  1. Past hour
  2. while I like Kyrie Wilson as a player, when healthy... this is exactly the reason why I did not like his resigning.... why couldn't Ayers and J Jones rotate through the defense instead?... and now we might have a good one in Woodbey... why are we wasting reps on a 32 year old LB when he have younger, cheaper, and likely better options...
  3. Khari was soo damn good at getting the ball out quick on a rope, letting milt run under it. And yeah they played like they had a headset and mic to each other. Such a thing of beauty to watch.
  4. I'm a bit split on that. On one hand, the gm is ultimately the one responsible for on field product. If he defers to the HC (and I think walters does to mos), and it doens't work out, the gm is as much to blame as the hc. I think rookie talent has been where it needs to be in this and the last camp. Not as much the prior year. Even when I look at the current roster, Vaval has been drastically better as a kr than Logan ever has. Logan has been a bust on offence (doesn't look right at all currently.) and peterson has been better for certain. Adams and Woods are our 2 best DTs by a lot, but are on the PR. We'd be better off with houston or woodey playing the db reps vaval has gotten, and probably lawson jr too. person has been our best Dl and played the fewest snaps. We've got young, athletic defenders who make an impact when given a chance in Jjones, shay, smith, and ayers, but we won't let them grow into and over take vets. We've wasted soo many final roster spots on guys like korny, Weitz etc but refuse to give bailey a look. \ We keep guys like case kicking around for no reason as well. Thats all on mos, and thats before you get into the can of worms that is thomas/kola. I think the easiest way to fix the problem with the mafia, is to shake up the top end. I think it's easier to find a GM, than a HC, and a gm who would actually be MOS' boss holding him responsible could get him back on the right track possibly. I also don't think we are approaching a point where the only way forward is firing a mafia guy, I think it's long past.
  5. That's what made the 17 to 85 connection so perfect. They new exactly how to attack a blitz without looking at each other.
  6. It is really just silly to keep Ayers on if only plays STs. He looked good rotating on D last year, not sure why he gets no reps now.
  7. I was thinking they could take Logan off and use Mitchell as the returner. He has more experience at that than Echols and is already more in sync with the offence as depth. I didn't think Woodbey would get many reps on defence but he was on the field immediately and didn't look out of place. He recorded 2 DT's and 1 ST compared to none for Ayers. I'd like to keep on the AR but that may be difficult if we go back to an import DT. Of course the option is to take Ayers off, which would be my preference. Getting Bailey on would be useful but it may depend on whether Hallett or Makonzo are healthy.
  8. Not cheap but good local beer and good food.
  9. Kyle Walters absolutely bird dogs for the Bombers in Ontario. Absolutely nothing wrong with a coach discussing his needs with his GM. If the GM does not find the player, or bypasses a better player to listen to his coaches wants that is still 100% the fault of the GM. None of you guys will convince me that the talent signed by the GM isn't 100% his responsibility. It goes beyond logic to think otherwise. To suggest the HC pulls the strings on who Walters ultimately signs is ludicrous. Does OSH have input, absolutely, bottom line is it's Walters decision. His decisions have not been good lately. It is beyond moronic to try and put the loss of Lawler or other all stars onto MOS. Contract negs are 100% the domain of Walters and he did not get it done for us and he could have. PERIOD. NO OTHER REALITY EXISTS.
  10. Fantastic, really appreciate all the help. I think we will try the Beer Can as well, that place sounds like its right up my alley. Can't wait.
  11. I can’t even express how much I agree with this…. And my wife and friends are probably pretty sick of hearing it. Lol
  12. Nailed it. Also the one game against mtl. last time brady had 20 (or more than 18 even) or more caries in a game was week 18 of last year. 2 100 yard or more rushing games this year for us, and 1 game with 18 or more carries. He needs to have a couple really big games to have a chance to break 1k this year.
  13. Saw this too. https://thebeercanwpg.com/upcoming/banjo-bowl-bus Nice outdoor beer garden and bus to the game, not a far walk from downtown.
  14. Yep. For ages, other teams busted us on looks like that. Going back to ricky ray in edmonton. Vaughn used to cut us up any time we blitzed. It's funny, we are soo conservative with route concepts, trying to keep passes in safe, easy places that zach just takes shots on his own into worse postions any way. Imagine Demski on a slant at the seam behind the second level when a team blitzes us. He's hard to tackle for box players with a head of steam. Good luck to the halfs and S.
  15. I don’t find it to be overly sketchy outside the ALT most nights. I mean I’ve never stayed over night downtown in my own city but I find they light it up real good there and that keeps the trouble away. Portage is pretty quiet at night honestly. The one time we came home from a party on young at about 4am and walked down town it was dead. Like it looked like a ghost town. Most the problems are closer to Higgins and that area now. Higgins and main. Also near the Winnipeg regional health authority building on main. Look down the alleys next time. It’s crazy. ALT is pretty well lit and they tend to do a good job keeping the “trash” away.
  16. This….. This drives me absolutely bananas.
  17. I like Demski this week also.
  18. I play golf and regularly shoot in the 80s if I play 18. High 80s but still.
  19. Today
  20. Hope you have fun until kickoff. The Alt hotel is smack dab in the middle of downtown. It'll be sketchy outside. I'm not trying to scare you, just use common sense and be cautious if you're spending time out there.
  21. The amount of times I think to myself....Get on a body!! with him is crazy. Just block someone...anyone. I get that you'll be left on an island occasionally. But there's no way it happens as often as it appears to. Like he just doesn't hit anyone way too often. I don't know a lot about OL play at that level. But I do know they should be engaged every play. It's a saying for a reason. TSN particularly loves to crown champions in July. Way more often it's the teams that get hot in OCT that end up lifting the cup. Our 2021 year was the exception not the rule. It's not often teams will dominate start to finish throughout an entire season. I get what you're saying though. Losing any game hurts eventually. You're digging yourself a hole. But adversity builds character yadda yadda yadda....all that stuff
  22. Sure. But in the fall/winter, the running game becomes more important and the football is more physical. All I'm saying is, I'd like to see them play the best players in the trenches. And yeah, do that in summer too.
  23. real football starts in game 1.....those games we pissed away and did stupid stuff have more or less created a situation that even if we dont pretty much run the table we wont be getting first, and possibly not eve a home WSF game This notion people like to yammer on about the season doesn't start until labor day is a pile of crap If anything getting the jump on teams early, and creating space is the better course of action, then you don't have to rely on 6 to 8 game win streak to cement your spot...especially when later in the yr injuries pile up and a good portion of your roster isnt healthy anymore, but you are forced to play them anyway basically ensuring you have a whack of walking wounded when it matters most in playoffs...and we have first hand experience last 3 cups on how that's effected us....we had some who were not even walking basically
  24. Worth noting as well we haven't won the big game since he's taken over as starting C.
  25. His post snap awareness if not engaged right out of snap with a Nose or DT is shockingly bad...actually non-existence I have never seen a center past H.S level be so lost, and coupled with that lack any real exceptional physical traits/techniques Yet there he is...game in and game out...how/why we habnt done anything the last 2 yrs at minimum to upgrade there, or try pretty much anyone on our roster is baffling But then again not surprising seeing how our coach leans on and thinks vets who been around this team a while, and ones he apparently has a bias/like for is the way to go until they either walk away, or get hurt so bad they cant play...cause we have also seen he will play a knicked up favorite and even an almost physically unable to do the job favorite over a new guy...hence the situ we have slowly degraded into
