at some point you need to play to win. I just have no idea what that point is for our staff
-
you need a hitch/ shallow hook on that, and you can’t execute option with the whole field don’t run it in the red zone where it’s hardest to execute
-
terrible play call
-
how do we lose 5 yards on off setting misconducts lol
-
questionable scrawled but great check down very nice job of edge sealing by mci boy sterns looked like he was shot out of a cannon
-
back to back excellent plays by woodbey
-
well corcoran blocks like a db, runs like a linemen but has hands so mos loves him
-
that sell out for the hit at the catch was brutal gotta stay disciplined

I don't think Hogan will comit to running the ball enough, and I don't think the OL will win the battle vs the riders front 6. Micah and Shane are out for the riders, but otherwise that front is intact and still pretty deep with 2 DIs on the dl.

I don't think legacy plays into the picture at all. I don't think Mos has thought about his legacy for a second. I suspect he thinks this is the best way to win. All you need is football IQ and character. But football has one of the biggest advantages in sport towards athleticism and raw talent. When you deprive your self of those factors, you hurt your chances to win. You need those guys to balance out a roster, but it's like building a house out of nothing but mortar. No bricks, no boards. If you look at our roster by position groups, how many positions do we have 1 player can go out and just dominantly win a snap 1on1 with the opposition? Imo, wilson with some regularity, a couple ol with no regularity at all, lawson/woods with no regularity at all, wj same, vaval and nichols. When I look at Hamilton's offence alone, I see more guys who can do that with far greater regularity. When I look at the riders, I see significantly more on each side of the ball than we have on our roster, and again with far greater regularity. People look at that and will blame Walters and the front office. But I see us sitting and cutting guys who can do that and become guys who do that with regularity for guys who can't do that and won't become that.

3 keys - Bombs away, we need hamilton zach or old mop zach to show up. We need the win, but we also need a statement and a momentum building after last weeks bed crapping. WR step up, we've cycled through a bunch of guys and now with demski out, we need guys to step up more than ever. I expect a big game from wilson, but some one else needs to take the next step or two as well. Turnover battle, we have to win it. We've been crushed by the rate of our own failures this year, and we need to get past that immediately.

A great example of a glue guy, imo, is Sheed. He wasn't a top 3 WR, and he didn't need to be. He was the last imp wr on the roster, but after some early career struggles, was as reliable as can be, blocked his ass off, ran the sweep, and did all the little things extremely well. He was also a tremendous character guy, a leader, and a culture setter. Early on when he was fighting his hands he was on the verge of getting cut. And when we got to a point where we needed to save money and develop more young wrs he was gone. Imo, he was gone a bit too soon. But he brought a lot while he was here. You don't need that guy, but you sure are glad to have him when hes here.

his vets loved him, and guys loved playing on those teams. they were a serious draw to free agents. but at the same time, he kicked guys to the curb the moment they dropped off. didn’t matter what they did in the past or what they earned.

I’m not a fan of either pick, but I think mgk is a better fit with the target demo and players than country. I mean, I think he’s pretty close to pop country, but atleast he’s in a better direction. Pass thing, they shouldve done some staggered release of tickets and added more.

If you think selfish, me first players in football generally had short careers, you’ve soundly fallen out of touch. Their careers aren’t shorter than any one else’s, and their numbers in modern pro football is extremely high. Dickie never put any kind of stamp on those riders teams. that was all chris jones through and through. they didn’t flush the jones way of doing things till this regime now. That regime didn’t value talent over character, they recruited only for talent and at times seemed to prize the toxic head case types. It’s not a question of one guy more or less talented. Talent is a small glimpse production. Hubert last year wasn’t a tremendous talent, he was and is a very good role guy despite his talent level because he was smart, tough, and had good hands. The problem is we start guys no one else would. It’s not a potential talent thing, or athleticism thing, or a fit/production thing. It’s literally all of those with guys like kola and jake. They are so far below the average replacement level it’s terrifying. Look at a guy like christopher fortin. True rookie canadian starting, was the last pick of the first round. He is soo much better than kola it’s not even funny, but what’s worse, is he would probably be our 2nd best ol this year. Half our games he might be our best ol. Veresuk is also starting as a true rookie canadian, he was the second pick, but he’s out played veteran imports on our team. We plugged in guys like allen, and woodbey making our D better, months after continually trying to force fit bad players. We’ve done this every year for a long time. We kept hammering collin kornelson not just onto the AR but into high volume rotation over a bunch of better players while handily over our ratio requirements. These are heavy handed, undisputed downgrades we forced our self to endure because we didn’t want to play the best players. That’s not even scratching into repeatedly hammering guys like biggie and schoen into the line up when they were badly compromised in terms of health and un able to perform. It’s not arm chair qbing, it’s not conspiracy theorists or wild accusations. It’s now becoming so prevalent that even the complacent media are firing shots at our coaching. Roster management issues have always been the reality. We backed ended into an all time squad and rode it into the dirt. Every team needs glue guys. but you have to have the pieces to glue together. other wise you’re just glue, and we are pretty close to that now. Half our cap is tied up in guys who are fringe league guys.

They did bring in 3 guys essentially for one spot, in white, sterns and mitchell. But they could’ve brought in some one who was less of a hail mary. White was the best of them in camp imo. Glad lawson is off for houston too. It’s wild though how thin we are at soo many positions.

not only that, cobb is far pre valuable for depth on teams than corcoran
-
yep sure sounds like it. I think corcoran will play over cobb. Should be cobb though.
