30 yards off an out in the first aannnd another td
-
yup. our starters today would do worse in that game lol. This could end up being among the ugliest bomber play off losses of the century, by mid way through the 2nd
-
he’s been reliable for atleast two horrific snaps every game for about a year and a half
-
hogan: just for that we’re gonna chuck it deep and not run all quarter kola does kola things
-
must’ve been an over sight

whelp gonna be one of those nights. been preparing for this, and still it’s such a piss off

keys to the game pound the ball with brady win the turn over battle find ways to score tds

ohhhhh yeah

that’s big blow to their dl, and they could be missing a few guys or playing some real banged up guys. what a piece of trash. He threatened to send dirty picks of an ex he was feuding with to her under aged kid. wow. I’m surprised the als didn’t tell him to use pull a lemon so he could play. When the als come out and cut a guy for that stuff this quick you it’s serious.

I would love that, but balancing snaps for the naturalized canadian is too big brain for us. our idea of tri level chess is playing checkers against early years kids. I guess our win condition is, don’t get blown out, no turn overs, and 3 or more sts tds…

we boned That depth chart is putrid No griffin but we have lawson jr backing up along with vaval? 3 dis at db for back ups when 2 can’t play db well? Double canadian starting dt with no back ups is just screwing around with the gdr. not keeping one of the imp dl who kicked ass last week is just sick. no back up rb? mmk corcoran over clerius? nice no backup qb with league experience, also nice. but they moved ayers back to lber! lol 6 dl with 2 canadians and 1 global is almost certainly the thinnest dl fielded in the league this year. 9 starting canadians, no naturalized american or designated ni etc, chefs kiss. play mad tvs lowered expectations into before the game cus talent and athleticism is over rated. We like loose hips and guys too smart to be good
-
man, If demski is that close, even if he goes what level of play is he gonna be able to bring? Don’t like that. No Demski and if we stay married to the old guys on the dl, that’s soo hard to over come.

Cfl starters do tend to be a bit older than nflers. they start later and end later. -

I’ll say he’s far from the biggest issue on our D, and he is a good football player. Like many here, he’s limited but isn’t played with in those limits. Combine that with the fact we have younger, and canadian, guys with more upside and it’s frustrating. I wouldn’t worry about his age much tbh, he’s fairly low wear and tear for his age. When he loses a step that will probably be it, as is almost always the case in football. -

rourke had 2 games under 280 yards passing, and 12 games 300+, with 2 over 280. Only 2 games with more picks than tds, he threw for a td in all but 1 game. 2 400+ games 2 4 td games, plus 5 total tds in week 16. Harris had 6 games over 300, 2 3 td games, 2 no td games, 2 more ints than TDS games, and 6 real games with less than 280 passing. vaj had 4 games 300+, 4 3 td games, 7 no passing td games, 4 more ints than td games, and 11 games with less than 280. I think you can make a very good case that vaj was the mvp, as a lot of calgarys turn around was him. But bc had an atrocious D for a big chunk of the year and rourke carried them. If rourke was in calgary, I think they finish first. For my money, ssk had far more to work with for harris. Better line, deeper wr core, much better team and position to be put in on each drive. Rourke was the lions this year. If you swapped harris or vaj to bc, I think we are playing a home game in the play offs. Imo, Rourke is a slam dunk as moc and mop in any reasonable world. In the cfl, riders bias vs kid canada bias, I have no clue what to expect. you nailed it with how much of a difference maker rourkes legs are this year. I think he’s the better qb with out the yards or rushing tds, but his mobility is a big part of what enabled him to succeed. Just like prime zach with buck and bourgoin, the roll out is deadly. I think elgersma is our only medium to long term shot at contending short of finding a crazy winning power ball ticket type of player. -
but hey why let reality get in the way of a hot take?

it makes sense to do that when you have a bunch of wrs and few rbs who deserve it. -

Also, the 4 leading rushers are in the west, including brady leading yards from the los. So arguably the best backs in the league don’t make the list, but all the 1k wrs save for one makes it. The all star list/system is dumb. It should be first and second team all cfl, With flexibility for positions to make sure you represent the best talent not just positions. -

You pretty much nailed it with the last sentence. Reality of the league is, we don’t have impact players at mac. For me, I’d rather take a guy who was injured but dominant. Like kyrie in his best years. After that, I’d pick a hands up pass rusher, extra end or extra db especially at sam. A better than average sam does far more to help his team than a top mac right now. I knew they’d fall into the trap of picking Jones. I was only surprised we didn’t front him for modp. The guy in the west I would pick if i had to pick one, would actually be aj allen (riders, I know ew) he was the best in the division, while thurman is a big padded tackles guy (and the best of the padders) allen was exceptional at getting back in coverage and has tremendous football iq. In the east and very similar in game to allen is Darkangelo. The guys like that, and kyrie (in his prime) weren’t running around like bighill and soli making the flash plays. They excel by playing much larger areas than the box. It’s exceptionally hard to be a true side line to side line player in the cfl. Border line impossible. But the guys who play one has to opposite side line (kyrie,) and/or from the gaps back into the secondary (biggie) are the real stand outs. -

This is the equivalent of, "I did my own research on Google, and it told me the scientists are wrong!" Tackles are awarded on every single non-scoring offensive snap. All a tackle stat says is you were in the same place when the play ended. Not to mention how spuriously they are awarded in this league without half tackles/Asts. -

4 TFL in an every-down role, over an 18-game schedule, as a run-stopping only imp Lber is really bad. Awe and Sankey are both classic cases of tackle padders after yards are gained. Take a look back at the thread I made about the average depth of tackle. I broke down multiple games, especially with Aw,e where he was racking up 10+ tackles and huge amounts of them came after first downs, and greater than average yards per touch had been achieved. Lber is simply the lowest value starting position on Ds in this era. Wil and Mac, for most teams, are relegated to spying Qbs/Rbs and trying to get in the way of pass lanes. That's why so many teams are flipping those spots. Take a look at those 3 LBER teams, and their yards per rush against, rushing yards given up, average rush yards given up on first down, opponent rushes on first down, and big runs given up. If tackles dictated success, you would expect to see similarities in outcome for all 3 teams, and since they were the 3 top linebackers in tackles, that they would be 3 of the top, if not the top Ds across the board vs the run. Only, that is not what you see. What you find is that those 3 teams rank all over last through 2nd in the league in those stats. And that the team that consistently is the top against the run, isn't one with the top tackling Lbers or players in general. Last year, the top tackling team was the riders, with a slightly better than average D. This year, they don't, and they are the best front half D in the league. And who did they turn to at Mac this year? A role-playing Canadian, who, despite having fewer tackles, had a better year than Jones. He 87 tackles with 4 sacks, 3 picks, 3 FF, 4 TFL, and 4 PKDs. Tackles at mac, are an indication of teams running between the tackles. A high volume of tackles 5 yards down field and further, is an indication of not making the play in the gap and coming back to drag a guy down. -

people love to over rate tackles especially at lber. and/or is willing/planning to throw his coach under the bus in case of crash. I don’t think walters will do that, I think he will take the bullet for mos. correlation is not causation. Tackles are not a success indicator at lber or db. jones barely has any tfl, he’s not making stops at a depth where he/we are winning the snap. Most of his tackles are 5 yards and further down field. If he didn’t make those stops, some one else would’ve for comparable outcomes. He wasn’t running around like ray lewis making massive stops and stuffs. -
that either means day off, or out long term. in this case i suspect they aren’t hurt thankfully. No kidding. I’ve got an uneasy feeling about this game. big dude too. Reminds me a little of ceresna. Not as heavy, But easily looks strong enough to tear it up at 3t/4i and book end. It’s insane how many outliers we have on the dl, and how few of them we use.

If he has an opportunity to take a gm job in ontario, or maybe run a good osu team, I think he will take it. -
