  2. If Khris Bogle has never been a regular starter in 4 years of college & hasn't lived up to expectations or potential then why should we believe that somehow a light bulb in his head is suddenly going to go off & he all of a sudden gets it? Generally by now at his age, a player either has it or he doesn't.
  3. Bogle is an interesting one. Highly recruited, unanimous 4-star recruit out of HS. Played a couple of years at Florida, then moved to Michigan State. Never became a regular starter or lived up to his potential out of HS. Very good athleticism and build, stronger than his weight would suggest, he's extremely lean, twitchy, good get off, has an excellent spin move, and a good motor. Boyd is similar. Polished, good frame that could hold more weight, excellent top-end speed, 3-star kid with polish who struggled to find a spot till his last year. Battle is pretty much the opposite. Instantly stepped in and started at the corner for NC state. tremendous size, mediocre measurables, but his speed plays better on the field than it tests. Quick twitchy, explosive type. Physical, very aggressive press corner type. Struggled more in zone, but his aggression is also going to be tough in man cover. Could be penalty-prone in any pro league. I think his wheels play much better in the CFL, and his fit could be good with JYs system if he can adjust. Played a ton of snaps, like 2400. If he can reign in his aggression and fit in with the system, he could be a very high-floor guy. Mayes has an interesting build for a wr, almost closer to a rbs build. Doesn't have great measurables, but a good track and basketball guy in Hs. Looks to have good hands. His qb, Ridder, was on our NL for a good while. They've seen a lot of him. He's got good polish, shifty runner. Whenever I see guys at WR in that 6' and under, 200 and under range, I wonder if they have been over looked alot for not jumping off the stat sheet, or if they are an overachiever. Mayes hands and polish make me think he's the overlooked type. I wonder if they view him as a slot back. If he can master the waggle, he could go far up here, very quickly.
  4. Glad we are once again free of jones, for a year atleast.
  5. What a waste of money. Just throw a hundred grand at some random qb & gift them a spot on the PR??? What about the other players already there?? The CFL is already signing UFL qbs. We have the UFL MVP. And people lose their minds when we sign Jefferson for what they think is too much money???

  7. Someone takes sci fi much too seriously. Our average lifespan won't go from 82 years of age for men to 95 or 100 in a decade. Not even in a century. Queeen once wrote & sang a Freedie Mercury composition, "Who Wants To Live Forever?" The Earth is already overcrowded. That's all we need is for humans to live forever. Even another 5-10 years into our 90's. We'd have geo poloicial issues. Water shortages & famine. Countries actually going to war & fighting instead of just threatening over resources.
  8. Yeah, have teams carry a 4th quarterback on the non game roster and pay them at least 100k. It will allow new guys a bit of time to develop instead of the constant re-signing of QBs when one gets hurt. 100k won't attract guys that would sign in the NFL but it may bring in guys that might otherwise sign with the UFL.
  9. As long as its not us. Even throwing on a Winnipeg Blue Bomber jersey would not expel the stink on how he plays.
  10. expected it when they grabbed sankey. Goes to show the value of tackles at the lber spot league wide. Funny thing is, sankey and awe are very similar guys. Sankey is better, and not a dirty bird. But not some giant step up. 200k is a solid increase. I’m glad it’s not larger, cfl teams are already struggling to find the mark on value at most positions after the last increase. I do think they should focus increases at qb though. The level or play at qb is abysmal and the brain drain of the nfl is kicking our ass.
  11. i’m loving it. But i’m sure some one will pick him up sadly
  12. I have no problem re-signing Willie so long as he has to compete for and actually earn the job. And his two brothers? Nyuck, nyuck.
  13. His CFL future may be in doubt, but he will live on forever in our postgame happy honker reports.
  14. Maybe Spam and hog bungs?
  15. Yip all the Jets are doing here are toying with fans feelings. Reality of how this season ends needs to speed up here.
  16. As long as people are cutting weight, there's not going to be a perfect solution & incidents like this will still happen if someone cuts too much weight. there are pro's & cons to it either way - one disadvantage of moving it to same day is that it doesn't eliminate risky weight cuts, it just give less time to recover. Like that guy could just as easily have face planted tomorrow with after a weight cut that clearly went poorly. The advantage is that same day's won't allow fighters to put so much weight back on so maybe they don't cut as much in the first place and force guys to fight closer to their natural weight. Some organizations/commissions have restrictions on how much the fighters can weigh much farther out than the UFC does. The WBC’s current guidelines advise that a boxer should not be any more than 10 per cent over the division limit within 30 days of the bout, five per cent within 14 days and three per cent within seven days. The WBC is currently studying if a switch to same day weigh-ins makes sense so we'll see what happens.
  17. I mean with science etc it's not hard to believe. There are some who believe the first person to live forever has already been born....
  18. Soon they'll be able to offer multiple mustards, meats other than bologna and lettuce on the sandwich bar.
  19. Yep, with the money being spent signing players, we knew the cap was going up but only triple compared to last year. Still going to be tight trying to sign other teams free agents.
  20. Thats on top of the 400k increase from last year.
  21. Agree. I'm looking for guys that are taking the next step. I think Brissett is one of those
  22. Eighty years? Some guys gonna live to 115??? CFL players need to find a job. Use their team's connections as well as their education to find careers. Like they did in the 50's & 60's. That was the big attraction for players coming up here in the CFL or Canadians coming out of university. Teams would find players full time jobs. It was a reason why players from the US stayed in Canada after their careers were over. Most of these players never had a problem with transitioning. A lot of players now just seem like slobs wearing sweats all day, Not working while they play, Just work out in the off season & do nothing else. It's okay if a player is established in the NFL but CFL players need to have a career job. Then the transition from playing is much easier.
