  1. No way the Lions move Rainey. They're still in the hunt.
  2. Seems coincidental at best. And besides, the Argonauts were losing a lot even before they got him. I agree on the guy being poison and I wouldn't want him in blue and gold unless the trade involved him getting a brain transplant.
  3. You forgot the "1990" in your witty chirp, dildo. 27 years to catch up and the green machine hasn't even made it halfway. Four championships in 107 years... The definition of inept.
  4. So, it could work if the majority of countries actually got on board and worked cooperatively...? That seems like a lofty aspiration considering the sociopolitical state both here and around the world. What does that do for Canada and Canadians if a carbon tax is implemented while other countries continue to pollute excessively? It seems like a drop in the bucket when looking at the big (global) picture. A couple more noteworthy parts from that Forbes article: In theory, it sounds feasible. But it relies on a considerable number of moving parts to be realized effectively. Realistically, when looking at the world as a whole, does that seem feasible? Here's the full article for anyone interested: https://www.forbes.com/sites/howardgleckman/2018/10/10/bill-nordhaus-the-nobel-prize-climate-change-and-carbon-taxes/#5fabc0d96a03 And a link to Nordhaus' research: http://www.econ.yale.edu/~nordhaus/homepage/kyoto_long_2005.pdf
  5. Well said. I agree 100%. A carbon tax solves what, exactly? In the grand scheme of things, nothing. Especially when you consider what other countries are doing, ones that are less regulated and significantly more populated.
  6. Yeah, I'd have to agree with that: https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-rumors-october-9-2018/ Concussions are no good - and Mason seems to realize that. Moreover, I highly doubt the Penguins would want to sign another goalie with concussion issues.
  7. Overall, a great card on Saturday. That BS after the main event was pretty sickening, though.
  8. "Reverse onus..." LOL That's not how burden of proof works. You made a claim and now can't even back it, instead choosing to make absurd reaches across an entire roster of players over several seasons. Epic job moving the goalposts of your already spurious claim. You fall back on Jackson yet again, but the reality was the team had better returners back then*. You even go so far as to make excuses for a player under contract (Givens) not showing up to camp and instead blame the organization. And the best part is you can't even name more than one player (Collins) the team cut loose who's having an impact in the league on another team right now, despite saying "look at all the talent we cut loose that continued to play well in the league after." Logical fallacies for days. * Troy Stoudermire in 2015 (http://cflstats.ca/player/7425/troy-stoudermire), Quincy McDuffie in 2016 (http://cflstats.ca/player/7705/quincy-mcduffie)
  9. The inconsistency of the officiating this season has been disgusting. The league touted the whole "eye in the sky" BS but is it ever used? The CFL has a long, long way to go before it even gets competent officiating. It's something Ambrosie needs to take a hard look at sooner than later and make some actual improvements.
  10. Rod Black is such a turd. Anyway, I'm glad they got the win. That collapse late in the game shouldn't have happened, though. Too many of those under Hall's tenure as DC, IMO. Adam Bighill needs to be kept long-term. He and Santos-Knox are an awesome tandem.
  11. What has Thorpe done in the CFL? Nothing since he requested his release after being a baby about getting put on the PR only to jump ship and end up on another team's PR. He isn't even in the league anymore. Jackson didn't accomplish much of anything until last season, a full two years after the Bombers released him. Does the team even need another tailback, anyway? Nope. Flanders can't even crack this roster on a regular basis. Givens didn't report to TC this year, so how's that on the Bombers? White was given a fair shake and couldn't crack the roster. He's caught a grand total of 3 passes since then. Stafford was also given an opportunity last season and he squandered it, much in the same way Bowman did this season. Collins is the only player you listed on whom I think the Bombers missed the mark. He's been a good receiver and the Bombers should've kept him. Thanks for clarifying but I still don't agree. Who else "like Lankford" did the team keep over "all the talent" they cut loose? Name some players actually contributing in the league at this very moment - and not ones who were released two or more years ago. Substantiate your claim and make your case.
  12. I don't know if correlation implies causation in that particular instance.
  13. Which was when Lankford wasn't even part of this organization (he joined the Bombers in 2017). Anyone making the claim the team kept him over Jackson is out to lunch. Or even Collins (released prior to the 2016 season). That being said, however, why the hell is Lankford still here? He's basically useless on offense.
  14. This. A million times this. Piss on the blue foliage.
  15. Sickening how history repeats itself. Just an ugly cycle.
  16. Yup, today's weather was bullshit. Seriously, the last few weeks have been garbage weather-wise. Where the hell is fall?!
  17. https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/planet-nine-tg387-1.4845760 Amazing!
  18. I totally get it, @Mike. It's easy to feel apathy/indifference towards the WFC these days. Things don't seem to be getting better - and that absolutely blows.
  19. I don't think he was comparing - there's little use in doing so, anyway. @Mike's comments lead me to believe he's just fed up with this regime and how it operates. A regime in year 5 still struggling to be consistently competitive, much less win a playoff game. Those are two pretty significant strikes against it.
  20. Yeah, this news chaps my hide. "The Bombers don't need a towering deep threat capable of making solid 50/50 catches," said nobody ever.
  21. Nailed it. That's Flatbilly Nation in a nutshell. Nov. 2013: "Darian Durant is the greatest Rider ever! What a legendary QB!" Nov. 2015: "Darian Durant is just a greedy, selfish jerk. He's also overrated and injury prone."
  22. Field position really helped as far as the offense's lack of production on Saturday. Offensively, the game was managed well enough, particularly by Nichols. But there was nothing great about that performance, IMO. It was more or less the bare minimum to get the job done. The offense is a bit of a mess and that phase needs to improve down the stretch.
