Seems like he's getting plenty of playing time in Ottawa so I wouldn't be surprised if he stays, given that there isn't a starting role up for grabs anywhere else - at least not at this point.

So Crum will be a FA but where does he go? Everybody appears to have their starter set.
-
Brown's play when he's healthy is for the most part, meh. He puts up big numbers passing but doesn't play like a leader. For every pick or bad pass he throws on 2nd down, he just shrugs his shoulders walking back to the bench losing far more than he wins. He doesn't seem to play with a lot of inspiration, urgency or fire.

The boys should be back practicing this morning.

I've added Task to my weekly watch list. I'm guessing Mark Ruffalo will get nominated for an Emmy for his work.

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news

The CFL does & is looking for new revenues. You can't just write the UFL off saying who gives a ****? The next year or so will tell the tale of that league. -
It was mentioned here that he was hurt but he played in every game for Ottawa prior to the trade. Haven't seen any indication anywhere else that he is/was hurt. He didn't feel like he was a good fit for their defensive scheme so maybe he asked to be moved? https://3downnation.com/2025/09/30/calgary-stampeders-dl-lorenzo-mauldin-iv-sad-to-leave-redblacks-but-wasnt-the-player-for-their-scheme/

Every team in the West could finish 11 - 7 this year. IMO, everyone who makes the playoffs, will have a decent chance to win the GC.
-
Ya my understanding was that he was hurt... Wasn't sure how he ended up starting but I do know the stamps are desperate.

How did Mauldin end up playing for the Stamps? Saw he was a starter did he didn't record any stats at least

Here’s one. Hold on to your hats and it’s gonna get crazy I’ll just say google Mark Sanchez former nfl QB cuz there is just so many pieces out there. Choose your own adventure
-
I’ll say this. Bones was known as a D first system guy. Arniel was a D first guy also. They worked together and created this current system. Scotty tweeked it last year to allow more O creativity and it worked like crazy. I don’t like that we got old as a team like real old but maybe we will be ok. I mean aslong as CSV are ok and Helle is healthy. Cuz we been a one line team for 5 years now.
-
Cole and Samberg were roomies and are bff. It’s not overly surprising Cole got hurt. But without Cole and JT you are basically left with CSV to score all the goals cuz 2/3 of line 2 is injured. Nino names Chib should be a line. They looked like fire when they did play together. Mad chemistry there. This team tho when at its best is a defensively strong really D first strong system team so if the newbs got Arniels system down, it might be like plug n play. And might not notice the difference really. Just the names will be different on the back. And if that’s the case, maybe we are gonna be ok. Jets have been a top regular season team for years now, they might even be the best the past more than couple seasons combined, definitely top 5 combined probably the last 3 years now. That’s cuz of the system. And Helle but D first so the goalie is really your number 1 D.
-
No. Being a small offensive minded D man who doesn’t go in to corners to retrieve dump ins did. People love to overrate the Finn’s here cuz of teemu and teppo. Ville was overrated. Laine was overrated. Armia made one deke every 30 games and was overrated. Ppl wanted to pick up the bust pool party cuz Finn. People on HFBoards were comparing heinola to miro heiskanen. Heiskanen a legit top D in the league. Sami fricking Niku. Ville just another overrated Finn who busted in Winnipeg. The search for the next Teemu and Teppo continue.

Doubtful. Who is gonna pick him up and play him. He was good 2 years ago but that’s a long time ago now. Bet he clears.

Ironically having a bad bunny or Taylor swift half time show would be huge for the grey cup and cfl. But it will be some country crap. should be a Winnipeg themed half time with Winnipeg bands and acts. Maybe bring back the crash test dummies

Burke was never cut out to be a hc, he clearly learned that fast. Excellent defensive coach though. Packed it in when he realized he wasn’t gonna rise up. Football has the shortest shelf life for coaches. You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain. The last guys we had that the fan base would’ve preferred keep imo, are coach cal and riley. The stretch of coaches we had after ritchie and before mos was horrid. As was the pre ritchie era. Perpetually the worst coached team. The reality is football evolves faster than other sports, and the talent/athleticism scales like crazy. You can also rebuild a team in a single year. In order to stay on top of coaching at the pro level you need to do an otherworldly job of evolving not just to match the game but also to out pace others. That also makes it harder to have a high enough peak of performance to win ships. Hcing and Ocing are the hardest jobs in coaching. It’s not fair, and many of the very best coaches in all of football are uprooting their life and family every couple years. And for no reason other than the timing didn’t line up well enough for them. We all know the roster management knock. The problem now is much more pervasive. Finer points of execution like tackling and stupid play discipline which where always strengths in the past are weaknesses now. We seldom adjust well any more or have great starts, and we aren the finishers we used to be. our 3rd quarters are handily the worst in the league. We aren’t good with a lead, and don’t play well from behind. We have maxed out how long you can go with out evolving. but don’t seem to recognize that fact. mtl is a way better team than their record shows. But with out a running game or consistency at qb they are aren’t the biggest play off threat. We match up really poorly with calgary, and not a lot better vs ssk. Hard to be in and out and that young then perform well in the play offs too -

I think MTL is likely the best team in the league. Id rather go west and have them in the gc than go there -

Yep, that’s been the legacy of the cfl leadership for a long time. the only modern time they made a big swing was the awful expansion era and that was just greed. This one, is very similar to that but more save some teams oriented. No easy solutions, and no desire from the troubled franchises to do any of what’s needed -
