This is what is needed and who is to say this will fail, maybe the cfl plus numbers suggest more international fans are watching than people think. Also. Why is it hard to believe right now that we would maybe be trying the international route instead of the USA route right now? Is anyone paying attention to what’s going on there like at all? Canada as a whole is distancing ourselves from the USA. I’ll bet cfl plus numbers showed a large number of international fans were watching.

Nah, normally its conditional middle draft pick for a qb. And once a team demotes a guy, its tough to get any asset for them as the contracts are soo high they are heavily incentivized to cut those guys and teams can wait and pick them up, on a better deal, for free.

You know what i would love to see? And option to buy just cfl games ans then I could watch cfl and only cfl on whatever streaming service had that particular game.

Actually one of the interesting things I read yesterday is the subscription fee for CFL on DAZN hasn't been set yet. It's not a given that you have to purchase their whole package, containing NFL, Soccer, etc... it's a very real possibility that there will be a cheaper "CFL Only" option. So we shall see... If it was like 5-10 bucks/month for just the CFL, then I might... Just to support the league and see what their product looks like.

Jenkins looked a lot more explosive than Dixon IMO. Dixon kind of plays like a heavier WJ. He's not firing off he's reading the play. Jenkins is in the backfield 1/4 pass plays before the OT even gets his hands up.

Pretty ironic that a guy who throws a tantrum like a 5 year old if anybody says anything remotely negative about Alberta or makes an age related joke talks about Canadians complaining about everything.

I think he's just expressing frustration (in his annoying way) over fans wanting to see some changes and then constantly complaining about the changes. How long have we said on here the CFL should absolutely be exploring streaming services? They not only get one, but they get one that is going to significantly increase league revenue while only using 1/4 of the games. Even if I was unable to get a free DZN stream, I would still consider this a win for the league. The sky is falling people will just never be happy until TSN pays 600 million a year to broadcast the game while using John Madden to do PBP. I'm not sure what the "use a streaming service" crowd thought would happen when the CFL got on with a company, but it would always cost money to see it.

Looks like BC is starting most of their first stringers so should give a good test for the defense to see who stands out when they are in. Most of BC's starting defence has been left home so this should be a good even test for todays BB offence (who are mostly second stringers), looking forward to this evenings game!

The agreement with CBS expires after this year. It's a piddling amount anyway. Each teams get just over a hundred grand a season.

2 profitable teams was good enough. Watching the world of sports broadcasting leave the league behind was good enough.

At least, for the most part but debatable of course, taxes go back into infrastructure, healthcare, social services etc. With this move by the CFL my cynical side thinks capitalist pigs.

The CFL the way it was, was good enough. Getting all the games by paying for one subscription was good enough. No globals was good enough.

You can work 5 qbs in pre season, we've done it before. Lets be real, no one was passing TE and probably not Perkins either unless he totally turned to dog water. The decision to throw 99% of game reps to 2 qbs isn't normal. He is a guy who could rush from a 3 tech spot and play inside out like many tweeners we've had in the past. But we haven't really given him a ton of reps doing that. I hope to see it today though. And Fletcher could do the same. His versatility is his biggest advantage imo. If reese plays smarter, his explosivity is extremely coveted. And Dixon is the best of the young guys vying for that spot. 1 guy will start and another guy should be a DI. Then we should keep probably 2 on the PR. That group is lead by Dixon, Jenkins, Fletcher, and Reese. I also think Arnold Young has a real chance to steal AR reps.

I didn't even wanna say that haha, but possibly. Its too early to jump on the lidster train that hard, but I can see it happening. Given every thing, I'd probably want an asset back in a castillo for dru trade. Sergio was very good last year, he's in his prime for a K, and he's money. Plus he can punt as well.

If they make money now...and it has some success...even limited....it's a bonus and all good Of when the contract runs it's course, and the DAZN peeps feel they no longer wanna be a part of it...then so be it and you will adjust your teams revenue stream and everything involved accordingly....won't be demise of anything, and in that time maybe there will be new different options too....guess we shall see But going status quo with TSN as the sole distributor of the product had to change/shift, unless they did a total overhaul/revamp of how they go about it...and that was never happening. So the CFL is trying to branch out and find new ways and means to promote and get the product out there, and have added a buttload of cash to the teams in doing so...which isnt a bad thing by any stretch
