pfttt. You must have a short memory. I remember Armia ALWAYS playing a defensively smart game. I remember Armia going in the corners and against the boards and coming out with the puck and winning his battles. I remember Armia setting up his linemates numerous times every game, not just against Dallas. I also remember Armia being a very, very good PKer.....something he has done most of his career.

This is what happens when you are defending a lead and taking penalties. 

Trouba has arguably been the best defenseman on the team since he came back. He is not anywhere near the reason this team is where they are.

I will give credit where credit is due. I am probably the hardest of anyone on Stafford but he played a pretty good game today. I really really like morrissey's game and trouba had a really strong game as well. Most veterans played very well.

I honestly think that it is a development year and if we do make the playoffs that is just gravy. This team has not been built or is not being built for this year. Chevy has done a hell of a good job with the salary cap and I really don't forsee any problems in the next 2 or 3 years.

The players negotiated about a week off in February...Jets have from 20-27 off.
The playoffs run into June as it is so what else could they do?
There are teams that play more b2b than we do.

Perhaps more say on who gets called up. I think maurice will decide who goes down and I think elc contracts play a role also

Only in Winnipeg do the fans start planning to fire the next coach before he's even hired yet.  We want a coach with a winning record for a team that isnt a winning team in talent.  If it was that easy, teams wouldnt bother scouting and drafting - they could just hire winning coaches.

There was an interesting dicussion on H&L last night when they talked about the news the NHL would agree to the Olympics in exchange for the PA not opting out of the current CBA.
Lawless said players hate the current CBA because of the high escrow.  But Hustler rightly pointed out what other option is there?  They have an agreement that the league and players split revenue 50-50 so the high escrow is because the players are signing contracts for salary that is greater than 50% of league revenue and thus, have to give some of that money back.  Hustler asked what other option is there?  Lawless said he had no idea but that the players want an entirely new system where they get their money.
So I'd expect a pretty tough negotiation next time.  And just remember when the PA claimed the owners were greedy when they made more than 50% of revenue, the players are going to want more next time.  Not sure how you argue 50/50 isnt fair...
My only question is this: if every off-season the league and players agree on the cap and every season they determine the players took more than their share of league revenue, doesnt it stand to reason the cap is too high?  Players are paying 15% escrow and only getting around 3% back.  So every year they are paid 12% more than their share.  Wouldn't dropping the cap by 12%, rolling back salaries by 12% lower escrow?  And if every year, the league takes the escrow money, why does the cap keep rising?

I would say that the criticism of Trouba has not been that he doesn't keep in shape but that he doesn't push himself the same way Sheif does. That's not really fair criticism for a variety of reasons, including, that we don't know what he does because he keeps that private and Sheif reportedly pushes himself harder than anyone.

Mathias and Armia will be long term. Not for another month earliest.
