The Star Trek Thread!
Luke at what they did to our boy Luke in the Last Jedi. Making him a wimp and cry baby drinking blue milk and sulking completely killed any chance for that trilogy to succeed. Not a single person I know or read online thought the way they handled Luke in that movie was good in any way. Now compared to Luke's scene in the Mandalorian where he slices all the baddies up and the follow up scenes.... people loved it. How hard is it for Disney to realize that a character that a massive generation of people idolized... they want to see them being the same person they fell in love with in the first place. They made the same mistake with Indiana Jones in the terrible last movie they made with him. Nobody wanted to see Indy as a cry baby dummy old man. They wanted the smart alec quick witted guy they fell in love with the original trilogy. The video game kept the character the same and everyone who has played the game absolutely loved the story and wished the movie was that instead. If Hollywood wants to try wild and different ideas... use new characters and new worlds.

Throwing into triple coverage while having protection is not the fault of the o-line or the OC. The QB play was extremely subpar for a top paid player.

Not really? Come on man. Just got my copy in the mail today. Pretty cool.

Every coordinator and coach ever will have a few fans that unfairly hate him, however, in Hogan's case the criticism is very well founded. All OC's get that on every football team ever unless they are scoring TDs every drive all season long. Nature of the position.

Nope. Just notice that even when a compentent OC is in place he gets blamed for all the problems. As for Hogan I don't think he is as bad as made out to be. He was stuck with Strev for a while and the O line wasn't very good. I know most won't agree.

So you're defending Hogan who was not qualified, failed miserably and was arrogant to boot?

I'm blaming Condell for all the issues that come up with the O this year. Seems to be the thing to do. Fire Lapo...get rid of Buck...fire Hogan!!

not to mention he was working with an OC with less than zero clue's as to what to do....and a self admitted HC who couldnt step in and offer some kind of help/system tweek as he also has no clue...ZC gets a somewhat a pass for last year...but if by game 6...he is being the ZC of the past 2 yrs....we need to do whatever we can to do an in-season transition

Don’t look up the age of the actor portraying Kirk in SNW 😬 But if you cater to fan service you risk making absolute 💩 like Picard S1/S2 or Rise of Skywalker. Gotta let go of the past to move forward. That was my fave part of her 😆

I don't know that it's going to be pinned on the air traffic controller. Emergency vehicles are coordinated by the ground controllers, not air controllers and even if the ground crew gave the truck clearance, a plane coming in for landing has the right of way. The ATC was recorded as having told the truck to stop at least 10 times so what more could he have done? He was also recorded as saying he messed up but another ATC told him that he did everything he could. There doesn't seem to be any record of what the ground controllers were doing/saying so that's probably what the investigation will focus on. There doesn't seem to be any communication between the ground crew, air crew & the truck.

In Zac's defence he WAS asked to do a lot with zero OL or receiver support. So yes, it does matter what team you played for and if you are suggesting that he had better players around him last year than Dru Brown did you are the one making up things to match your story.
-
25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
What a silly thing to say. Of course it matters what team players play on. You seem to want to blame ABC (Anyone But Collaros) for his last 2 years and then make up things to match your story. No offensive lineman threw balls to the wrong team.

Terrible, terrible accident. As much as it looks like the fire truck was directed to be on the runway by an air traffic controller when the Jazz airplane landed, the driver of the firetruck should have checked to make sure the coast was clear. Had he looked properly, he'd have seen the plane coming down the runway at 100 mph. That poor air traffic controller might be the scapegoat & go to jail for negligence. From what I've read he was already dealing with another emergency with another aircraft & may have been distracted as well as overworked due to staff cuts initiated to controllers by Trump & Elon Musk.

Discovery was the same way & it was cancelled. Fans hated it. Seeing a barefoot Captain sitting in an undignified way in the Captain's Chair was another thing fans hated about SFA.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that when you cater to maybe 5% of the population and ignore the real target demo (see Big Bang Theory nerds) it's mind blowing that projects like this are ever green lit. It's baffling that these big companies are so clueless with known franchises and drive them to the ground with complete crap.

In Alberta, atom, pee wee & bantam are in the fall same as high school. We have spring league (formerly called midget) & girls U18 tackle football in spring. Seems to me that the officials associations have to do more recruiting.

Throwing stones in glass houses as usual again. You flap your lips pretty good like a guy with no dentures. It doesn't matter where the 2 qbs played. Both offensive lines were garbage. We played the worst Center in the CFL for years. Brown couldn't last even last the 2 opening games with the RedBlacks. Then spent two full cycles on the 6 game IR missing something like twelve games. Yeah, Collaros luck may run out & we're hooped. If that happens that's 100% on Walters for letting the QB Room deteriorate to where it is now.

When you have actors in their mid 20's to early 30's portraying 18 year old SFA students it suspends whatever little belief that a sci fi series can have. A 30 year old is usually more physically mature than an 18 year old students which includes not only stronger bodies for physically fit men & more developed bodies for women but also facial differences as well. Not having Tilly as a cast member after it was announced that she'd be part of the series regulars reportedly because the showrunners felt actress mary Wiseman was overweight so wasn't offered a regular part after announcing she would be a series regular. Pretty hypocritical considering the series was supposed to be inclusive seems to be one of the main reasons it was never accepted by Trek fans. Especially, the gay Klingon, Jay Den Krag who seemed to get the most vitriol on social media. I watched SFA & neither liked or disliked it but wasn't surprised it never found its footing with fans.

11 games left in the season. Five points out of a playoff spot. Going to have to win all 11... I just wish this team would tank now. Giving that extra point to Nashville really hurt them.
