  2. Nah. Smith is NOT a hb. He has a fringe chance to be a S. Realistically, he is likely to end up a full time wil that doesn’t need to be subbed for a db in the dime pack playing the inside wall and hcf zones. He doesn’t have any of the fluidity needed to be covering guys straight up, nor does he have any of the experience in how to man or match. Mackonzo, is a real db who can play some lber. He could be a Sam, half, S or wil / dime. Canadians who can actually cover import WRs are rare. Most Canadian dbs are safety’s who camp out between the hash marks at 15-20 yard depth and play scare crow. Or teams guys to small to back up at lber. Makonzo, haggerty, Kelly, smith and shay likely mean we flip the wil to ni in the future, and stop having to use a di on a db. Likely meaning we declare 3 Canadians on D. But also having the flexibility to flip more spots, and have really good depth at the same time. We could even flip wil and Mac to go with Kramdi at Sam for an all Canadian lber core.

  4. Those two could make the signing of Hagerty and Makonzo redundant and flip the ratio favourably by this time next season, Shay as a starting LB and Smith as a Safety or HB.
  5. Maybe I am thinking of Ottawa and a different player... Edit: It was Lapointe and Montreal!
  6. Doubtful. Caretaker Bob has owned the team since 2003 and Hage was still in university at that point.
  7. WJ the freelancer. In my day, drove the coaches to rage. Sort of like cherry picking in hockey.
  8. Hoping the qb is dumb and throws it right to him.
  9. He was WAY back there... Wife and I both noticed that right away like WTF is Willie doing in the second level...
  10. Am I remembering this wrong or was he one of the original suitors when the team was up for sale?
  11. Experience consists of only two things: events and patterns. Events are singular, but patterns reveal realties, and Collaros has been trending downwards for more than two years. So were four other starters, and I remain unconvinced that a couple of token changes will right the ship.
  12. There was a play where Willie dropped back pretty deep into coverage. I think it was later in the game. Thought that was pretty funny
  13. He had 2 in the first game, only in goal line. I'm halfway through the 3rd of game 2 and he has 4 in this game. All at defensive end.
  14. Oh I agree. Would love to see both Shay and Smith gets reps. If they could be rotational pieces by years end and in the position that one of them starts in 26 that would be ideal.
  15. Right now i would say Jaylen Smith looks the best option to take reps...and we should be working him and Shay in regardless every game...that's how guys develop...they don't in practice....not how practices are run these days Both those guys already offer more to rotation than Hallett does and how many times last yr did we see him in rotation getting roasted over and over and we just kept on running him out there...both those guys should be getting looks all over in the LB group
  16. You take off Ayers. Easy. Shay, J.Smith, Cadwaller and Gauthier can all take linebacker reps.

  18. Maybe not yet, but he’s such a good route runner and excellent with the waggle. Not to mention tremendous football iq. He can be used so many ways. Hopefully hogan and zach get it working. Demski being banged up perpetually, and at some thing like 235k makes it so hard.
  19. Matthew Peterson (Wpg RB)
  20. the issue is our DI options right now are Ayers: Oshea is very reluctant to drop our best return coverage guy, and likely doesn't yet trust Shay enough to back up lbs Griffin Jr. ; has been one of our best defenders Castillo Vaval; who has been great as well Cooley: brings more to the offence than another receiver Until Olivera returns I don't see the above changing.
  21. Another semi interesting note via 3DN... Remember Marwan Hage, kids? Well, he's back! ...As a minority owner of the TiCats...
  22. Unfortunately as the science evolves, it seems in more and more cases recovery may not be an option, more of how to cope as best you can. Ask Matt Dunnigan.
  23. I dont think Schoen has that burst/seperation ability after the catch yey and Demski is always banged up so swapping out Sterns for a guy like Mitchel who has big play abilitywould be wise to open things up a bit
  24. The reality is players that get knocked out cold in the CFL often play again the very next week, pretty sure that's not enough time for proper recovery, but the league, the players and the CFLPA play along as if it is.
  25. If Harris plays having your 3 most visible players (Milligan, Ouellette and Harris) get concussions and play the next week almost seems to be verging on Coaching/Training Staff malpractice.
