  1. Past hour
  2. I think people are a little off with the NFL-feeder league talk but there is some real smoke around revisiting US expansion in a couple years
  3. I believe Schenn's family did move here. "Now with his family in tow, as he prepares for his 18th NHL season, the veteran defenceman is coming into training camp with ample enthusiasm."
  4. Why would the CFL be playing in American stadiums. The 'Murricans have zero interest in our game.
  5. The thing is - and I haven’t heard anyone mention this yet - if they wanted to go full American, they could’ve and didn’t even with the rules they did adjust. They made the end zones 15 yards, not 10. They made the play clock 35 seconds, not 40. They kept the width of the field and the rouge, they just slightly altered other aspects of those two categories.
  6. Ive been calling for 15yd NFL style endzones possibly all my life so im okay with it. I'm 50/50 on removing the 55 yarder. Now every field marker has got to wiped off the field and the old marks never really go away. They'll be there until the field gets replaced probably.
  7. I get the seating part to an extent...half dozen this....6 of that kinda thing tho...from upper level...looking downat goaline...of it shifted 5 yards is it really gonna make that much a difference....Maybe to the filed levelpeople in lower bowl That being said...the opposite goaline is now closer too....and you are closer to mid field as well now I agree tho...the removing of the 55 seems kinda pointless. Maybe they will rethink part of it if they get serious backlash....never know
  8. The point is to make it easier to fit un American stadiums
  9. This is just a veiled "improving the game" that aligns it more to the NFL.
  10. I think so. Points will theoretically be down with field goals being 15 yards further, so you shrink the field to mitigate that effect. I agree with you but there is a proven market for that type of seating.
  11. Shortening the endzone, making FGs harder and allowing teams to kill more time at the end of the game is going to = more exciting games I guess?
  12. Josh Demelo Sammy pionk fleury miller Stanley Schenn salo heinola they will keep 7 maybe 8 d max. Salo is waiver exempt so he’s on the moose for now. so 2 more. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Schenn traded back to Nashville unless his family came here (doubt it) but if not 2 of Stanley ville (likely 1 of the 2) Schenn or miller will be waived also. Or traded. maybe 3 if they only keep 7 D.
  13. I don't understand the point of shrinking the field ? Is the idea that with 100 yard fields that more points will be scored? Are these changes really going to make any sort of impact on creating interest and increasing revenue for the league?
  14. Think of all the extra revenue you can generate from players by fining them for drinking beer or eating nachos from tables in the Bet365 Field Level Lounge during a TD Celebration
  15. "PREMIUM" jesus he's never watched a game from the endzone and anyone who would pay premium prices for that doesn't care about football. I suppose that doesn't really matter though
  16. Hearing the changes did not make me call the ticket office and cancel my tickets, may need to look at relocating them though. Won't be much playing field in front of us at all, might get the goal line, will have to see... Really don't like the goal posts moving to the end zone, kick returns has always been one of the most exciting plays of the week and now they have eliminated the most exciting version.
  17. https://deadline.com/2025/09/miss-nelson-is-missing-movie-melissa-mccarthy-hello-sunshine-1236552076/ Hoo boy I wonder if Miss Swamp is going to lose her cool as if it were an SNL sketch
  18. I believe Stewart Johnson did mention the possibility of using the extra space for premium seating. Patio-type stuff seems likely.
  19. I think your completely wrong just yesterday I was talking to some nfl fans and they all said if all these changes occurred theyd watch the cfl... leagues done in 2028.
  20. The 100 yards field is stupid imo. None of this is going to draw in new fans.
  21. That's not true. I'm now in the endzone with my season tickets (upper deck 211), that I'm locked in to due to the GC ticket purchase. People who were in the endzone/goal line in the upper deck will now be behind or even deeper into it. Are we going to see a discount for this? The vast majority of stadiums got worse sight lines due to this. They talk about about field level seats, but those are horse **** for watching the game. I can live with most of the changes...but the shorter field and posts to the back are idiotic imo. Nevermind the cost the the pros, amateur ball is going to take a beating for this.
  22. I don’t think it’s the changing of the rules. I’m sure it’s not lost on any one of these executives that they are gaining 25 yards of space at field level - how do they use that? Field level patios? Influencer bullshit?
  23. Will changing the rules make people care? I don't see how. The only way to get asses in seats is to putting time and effort in your community. Toronto "we've tried nothing and got no results! It's the rules!"
  24. never took away the rouge...just the rouge that was not playable....and that I like.... Benches should never...ever have been same side...why some teams went that way is beyond me the change in field is minimal work...repaint the lines....move the posts.....you gain stadium space....not a big endeavor by any stretch its a fan sustained league....and may the hardcore fans are aging out...possible new ones know the NFL part...posts....no 55....so we wont be as foriegn They kept the core basis of the rules and game...save for a few really cosmetic changes, and limiting possible field goal returns....big whoop really What would people have preferred....keep all as is...Just go 4 downs?....doubt that would have been preferred Or eliminating ratio all together who many despise but would increase quality of play exponentially I was actually hoping for a reduction to be honest....as I dont watch the game to witness 12...to 15 guys from CIS schools running around chasing kicks...
  25. These rule changes are going to remove several elements that are unique to Canadian football. I'm kind of aghast. - Benches on opposite sides is reasonable. - I don't like taking away the rouge but I can understand it. Couldn't they keep it for punts but get rid of it for missed FG to skip rewarding failure? - I am not a fan of moving the goal posts. Bye bye to most field goal returns. - Changing the field size after the development of relatively new stadiums in 4/9 markets is nuts. It will mean that fans in the end zones and corners will be farther from the action factoring in the 5 yard shrinking of the field and 5 yard shrinking of the end zones. But I do understand shrinking the end zones for consistency with stadiums that can't handle a full 20. - If they were going to change something, I'd have added a fair catch instead of the 5 yard no yards rule that seems difficult to apply accurately in any case.
