Well that sucks about Dean, I'd certainly take one of Reed or Woods as well but Dean would have been my 1st pick.
As for the prediction that Thomas goes to sask... thanks for angrying up my blood. ABS!  (anyone but sask)

Taynted_Fayth got a reaction from SPuDS in What's the biggest difference(s) in 2017-18 vs past years?
I can't speak for others, but for myself I have been trying to follow the Jets (as I have in years past) but only seem to catch final scores, the odd interviews on like Jets Lunch or something off 1290 and pretty much word of mouth via posts on here or FB or ppl I talk to. So I'm curious what everyone think was the biggest difference so far this year vs other years? I'm guessing the 14'-15' season with 43-26-13 (99 pts) was our best record since coming back so there seems to be some sort of little miracle happening here to be at 66 pts barely over half way thru the reg season.  So please lets hear what everyone thinks is the main reason or reasons for this and is it sustainable in future seasons.

The only parallel I see with the Chris Williams situation is he potentially wants out of his contract to take a shot in the NFL, which if true makes me think these scenarios only occur when said team gets a contract in a drawer first. Perhaps something Wilder wont do because the amount the argos may be offering upon his return is not enough to satisfy him so they put the spotlight on his current contract as the issue but I don't think it really is.  He gets a raise and then what? skips out on the NFL opportunity(ies) because he's getting an extra 30K?
Sounds like Popp isn't totally buying the NFL angle either saying if they have been in contact with Wilder it's in violation of the CFL/NFL agreement as he's under contract.  I try to feel for a player getting paid decent money to play a game for a few months out of the year but I don't overly, especially when they put their name on a contract.

With it being less then 2 months away I'm surprised there isn't more spotlight on this.  Not sure how it was ran in Regina last year but do you need to buy tickets to specific events?

I almost forgot about it TBH. seems like everyone was all jazzed about it last year and the event went well, but since they announced we would have it this year there's been very little press on it. I'm excited for it as well. I usually try to take in a couple rookie/TC practices but I think this just offers so much more.  Will definitely be booking some time off for this

I actually asked Darren Cameron about this on Twitter last week....says lots of planning is being done. I'm excited for it. Flying home  on the Thursday night, and hoping to take in events on the Sat/Sun. Should be a time!

I am a WWE Network subscriber.  You get the channel that is just like any other channel and you also get access online to basically anything that has ever been produced by WWE, WCW, and ECW.  You have to wait a couple months for RAW and Smackdown to hit the archive but everything other than that, including PPVs, is up right away.
So its a channel and its also like Netflix for wrestling.  I love it.

In Canada, its a terrestrial channel.  So if you have cable (or satellite), you'd contact your provider and that channel becomes unlocked.  I
Also, someone else can give you better info.  But initially, you didnt have much access to archives.  I *think* you can go online and get the archives though.  But its not like the Network in the US.  WWE licensed the rights to Rogers.
    Channels are listed here:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_Network_(Canada)
The good thing about being a terrestrial channel is, the quality is crystal clear HD.  From time to time, the signal has issues in the US (not often though).
Also, in many cases, when you try to cancel, WWE offers you another month (or three) to stay.  So you might be able to leverage the free 30 days into getting WM for free as well!  While I dont go online to watch archives, the live feed channel has some great content.

Its tough to say where some of these QBs are at. I thought Adams showed reasonably well in his first few starts - i believing winning his first 3 - but has since been saddled behind QB's much more along then him and as such been relegated on the depth charts.  The reason why I think he'd be the odd man out in sask is because they just resigned Bridge to likely more then he was making,  just signed Collaros to a huge salary, and its been reported adams is on a higher contract then then a usual rookie one.  At some point they will need to trim some $ to get under the cap or to open up some funds for FA. I expect Adams to be one of them and Williams assuming the #3 spot

I have zero confidence in our scouts we can find anything worthwhile when it comes to QB prospects. Hell most of the QBs in the league playing were recruited from other teams. That entire rider stable outside of Williams was other teams finds, Collaros, Bridge, Adams...   in the CFL its never really about who you can find its about who you can sign and retain

I originally typed out a post I ended up deleting but it was pretty much I'd take a hard pass on Durant or Glenn back when they were without a team and wait for Adams to be released in sask.  He's already been doing the short yardage stuff to replace Lefevour and has started and won games to be a potential QB to groom and be the future essentially replacing Davis as well.  I guess Durant kind of fill;s that roll too but is much more expensive, and much much older to been seen as any kind of future so he's a stop gap and come 2019 well be back in the same position

Sounds like its $450-460K guaranteed, which is less then the reported $550K he was scheduled to make but that's still a ridiculous amount of cheddar being forked over toa QB coming off a garbage season.  Jones is channeling his 2017 Kavis Reed...

meh Thomas had better stats then Steele last year and has been a bomber for 5 years now.  Steele might be from wpg but IMO Thomas has probably endeared himself to Oshea and will likely continue to have a job here

you guys know your in the wrestling thread right?

Has anyone seen a show called The Wrestlers on Vice ? They played a few episodes last night, first one I caught was on Mexicans/Luchadores trying to break into the US market but also life in mexico as one goes...  1 part I thought was cool was in Tijuana they have a Lucha stoplight. Like the way we have pan handlers or people who wash your headlights,  but its a couple of guys who bust out ladders and chairs and start doing flips n beating each other during the red light for change.  guys ended up getting spotted by Konnan and put on whatever promotion he was running out there at the time (Crash Wrestling?).
The other episode was more about behind the curtain stuff and while most of it is common knowledge if you've followed wrestling for any significant amount of time, its still always neat seeing different POV and the odd ball thing picked up - like a wrestler after his match wanted to go sell his merch but the promoter was pretty adamant that as long as their were matches still going on/coming up it was not a good idea to potentially pull audience away from viewing those matches by offering them something else to do if they weren't necessarily interested in the match(es) to be.  Makes sense but maybe things you don't really think about from a fans pov

I saw on tv yesterday they are turning Corner Gas into an animated series. TBH I'm not a fan of the show and I can't imagine it being a cartoon is going to suddenly breathe new life into it, making it a good show, or suddenly appeal to a younger audience...

Always wondered why/how Luke just put it upon himself to somehow spy on Bens dreams as he notices he's struggling with some internal conflict. If that was common place when there is concern with a padawan you would think Yoda/Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon Jinn/Mace Windu or anyone else who came across a young angry and scared Anakin all those years ago would have said oooh snap we got a future darth vader up in here, lets light saber his ass now.
Didn't like the comedy, too much too often,  felt like they were trying to make a marvel SW. And I think force floating Leia in space was my least fav part of the movie,  really started to lose interest after that point
