ideally, id rotate ayers with shay/smith so we can go full imp dl on passing downs. put in the dime db for jones. They can follow around the lber, or drop into a shallow zone easy enough -

he has, kid is soaking it up down there. he’s doing all the right things and working full time with the right people. the nfl will pass him by if he doesn’t crack an ar this year or gets hurt, it’s all gonna end real fast. tbh i think he deserves a shot on the ar of an nfl this year. I don’t think the lions are willing to take the plunge which is silly. they say they do but he’s camped on the back end of the depth chart. Which happens a lot with high upside prospects. -

because his financial best interest is to sit down south the whole year and try to get on a pr. a short stint on an nfl pr would be more than a whole year of playing up here on his contract. if he sits, he maximizes his chance to earn this year, next year he could go ufl (if it stays in existence) then back to the nfl, or he could enter free agency in the cfl off the nfl and get a fat deal from any one. or try to get another nfl deal. His worst financial move would be to come back here and finish his basic contract. -

love ayers. i’d rather take kyrie off and play ayers. tbh id consider taking logan back off for woods. i think we got a few options though. he only plays end in defensive heavy set packages. so goal line 3rd and 1 etc. hate dandy being cut. guess some one had to go probably staying in town. Cobb on is a given with injuries imo. atleast this week. woods runs like a mofo for a big man. which is usually a given here for imp dts. Yeah like echols. swerve is worth a shot but off an acl is a big question. echols i think is a very high floor guy who could fit really well with zach -

I don't have the overall roster numbers per game this year, but Calgary, Montreal, Saskatchewan, and Toronto have all carried a bunch of bodies and rotated heavily on the DL. Calgary has 8 ol on the ar right now, 6 of which are imps. The Argos have 7, with 5 imps. The riders have 9, with 6 imps and 1 global. The Als have 7, with 3 imps plus Johnson on the IR. Those 4 teams are the top 4 teams at rushing the passer in the league. They combined have 98 sacks, the remaining 5 combine for 75. Calgary and SSK are likely the 2 best Ds in the league right now. For my money, Montreal is in the top half of defences as well, pretty easily. ott, is running 9 dl with 3imps and 1 global. Edmonton is running 10dl, with 5 imps. Bc is running 10 with 5 imps. And Hamilton is running 7 with 5 imps. We've got 7, with 4 imps. Though we ran more than half of the year so far with 6 and 3-4. So the TLDR is, average league-wide is 8.22 DL on the ar, 4.66 imps. Each team starts 1, and Di/back-ups just under 2. If you have Canadians who can pass rush, or fringe starters as back-ups rotating heavily, you can get away with less. If you don't, teams are running a lot of DL to rotate currently. But we are not doing really either. We don't put out a lot of DL bodies, and we don't have quality ni pass rushers. -

need to find a way to get more Safteys who can't cover anyone, and 1-dimensional lbers on the roster. No other back-ups. And maybe we can start a lber at wr to sneak them on... Ayers get a new number! -

Very likely, but the talent level overall would've dipped and made the game much harder to watch, especially for casual fans. Like the late 90s when the gap between imps and nis was gigantic. We would've been hit hard league-wide at OL. I think most teams would've had to start 3-4 imports. We had a lot of good ni ol in that time who likely would've been the prime targets. -

Maybe both. Hard to believe he's 28 eh? Bout to turn 29 though. Still, younger than Echols somehow. But yeah, he's an undersized guy who plays hard. 5 seasons and almost 300 catches under his belt. He isn't shot, but he isn't fresh as a daisy either. I like both moves better than running out Cody or pushing Schoen back early. Plus, I like how these guys are a reasonable balance of vet experience and youth. They are great guys to push who we have. -

Yeah, I mean that's a clear improvement over a chunk of guys we've run out at WR this and last year. -

I don't hate this move, actually. Doesn't have a ton of wear on him, really interesting athlete with good experience and reasonable success. He's got a great first and second gear, very twitchy, explosive. And has a top gear, but is missing about 2 mid gears to make the most out of his top-end speed. He has probably 3 gears more than you can even use in football. He was a really good 200m runner, 100m, and amazing jump ability. He's a real solid back up PR/KR as well. Could do a lot of damage in catch and run stuff, and also on the sweep plays. -

I still hope He sticks for a year on the PR down south. And I think his chances should be pretty good with one team or another. Not only does he have the raw upside, but he's managed to translate that to gameplay in the pre-season. That's a big deal especially for a high upside raw talent guy. -

Unless it was just changed, the IPP does not apply to Canadians. It only applies to kids born outside of North America. If it was included, we would be seeing a lot more first through 4th round pick types sitting in the NFL for a year. Seriously, it would completely decimate our draft. I beleive players have to be signed to the IPP in the first place as well, I don't think they can be recerftified to IPP after signing. -

If Demski is ok, I expect he will go no matter what, but we need him ok at least, and Schoen is better than the replacement level imp we've seen this year (which isn't asking much), and we get Wilson back in this 3-4 game stretch, our WR core should be plenty good. Also, if Sterns is ok to, he's not lighting the world on fire, but he's filled the Bailey role in the WR core. Tons of effort, toughness, busts his ass no matter what happens or where the ball goes, reliable catcher who Zach can lean on. I'm not wild on Houston, but if he smartens up, it's hard for him to be worse than Lawson Jr./Bridges have been. I don't think Vaval is the answer at the other corner currently either, but I also don't expect massive changes in short order. It's crazy how much DL success we had with the rotation and limited NI reps, and then when Lawson is healthy, what do we do? Give 90% of inside reps to NIs and go back to more than 30 fronts with all Canadians. If we don't see the full bolstering of IMP WRs, I'd look long and hard at dressing Vanterpool when healthy. But not taking Wallace off, I'd play a lot of 6 OL packs even on passing plays. Say, play Vanterpool inside of Randolph. He's better inside than out, and Randolph has played a lot of blocking TE stuff going back to college. Vs 40 fronts, you have 3 blocking 2 on both sides of the line. You take the decision away from Kola largely as well, as he'd be blocking mostly away from the strong side. Then you have 2 guys who can split off doubles to pick up blitzes, twists etc, plus Brady on block and release. We aren't spreading the field or stretching Ds well any way, I'd rather give zach extra time than an extra shallow target under neath the D. -

I've been saying for a while that Sask isn't what their record indicates. They've skated by on some smoke and mirrors. When I look at the last game, it gives me some optimism that we can turn it around, and once more punt the riders on the back-to-back. When I look at the previous month and the games most of this year, though, it gives me cause for concern. I think, as it often has, the roster makeup will be a strong indicator. If we get Lawson Jr. off for Houston/Dandy, get Woods on somehow, and get a serious boost to the WR somehow, it will be a great sign we are going to move in the right direction. Our DBs as is, with the heavy rotation of the 3 NI DTs over all imps, I don't think our D could hold up to the riders' O. And with out a much improved WR core, I don't think our O has a chance at keeping up with the riders O. -

Hamilton might not be better than .500 when we play them. Their splits at home and vs the west are bad as well. Bc was above .500 when we beat them as well. I actually think Hamilton is the most likely to win for us. They are 2-2 at home and 2-4 vs the West. While we are 2-3 on the road, we are also just 3-3 vs the West. With all that said, though, since the schedule is so poorly balanced, it is really hard to place value on the strength of schedule and record vs X situation. So damn many home and away series, season series wrapped up in 1/3 of the year, 2 away games in 5 days, type of situations. I think the road to us winning 2 of 3 would likely start with a blowout in the LDC. If we get slapped and SSK hangs a big number, they might have a considerable hangover in the BJB and struggle on O, giving us a chance to finally answer back for being punched in the mouth. Then, if we roll that into some momentum in Hamilton, we could thread the needle and turn lemons into lemonade. I think that would likely require some tough changes after the LDC, though. I think the likely case is that we get swept, and that's the wake-up call to bring some urgency to Hamilton. Our "one week at a time" thing went from playing each game like the play offs to preping for each game like its week 1. And the previous games review went from not getting too big a head from winning most weeks to writting off loses cus hey it's a new week and we just go 1-0! -

I'd rather see him in more game action, but that would mean losing games. I don't want to get rid of him, but I also don't think he ends up being an impact qb. Still seems all tools no intangibles. I would keep an older qb on the roster because even older and injured they both provide more value. I think I was duped by a couple of cut projection lists, actually, my bad. -

I’d try to get strev or chase onto the ir. strev has some value around the league and I’d try to trade him before cutting. You could cut chase and have him back in next years tc. but i think elgersma needs more involvement than pr. Strev can win a game, ugly or other wise, in a pinch when starting. I don’t think wilson can. so if i really had to choose right now, It’d be wilson. -

honestly idk. the ldc/bib is heavily skewed towards a split. the only firm statement i see is if some one sweeps. other wise i expect us to be in a similar position in 3 weeks. Id say we have a 80% chance of being 1-2, a 5%chance of going 0-3, a 5% chance of 3-0 and a 10% chance of 2-1. 7 teams are with in 3 games right now. if we go 0fer we are still in the play off picture. if one of the 3 win teams goes 0 fer their season is over. if the riders go 0 fer they still are in the hunt for a home play off game. -

serviceable is a far cry from top tier, and still we don’t have the ability to add a bunch of players mid season. how would you retool mid season? placing each year isn’t really to do with a mid season retool or an off season one either
