  1. Past hour
  2. which is great... until they do stop us... then what?
  3. It's true that the only way you really get better is with experience.
  4. Yeah I was confused about what happened there. Seemed like he was too....which honestly just shouldn't happen.
  5. Brady - He is who we thought he was! 20+ touches moving forward please. Zach - a few tough throws and big time moves. Finally taking what defences are giving Hogan - Stayed with what was working and said Just try and stop us!!!!
  6. Kyrie Wilson had a rough game. Surprised he hasn't got injured yet 10 games in. Would be nice to see JJones in his place soon.
  7. Ran into him at a Goldeyes game a couple weeks back. Really nice guy. Smaller than i thought he would be up close lol.
  8. I'd like to say they feel Lapo needs all the experience he can get so he improves faster but it's Bell so you know it's just about saving a buck,
  9. Are the Bombers back? We discuss this and more on the Bonfire postgame from last night. Available on all your podcast apps.
  10. He’s ok. I agree he fights with his words, and I don’t love it that he calls guys by their first name so often. He’s likeable though, and definitely knows what he’s talking about.
  11. I went back 10 years for historical context and a bigger sample size. Why bring up Neufeld when talking about our players you say we draft & develop for other teams? We didn't draft him so he'd be an example of how this happens for other teams as well - Riders drafted him but only got 2.5 seasons out of him before we traded for him. Just looking at 2021-2022 is harder as many of those players could be or are still under their rookie deals & some haven't come north yet so to increase sample size that I didn't look at just OL drafted in the 1st 2 rounds & their status. Here's what I got. 2021: Hamilton had 3 picks. 2 players (Jake Burt & Nick Cross) are out of football & the 3rd (Deane Leonard) has never come north. 0/3 so far but Leonard is TBD as they still have his rights should he come up from the NFL. Sask had 2 picks (Lokombo & Jana). Lokombo is still there but Jana retired after his rookie season. 1/2 Wpg had 2 (Dobson & Kramdi). 1/2, no explanation needed here. BC had 2 picks (Joseph & Jackson). 0/2 (for now) - Joseph got cut in camp as a rookie & is now with Edmonton. Jackson has been in the NFL so they've got nothing yet but TBD on him. Edm had 2 picks (Nelson & McDonald) & both guys are out of football now. 0/2 - they got 3 seasons from Nelson & 1 season from McDonald. Ott had 2 picks (Stevens & Addae). 1/2 - Addae is still there but Stevens left after his rookie deal (now with Sask). Tor had 2 picks and they are 2/2 for now. Nicastro is still there and so is Doxtater but he's only on year 2 of his rookie deal as he spent time in the NFL, UFL & XFL before coming up. TBD whether or not they keep him past his rookie deal. Cal had 2 picks and is 1/2 at the moment. Ogbongbemiga hasn't come to the CFL yet so they haven't gotten anything from him yet while Bell is still with the team. Mtl only had 1 pick (Lestage) and he's still there so 1/1. 18 drafted players- 5 are out of football, 7 with their original team (1 still on a rookie deal), 3 with other CFL teams & 3 have never come north. 2022 (CFL added the 2 bonus picks for being terrible this year so 20 picks instead of 18): Mtl had 3 picks, 2 (Richards & Philpot) are still there while Brown left after 2 seasons. 2/3 Ott had 3 picks but only has Pelehos playing for them. Hogan-Saindon left after his rookie deal & Luketa has not come north. 1/3 for the moment. BC had 2 picks & is 1/2. Cherry is there but Zerr was gone after 1 season. Edm had 3 picks and is 2/3. Makonzo is gonzo but they have Ford & Plamandon Cal went 1/2 - Philpot is there but Schakel only lasted 1 season. Tor went 0/3. Mackellar & Adebobye left after their rookie deal while Knight got poached of their PR in his 3rd season. Sask is 2/2. Emilus & Fry are both still with the team. Wpg is 0/1 with Ford leaving after his rookie deal Ham is also 0/1 with Federico only lasting 2 seasons with them. 20 players - 9 are with their original team, 10 are with new teams & 1 is in the NFL. It looks pretty even to me - no team is perfect so losing players for whatever reason is just part of the crapshoot that is the CFL draft.
  12. I have to laugh regarding Castillo: when he makes a kick my buddy yells out “Gulf of Mexico”. When he misses a kick it’s “Gulf of America”. A lot more Mexico this year.
  13. Interesting take. I had a bicycle injury when I was 8 years old where I fell off my bike going as fast as I could when I was racing my friends in pur backlane, I fell knee first (in shorts) into a gravel driveway. I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance (a real old school ambulance - this was July 1963 ya know). I had surgery & was in a plaster cast from my foot to my waist. I was at the Children's Hospital for a week. I always had problems with that same left knee & leg afterwards growing up. I had road burns & scars all over my left knee, head, face, thigh & left elbow. I know I lost some of the skin off my left knee. That's the first time in all these years anyone has ever suggested that a prior trauma may have contributed to my later knee injury. Thanks, Booch as that would explain a lot. Like WTF????
  14. With you on the wtf for the refs on ripping off Kolo's helmet. Shoulda been a penalty. And while i'm complaining about the refs...the hit on Demski looked like he had him by the jersey up by his throat and drove his head into the turf.
  15. cant argue with any of that...well said old adage...sun shines on a dogs ass some days
  16. This is why some people want to see a change there... imagine if that was a regular occurrence?
  17. It's because tsn has the set the bar so incredibly low. Suitor should have been retired years ago and Duane forde has all the excitement of plain toast.
  18. A few comments about the game. Glad the Bombers won but there were still a few WTF moments starting with the coaching staff. There was some questionable play calling on both sides of the ball and O’Shea’s time-management skills leave a lot to be desired. Do these guys talk to each other? The O-line played pretty well especially when run-blocking. Kolankowski deserves a lot of the barbs thrown his way but on Oliveira's initial big run (28 yards?), Kolankowski opened it up for him by blocking one defender and then bouncing back to get a second guy. It actually looked like he knew what he was doing. Oliveira was immediately in open ground. I was pleasantly surprised. Lawson, the DB, was terrible at least to begin with. There's a reason the Bombers brought back Houston. The sooner he's inserted into the lineup the better. Why is Kramdi starting at S when Allen is a keeper. Don't we already start more than the minimum required Canucks? Kudos to our Special Teams (good coaching). The kicking game is solid. Castillo always was and it has taken several years but Sheehan is coming around. I like Vaval over Logan as a returner but it's probably too early to judge Logan. Good to see Wilson out there for the 3rd and short plays although he might have been out there because Streveler was lining up as a receiver. Do the coaches not see (what seems pretty obvious to me) that Wilson for whatever reasons is at this point the better option. I’m still convinced that the recent game in Calgary was lost because they used Streveler instead of Wilson on that 3rd and 1 on the Calgary 10. Had we scored on that drive, it would have been a dagger in the Stamps. Collaros played well. Was that his best game in a long while? Oliveira is looking stronger which points to a full recovery from his injury. The next two games will be interesting. Objectively, the Riders are the best team in the league so it will be challenging for the Bombers. Go Bombers Go!
  19. I’m sure this was discussed, but that was a bit of a mess by O’Shea at the end of the first half wasting the timeout. I assume he thought the clock wouldn’t run after an injury.
  20. Totally agree...there were many times I was ready to shut off the volume as he blathered on ..mostly about Montreal
  21. I guess you just focus on the -ve in my comments, completely ignoring my complementing him on adjusting his game. To clarify: ZC isn’t the player he used to be, especially on deep throws. I’ve been advocating for him to develop more of a mid to short range passing game. Last night he did that successfully and I’m pleased to see it and hope it continues. I acknowledge we don’t have the WR core to help him out. There, feel better now?
  22. Hollins actually....Lewis...Coxie....were also available
  23. We should be able to replenish receivers. Wasn't that Keon Hatcher playing for the Als last night? Why couldn't we have picked him up? Dominique Rhymes, Steven Dunbar, & Kurleigh Gittens were all free agents this off season. Yet, here we are having our backup qb Chris Streveler still recovering from his serious knee injury out there running routes.
  24. my first rebuild was a shot to side of knee on kick return when a guy barreled into me and took me out when trying to shield ball bouncing out of bounds to retain possesion ACL's can yes go a lot with non contact....but even then it's likely an underlying issue that was bound to happen from some previous trauma
  25. who puts players on the PR....and roster?...who schemes for depth in key spots on roster and PR where injuries are more prevalent....it's not Walters Depth and lack of it in areas is on the guy who sets the roster...again...who sets the roster...and who cut guys to create the roster and PR...Oh yeah...the HC Has Walters slipped in bringing guys in...yeah, but also it's not him out there either...it's his scouting staff who bring guys to the teams attention based on what the "Coach" wants....thats how it works...coach says what he wants in terms of players....scouts go out and try and find them...G.M signs them...and HC sorts it out....thats how it works SAo throwing all the blame at Walter's is just a garbage argument....It's a collective thing, and there is a way a team goes about it...But at end of the day the roster and PR and who they decide to have a "fake" injury and if they agree to being "hurt" is all on the HC...That's the way it works...and has always worked...on any team You had times like in Ottawa for example where the Owner (Giebermans) dictated who played....who they wanted on roster amoung other stupid stuff...and well how did that turn out...They folded I assume your lil rant was directed at me cause you take issue with everything I say.... Round and round we go....players who play and get on roster is the HC choice...not G.M...see previous post
  26. No, I know lots of guys who were injured taking a shot to the knee. I injured mine when I was blocked. Right to the knee, I had all my weight on my left leg whn I was taken out. The same injury Schoen had. It was awful. I hope none of you ever experience it. Or what I went thru for the next 47 years. I feel for Dalton, I really do.
