  1. In Walter's press conference, he was asked about Zach's deal, and he still thinks Zach is worth 600k. (He unofficially confirmed the 600k, and I assume the 350k ish gaurenteed again) I broke down his playoff stats a couple of years ago, which were even more dismal than I expected. Here is some more fun with Zach's numbers. He has played 31 games in his last two seasons, and during that time, he has averaged 238 yards passing, 1 interception, and 1 touchdown per game. 14 of his 31 games have been under that average of 238 yards passing, 7/31 games have been 300 or more. With 10 games very close to his average. In 24 games out of 31, we see average, or bad Zach. And average Zach is pretty bad. 12/31 gave had more ints than tds. 8/31 games have had more TDs than INTs. His 2 best games of the last year skew his stats by 762 yards, 9tds and 0 INTs. If you remove his 2 best games of last year, his average per game drops to 228 yards per game, and .8 tds per game. If you create a split of good Zach vs Zach the rest of the time over the past 2 seasons, you get this; Good Zach, 2134 yards, 16 tds, 4 ints in 7 games. for 304 yards per game. A full season would be 5,472 yards, 41 tds, and 10 Ints. Common Zach, 5,250 18 tds 27 ints in the other 24 games for 218.75 yards per game. A full season of this Zach would put up 3937 yards, 13 tds, 20 ints. In 7 of Zach's last 31 games, he has been worth 600k. That is very comparable to what BLM and Rourke did this year. In the other 24 games Zach has played, well, you'd be better off taking Fajardo's worst 1.5-2 years. Or any other maligned QB that started in this league currently. Like MBT. 77.4% Zachs games played the past 2 seasons, he's been one of, if not the worst, starting QB in the league. If we fix "X", "Y", and "Z", does that mean we flip those games and see good Zach 77% of the time? Well, we didn't have the worst pass blocking OL over he past 2 years, far from the worst run game, and didn't have the worst WR core. (As dismal as the WR core has been, it has featured guys like Wilson, Demski, and Lawler over 2 seasons.) I don't see us having the ability to get a premium QB this year, even if we weren't locked into Zach. I think the best hope is that if we significantly improve at OC, OL, and WR, Zach will be a coin flip between league average (instead of arguably worst) and MOP. Yep, and when you see the fast turnaround without a year of bad ball, it's because of a QB change. Going from a mccheese to VAJ will flip your fortunes fast.
  2. Hall has been coaching in the cfl for 30 years and isn’t an offensive mind. Ourstaff has more than enough experience with this game to know how dismal our play and game plan was last year. And yet it didn’t help us a tiny bit. No reason to think they will start effectively micro managing the O with success. We’ve seen the same mistakes from staff to office, repeated over years all with crushing season ends. We’ve heard all the talk of change, and how we know what we need to do. The only thing that will give reasonable hope that next year will be different, is action. Idc if mos/walters came out and said jake/kola/hogan etc cost us, or pointed at every single failing and said all the right things for plans to actually fix the issues. Only actions matter now.
  3. That would certain help us next season, however we’ve seen like 3 good play off games from zach in all his time here. Even with phenomenal protection at times. At this point we’d need a blm type resurgence from zach. His play of the past two regular seasons has basically dipped to his average play off performance level as a bomber.
  4. no one will get a shot at qb as long as zach has a pulse and a contract
  5. If losing 3 gc games in row and in fashion, and hosting a gc didn’t change our approach, I don’t see how going 10-8 vs 11-7 and 12-6 will make that swing. I sure hope they do but I’m not holding my breath.
  6. Hodge was definitely a bit chippy in his article. Was this presser put on yt or any thing? It'd be interesting to see if he was that way in his questions to Mos. In terms of questioning Mos's decision-making, Noeller is right that he has the freedom to his privacy. He gave more than enough of the personal side. On the football side, it's fair game to push for actual answers. I have been seeing more and more chippy pieces about Mos/Mafia since late last year. And it's only going to get more intense unless they turn the team's trajectory around. Particularly, the second half of the article, where he gets away from the why he said no stuff, is when it gets interesting. This bit was interesting. According to the bench boss, he and general manager Kyle Walters have barely talked about offseason plans for the team’s roster. He declined to disclose the contract status of any of his assistant coaches, leaving it unclear who will return.
  7. https://3downnation.com/2025/11/18/mike-oshea-shares-rare-personal-insight-in-choosing-winnipeg-blue-bombers-over-toronto-argonauts/ This article from hodge has a few tid bits worth reading.
  8. sure wasn’t by a factor of 2 lol. I believe his deals here were pretty reasonable. Then toronto gave him crazy money.
  9. For me, I expect to be looking forward to individual development. Seeing some young guys take the next steps and maybe move up to an all star level.
  10. You thought the kelly and reinbold etc teams were going to get good? I kind of envy that. Free agency/coaching staff announcements will be the huge factor in me being able to find any optimism.
  11. You’re right, looking at reporting, it seems the initial report is always 1 year extension, then more details come out later. Odd. A 3 year deal in the cfl, is probably the most job security you can find in football. The coaching cap basically makes you untouchable for 2 years and even then likely only able to be replaced with an in house temp for the final year. Why would they fire him? Mos defended him at year end, and the mafia just got a long term lock up. mos/mafia don’t want change, and now likely won’t make significant changes. Do you, or any one else had any hope that this will actually happen?
  12. If we save 100k, that’s a nice chunk. Imo, I’d rather find another ni back to split carries with peterson, or develop mci and find another developmental guy. Yeah, 2 year deal.
  13. Mos views teams guys reps as important as D/O. He has only started canadian lbers when absolutely forced into by injury, or absolute lack of options early. He’s got both shay and smith penned in for teams only when they should’ve gotten D reps Does any one think kornelson is a better guy to have fill reps than shay or smith? We could’ve gone imp at dt and ni at one lber spot. He also sat clercius for corcoran, that guys top speed is the same as old people who mall walk. Mos isn’t enamoured by canadians as much as lunch box types with football iq. When those guys happen to be canadians, it’s a wet dream for him. The marine was playing most of the season here in 23, when burtenshaw was sitting on the pr. The lber/fb super sub sts guy we drafted and lauded until mos fell in love with jackson. Same goes for charbonneau. You can also look at guys like Rosery, who did every thing we asked to the point of going back to school working on pass catching came back again, shined in his few opportunities to be cut while we kept wastes of space. Petermann too, it’s almost like the more athletic and upside a canadian has the less mos likes them. He’s always gets stuck on the sub par athletes.
  14. Both walters and mos have been working off 1 years for a while. No coach/gm on a team consistently trending soo sharply down and fell backwards into the last play off spot gets a 3 year deal in the cfl. Yeah, we are cooked if they don’t turn it around fast. This is brutal.
  15. I’d say it was atleast close. Kinda ugly football. Shame! lol. Mtl sure didn’t play like they wanted to win and didn’t deserve it with there effort.
  16. he was. He was also just great at every thing, need yac? Deep ball? come back? screen? name it.
  17. Any possession wr needs to be a down field possession guy, like lawler. Tall, lanky, long strider, athletic enough to one cut separate a bit and able to dominate 50/50 balls. We don’t need more corcorans and 10 yards and less catch when open the fall down. Tbh, our wr core needs a lot. wilson, demski and big kev. we need as much wr as we can get in the last two spots. Really need a wr1 and maybe a 3.
  18. A Maas team with that kind of billboard material? Oh hell yeah
  19. I’d only resign if hamilton is paying 300k+ incentives and giving the starting role. Hes gonna have a huge market draw. It’s him and kelly. Forget whoever else the league could lose this off season at qb. especially 1 season after the draft plus. Doesn’t make sense that they extended him through a similar term. I wonder if they renegotiated his contract. It’ll be interesting to see what they write him in as in next years 3dn article.
  20. Jake is for sure a great guy. I’d buy it of kola too. I mean they haven’t been playing on merit of their on field contribution.
  21. all depends on his deal. He might’ve gotten or might get 100k like last year.
  22. If hogans back / we don’t do a major re tooling that shows serious change, the whole team is cooked
  23. For my money, that would be the most valuable canadian. That’s why I think we should be developing guys like wallace with the mobility at rt first, and kick them inside if it doesn’t work out. Yeah a lot of heavy pay days to canadians end up being bad deals. Milt was pushing fringe starting qb money. So in today’s game, i’d bet he’d want 330-400k. Blink would be hard to price. Imo, the top pay for a rb should be incentive based, pay some thing like 165k base, and chance to go up to 195-205k. Sure, pay premium for the mop campaigns. If you go over on the back end deal with it. Free agency is one of the few chances to add significant talent now. We don’t see major nfl free agent upgrades more than once every few years any more. That’s what wasting cap space really does. Make you miss out on the only chance to retool. Except every game brady and harris before him, missed, our run game didn’t miss a beat. Half the league has a high end rb as we saw this year. The issue with that is, we likely have to pay wjs money for a high end dl, logan plus vaughters might get us a second end, and bryant’s replacement would need an increase via free agency. We need to spend more on wr, ol, and Dl. we aren’t going to stay with in what we pay those positions and retool. We need to cut else where.
