  1. Past hour
  2. Outside of run blocking (and Calgary is in the bottom third of run defense), I thought line play was terrible. Neufeld getting completely turned around .. Randolph giving up that late sack that nearly got Streveler killed .. Kolo being dog walked .. is not emblematic of good line play. Even Bryant's play is falling off but that may be more a sign that the unit as a whole struggling vs. Big Stan in isolation (though I do think he's no longer the premier tackle he used to be).
  3. Yeah i have no doubts they will win convincingly next game... but what does that mean when you don't have a bye between every game?
  4. tackles after yards were gained...lotsa whiffs too....and in coverage is a lost cause...but he inked a 2 yr deal pre-TC so we all knew he was penciled in as starter...Jake too....they need not even have attended camp really....they were safe J.Jones...the rookie Woodbey..Ayers....all would offer a more well rounded game...and be more versatile too...
  5. Tell me what the pattern is after coming off a humiliating loss and a bye week?
  6. in football...when players seem to perform well....and when they seem to perform like crap....it's generally on team prep and coaching/scheme leading into the game....what may look like a bone head play could be the player coached to do this...opposed to that Players cant go rogue or they will not see the feild.....that being said sure some times exceptional effort/talent can supersede poor prep/coaching...we saw a lot of that in 2019 thru to mid 2022....but are talent and youth has waned...a lot ans we have a HC who insists to look back...and not forward...and definitely not at whats going on currently Also....if guys are dogging it...or just not getting it done...thats when th HC needs to show he has a pair of stones in his saggy scrout and pull a player(s) and not worry about ruffling a vet's...or a fav's feathers or ego...plain and simple no point...Osh wont give a answer...will walk all around it or give a smug reply...and prob ask for CJOB to have your number blocked for future episodes haha
  7. Was a classic Jake tackle, reaches out and hangs on as the back is running past him. And I said during the game, T. Jones makes a lot of tackles but not a lot of plays.
  8. I still cant get over the fact when it was 99.9999% obvious the game was done by end of 3rd quarter, why wasnt Strev in getting valuable work....Why keep running your physical RB with a recent shoulder injury in a game that was not gonna be won...risking a set back?...he got enough work to knock any rust off Why didnt we go for 2 on our TD....If only for the sake of practicing it for when we may need it under live fire...we rarely go for it ever and when we do the odd time....its not generally a success....these are the games you should practice these things Same with the onside kick....we get it...great...we dont...big deal cause it wouldn't have mattered anyway so may as well get in the practice Just lame brain dumb coaching calls...
  9. '..maybe the play ran into him and he got credit.' Yikes. You know you're in trouble when (see bold above).
  10. I dont recall seeing Jake make a tackle...maybe the play ran into him and he got credit....and Jone's tackles generally are of the Awe type.... We need a infusion of youth and hunger on defence.....and athleticism up front based on this scheme we running.. I think Walter's needs to step up and be the decider on issues of who we sign/retain/...even play...It is obvious theygive Osh wayyyy too much say and I truly don't think he is a good evaluator of talent/usefulness....he values and likes certain things way too much over true talent but he also made a lot of huge catches for us in big games....was a reason we got to some of the big games and was a reason we won some of the biggest games too...would have been well worth it for a grey cup yr....dont have to sign himlong term...one and done...or re-up if he balls out....he also garners a lot of attention opening it up for others Adams played well...and with enthusiasm and some grit/anger flush it and move on is a big part of our issues/past failures...we dont adjust or do anything about it...that needs to change HC needs to park some butts....try some different guys....even call some out...Heck Dinwiddie does it...and has beat us 2x when it mattered years....and all most here say about it is "yeah but 5 ........" coaching....kills us at times... much like the last 3 Cups...Dinwiddie and Mass did it too
  11. Zachs always had an inclination to throw hospital balls. With the diminishing arm and touch it’s only gotten worse. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing similar wr injuries to last year.
  12. I'd add the ole 'we're not going to win every game'. 🙂
  13. I think some the issues with Schoen are mental and it's related to injury and he a bit gun shy to get wjhalloped...and thats normal coming off a reconstruct...thats why banking on hm as Schoen pre-injury was a dumb decision....What we Paid Mitchell...One of Sterns or White and Thomas would have been more than enough to keep Lawler...and we didnt spend to cap anyway....made no big splash...and even if went over a bit...big fricken deal reason why also that Strev should be getting reps whenever possible...he can run the quick stuff...and is a threat to run from it too....tempo a team to death at times he is essentially pointless...and even if we did use that ore...he's not a twitchy explosive guy who can take er to the house from anywhere....if we think thats the best we can do...we need new scouts///etc eons in football banking on a receiver of all positions coming off ACL is the stupidest place to do that...you can see already he's seeing ghosts and doesn't have that explosiveness after catch....and now that incident coming down from a suicide throw from ZC ...which is what I alluded to could happen way back in camp...thats also in his head now and it will be worse for him mentally...if he back after break, but I pretty sure he wont be...bring him back sure...but as a complimentary peice as he finds his way again....just dumb And as for suicide passes...ZC almost got Wheatfall killed last week...and that miss in the endzone last night...was an inexcusable miss for a 600k a yr QB but good thing he missed bad cause if he would have went up and got it...likely would have been crumpled again....he's lucky Clercius is a beast as he's set him up multiple times too for utter punishment
  14. obviously the attitude and the casual oh well demeanor permeates from above?....that was pathetic and embarrassing last night save for about a handful of players
  15. Today
  16. But it's not just one game, it's a pattern of things that has been emerging for a couple seasons now. Leaning hard on old guys who can't go like it's still 2021. This type of game will happen more and more often unless they make some hard decisions.
  17. James Butler
  18. I wouldn't cut Vaughters and have not given up on Willie. The Jake Thomas thing I'm still 100% amazed that he sees the field? When his lone highlight of the season is him being bullied and accidentally falling/rolling into VAJ which resulted in possibly hurting him is depressing. I don't think outright cutting Thomas will completely 180 how they would of played last night... but it is one of the few decisions that is so easy to make with zero risk and all reward. On O the Zach attack is still yuck... I would of liked to have seen Strev in much earlier in the game. Still not excited about that extension. A few people hating on Sterns... he caught nearly everything tossed his way. He's not an issue. Schoen getting hurt and not being the best receiver on the team is a bigger concern. The dice roll on him over Lawler was risky and seems to have been a mistake.
  19. Not very long ago tho Florida wasn’t drawing anyone. Ehlers is literally the first UFA to voluntarily sign with Carolina. Rantanen wanted out. Guentzel also. Ehlers wanted in but again Carolina like the Jets. Good regular season. Playoffs a struggle still. Edmonton been there twice in a row. I think Winnipeg Edmonton Vancouver and Calgary have a better shot than the eastern teams tho now. Carolina in east. Florida in east. Tampa in east. Rangers. I mean the list goes on. Trick is for the cdn team to win the finals. Certainly have had a few chances over the years really since the 90s to win but lose in finals every time. West has Vegas. Yup. Vegas. It’s a premier destination. And really that’s about it now. Dallas will be good. Chicago has Bédard. SJ and Anaheim will eventually be good also. East tho. I have a theory the jets need to break the drought and win the cup for Canada.
  20. I hope this was a week where the guys were mentally checked out and thinking about that extra week off... I really hope this wasn't a result of low skills and bad coaching. Key word... hope.
  21. Our DL is pretty old and appeared gassed after 4 games. I dunno if it’s not to early at all. If a QB has all day to throw, it’s a problem.
  22. Kick coverage and the ol were both respectable. Clercius was good. That might be it for positives. The first pick six I’ll give the Stamps player credit for a good play. The second one was inexcusable from Collaros. That ball needed to be out right away or not at all. He has to know better. No pressure from the des. Willie got chipped by the rb a lot, but still. Adam’s needs to play more and we need another de on the roster. No idea if the pr guys are any good, but it’s time to find out.
  23. I think it’s going to be a loooooooong time if ever before a Canadian team wins a Stanley Cup again. Hope I’m wrong but the business plan and tax advantages are making it seem like the mid 90’s again for teams north of the border.
  24. Yep they were totally prepared. They had two weeks and got us at home, we get to return the favour. So we’ll see what kind of adjustments we’ll make in two weeks. On the TSN broadcast they were talking about the last time we got blown out by a team in the regular season and it was against B.C I believe they next time we played them we lay that 50 point beating on them. So curious to see how we respond.
  25. "Well you know, the effort was there. I think the guys know what is expected and how to rebound after a performance like that. Coaching staff too. We'll look at the film and move on to next week." There, I just saved you from having to listen to the show after someone asked every single question that been proposed on here.
  26. It was a rough game. But acting like A) this doesn't happen every season and b) they need to blow up the entire roster, is a bit much. People need to take a step back from the ledge. It was 1 game in week 5. If this becomes a pattern and the same thing is going on in week 12 then sure, but don't make me quote A rodgers. R-E-L-A-X
  27. Dickey beat the brakes off MOS last night. Completely outcoached and out schemed at essentially every level.
