  1. Past hour
  2. Tim burke. Haha, seriously he was a really good dcor. Just very limited in that role. Chris jones, yes a toxic waste dump of a leader, but tremendous dcor too. Halls style is oft maligned, and has a half life but is Ds around the league have evolved to adopt his style. I really like Bob slowik in calgary, he’s learned and taken a lot from jy and hall here. Noel thorpe is a better version of lapo for D. Brett monsoon is very good but hasn’t adapted well to roster change. In very fond of Baron miles and JY as guys on the upswing. If you wanna go back in time, ritchie and don mathew’s are two of the best from their era. But it’s extremely hard to compare D from the early 2ks and prior to today. The league is generally run by offence and OC minds. The Ds here are at a big disadvantage.
  3. O'Shea actually said he doesn't think Zach will play.
  4. At the risk of creating more PTSD here...Tim Burke
  5. hahaha....well I guess I used to be bouncing ay Teasers
  6. sounds like an interesting are of specialty. I love the intersections of engineering and the trades. I’ve worked on 4 different sides of it over the past 25 years and love it. Oh yeah, i’ve been on more than a few projects like that. actually most projects seem to have atleast one nutter lol. First rule of mbb, don’t ask people their age lol
  7. and Geneva convention dates https://people.com/hallmark-channel-2025-christmas-movie-schedule-11811709
  8. Who is the best Defensive Coordinator in the CFL (past or present) who's great at creating defensive systems that got the best out the players that were given to him?
  9. I'll start. I'm in the adult entertainment business. (wakes up goes to work feeling depressed).
  10. yeah....would be....Puts more of a face so to speak behind the username Was interesting just hearing of some here...and some of the ages!
  11. well in all honesty....i truly believe it's just cause Osh likes him...and thinks he offers value.....Not a good indicator of his ability to assess talent really when you look at it...cause if he thinks he's better out there than all our other DT's....based on his reps....he's really out to lunch, especially considering he offers no upside...is old..what...34 now?...and is very limited in what he could do, pretty much from his first yr
  12. In summary why is Jake Thomas playing? I know I know I exhaust me as well.
  13. Today
  14. I'm a software engineer and I help build aerospace tools, and the hardest part of my job is not coding or technical crap, it's all communications and learning. I have to learn enough about my customers' disciplines so that I can build software that's useful to them. Def no choice but to get out in the field and learn what they do by seeing it directly. It's never boring. be interesting to fire up a careers thread and find out what everyone does/did for a living. yeah, I've known some brilliant people who are not doers. those guys are so frustrating to work with, they can turn anything into a quagmire. on the other hand, I've also worked with hi-energy idiots, people who might be smart and eager but who have zero judgment -- those guys are dangerous. as in all things, you gotta walk the line.
  15. Figures Drew will be safe with our pass rush
  16. I should have asked them. I went there this morning after I took out some cash from the ATM machine
  17. Youngers system will work...but needs legit dline rotation with guys who are active...and possess slick technical skills...and know how to use hands...and can overpower and finesse we have 2 guys with all that...WJ...Person...Vaughters not as technical but has others and is smart Adams has good tech...hand skills and power...but needs to be allowed to grow/learn...Woods prob best all round DT...why he not on is baffling Lawson power and versatile The rest...posssss almost none of what you want in our scheme for regular reps...any reps really
  18. Yeah...field and real world experience in my opinion...and experience rules The book smart and calculator reliant guys were some of the worst engs I know I have site experience...inspection..GPS survey..and robotics...actually train people in it...so if you thrive in the dirt and see what the calcs and paper dictate...but can't figure out how to make it work in the real world...and more times than not 2d nonesense never does in the field...well...you flounder I way out the box...have to be...thats why Osh and his status quo and resistance to change...tweaks drives me nuts...I also coach yhe same way Yup...the busiest guy doing nothing! Seen it all too often If engineer companies aren't trying to poach you from where u currently are...you got no chops... I been poached 3x...chop chop lol
  19. Bingo, bango, bongo. You could insert other professions and say the exact same thing. Human beings are a funny and fascinating species influenced by so many things that make them who they are..
  20. Really depends on where you get and find the engineers. If they go out of school to work for the company they intern for and never move up, become stagnant in the profession and company, you bet. I've seen lots of those guys. I knew one in particular who was the proficient procrastinator I've ever met. he was a master of delaying work until it would disappear. If you get them out of the drone mills and into a field where they work hands-on, especially in an area of interest, you see wonders. School, work, and society have a way of drawing any passion out of work and intellectual pursuits. It's just about breaking that cycle. Math is rigid at low, basic levels. At higher levels, it's a very pliable problem-solving tool. If high level maths were completely rigid, they'd be easy, and they are not lol.
  21. Well they certainly like to think they are... So here's the thing, people revere engineers but most engineers can't think outside the box and are pretty rigid thinkers, goes back to the math.
