc, but we've given up the fewest TDs.
  10. He's been overlooked badly on a few routes, though. Idk, Zach/the system really seems like oil and water with Mitchell for some reason. I could see him really lighting it up next year with another team, especially against us. I have no expectations for Wheatfall. I'd rather see us work in Echols, but it isn't gonna happen.
  11. I like Doman, I like what they are trying to do in that market, I like a bunch of their football guys. McDairmid, Bourgoin, Young, Ringmaiden, etc. I like Rourke a lot more after he spoke out against the rules. They got a bunch of guys on the roster I like. I love the way they rebuilt that DL, too. I love Buck the person; I had high hopes for him as a football mind and coach. I could see his last year here being what it was due to how the mafia works. Really don't like Awe and a couple of other guys.
  12. Yep, it's matt nichols all over again. The final move of any deep route is coming back to the ball and not by a small adjustment either. Difference is, nichols could manage the game. If we do that like we did vs hamilton, we got a chance. If we don't, we've got no shot.
  13. And even more interesting to see which blue bomber squad shows up.
  14. Another big imp G trying to translate to T. Played some DL as a redshirt freshman. Next year, he started all 12 games, first 4 at rt rest at guard. Next year, he played in 6 games, starting just 2, one at each guard spot. His last 2 years, he really excelled. He allowed 1 sack each year on 270 and 428 passing snaps. Had a stellar 95+% win rate on passing downs.
  15. I actually like Maas in his als days as well. He's really taken some big steps from where he was as a nut case before. Yep, pretty much same for me. I don't really want to see the riders (ofc) or stamps win. And I'm torn on BC. I grew up around a couple nurses, the wildest stories. Tons of respect for anyone who works in health care, especially nurses. ER, RSNs, man, they got one of the toughest jobs.
  16. change, that’s what i’m hoping for. For other teams, I’d say hamilton. Montreal is tough and better coached, but i’m not betting on davis in the playoffs offs. I’m also not banking on bc stepping up in a tough game.
  17. yep, can go back to last year on that too. 3rd quarter and end of the first half has been our kryptonite. Usually both lol, more like 20/80 balls.
  18. I don’t think so, I think it was bourgoins, but they moved way to slow and lost out on him so they pivoted to hogan. Tbf, I don’t think lapo would say no to a cfl coach job as oc or higher. same guy went to ott, brought in matt nichols and a host of unimpressive players. Yt isn’t growing for him sadly, and he has seen his tsn work reduced greatly.
  19. for the life of me i will never understand how you look at what’s happening in this game and don’t go, hey let’s do more of that 2 step drop, hitch curl stuff. You can’t expect to beat pressure packages with more bodies when you got guys inside losing 1on1 battles with regularity. You can only get the ball out faster.
  20. I’m not a conspiracy theorist type. but the hammy games playbook install did look a lot like jackson’s offence in edmonton. And this one looks a lot like what we’ve seen the rest of the season. I don’t buy that hogan was stripped of duties or any thing especially after this week. But i do think they looked at what hamilton does and decided to bring more of jackson’s stuff in. Why we didn’t run any of that this week is completely beyond me. I’ll say too, billy jean as an offensive assistant/wr coach has handily under performed what bourgoins did with wrs previously here. No one knows what to do when zach scrambles, is pressured, and no one works off any one else. We should not see route/assignment failures at this point of the year. especially not regularly. Maybe jean is being micro managed, or some thing. But when we have jackson and a coach for each position wrs should be on the same page with zach/our qb.
  21. i hate the futile feeling of being behind, knowing zach is playing brutal, and watching as he just continues to chuck. And knowing we wont adjust.
  22. some one needs to go back n check 19/21 and get that person to start them for the rest of the year lol. Maybe needs more gifs?
  23. yeah when mitchel went down for a bit. We had him and corcoran in with mitchell clercius and sterns.
  24. 100%. They played harder, more disciplined, executed better and played a full 4 quarters. Edmonton is a much better team than their record. even as time is running out in a one score game. unbelievable.
  25. hate to see it, especially as he just got on as a starter
