  3. Dennis Hull had a bit about being the 3rd best Hull to play in the NHL, he would have been fourth but they wouldn't let his sister into the NHL.

  6. Today
  7. If we can get to minimum 10 players I will get a plaque made with this or another likeness of Richard Harris plus maybe some dedication to his memory and the winner will have their name and the year inscribed somewhere. I will send it to that person to hold for a year. So far 3 entries.

  10. 100%. I don't think he will ever be a cover sam in the cfl.
  11. So Shay would be better in a different spot?
  12. It's at the 1 hr 45 min mark. Strevy is right pissed at Wynn, swears at him, gets a 10 yard penalty from Frenchie, then limps off the field because Wynn twisted his knee in the pile. Screw that guy. So Strev's penalty on the a-hole Wynn makes it second and 17. Andrew Harris says "no problem" and gets it all back on the next play. Man I loved that 2019 team.

  14. Smith was more pro-ready, Shay had more upside because he has played S and could play Wil with minimal need to sub for a dime. We are trying to shoehorn Shay at Sam, and it's not going great.
  15. I don't think so. Feels like Smith is ahead of him and he's still buried behind all the Americans. Worth noting that Smith was their first round target because they didn't think Shay would be available and they picked him last minute.
  16. what's the deal with Connor Shay... he was supposed to be the most pro-ready prospect in last year's draft... and he played about 6 defensive snaps last year... is he any closer to actually being a defensive player this year?

  20. yeah, that's not fair of me to judge a guy by that one whiff .. but that play was the hope crusher that ended our season, so I remember it really really well and I was surprised we invited him back.
  21. Thats a good point, but hes QB2 at this point any way lol. I really didnt expect that much from him. Canadian Streveler? The cfl media would wet itself endlessly. If/when TE does take over, they will be really torn between drooling over him and hating/sleeping on us. MCcheese and Brown are going to be interesting to watch as the season goes on. I can see RD flip-flopping back and forth between the two. As browns bad games are below Maiers floor, but his ceiling is stratospheric in comparison. Qb controversies in Ott and Tor will likely be the hope of the basement dwellers this year, come the off-season.
  22. I could see that....and If Maier retains job outside of all that...I could see a deadline day deal for Dru regardless...especially if ZC isn't showing any renaissance
  23. yup....subbed...that play shpuld be outlawed too yeah...we need to try guys in rotation and if anything just see...serviceable is fine if your lights out in other areas....we don't know yet who/where we may be lights out other than halfback...Likely Ceresna and cause of that hopefully WJ...And Griffin and Kramdi ....lotta unknowns currently Yup...is a arsebag...and a known criminal in the pile, and elsewhere.....Lanier too...2 guys I would never want on our roster...Hard pass and would offer us nothing really And if Clercius cant go...no way in hell we should be starting 3 canadian receivers then...we shouldt even if he was 100percent....Those 3 are perfect depth/rotation while starting 2....outside of that...we would be a hampered offence
  24. Time for my wild prediction of the year before the season starts: Jake Maier plays well enough but not great in Ottawa, in game 4-6 Dinwiddie gives Dru Brown the start and he gets concussed and sidelined in his first start. Maier returns to action the next game and begins playing better while Brown languishes on the bench. In week 13 Zac Collaros suffers a season ending injury, and Elgersma gets the tap to start. After a couple games TE suffers a broken foot leading to a Winnipeg QBing crisis. A trade for Dru Brown is worked out with Ottawa bringing him back to the Bombers. Brown catches fire, while at the same time Winnipeg shuffles the deck on defence to tighten it up. Bombers who are 3rd in the West go on the road and begin a heater culminating in bringing home a Grey Cup. Taylor Elgersma, plays a pivotal role on a broken foot throughout the playoffs as the Bombers change of pace QB. At the Grey Cup parade both Taylor Elgersma and Chris Streveler show up shirtless and wearing fur coats and smoking cigars. Life is right in Bomberland again. (I would like to note that I am not wishing injury on any QB in this post and would hate to see this exact scenario roll out with the exception of the Grey Cup part)
  25. yeah...Anyone you wanna keep ...or not risk losing I'd 1 game..all yr if need be
  26. I would put TE on the 1 game IR, not sure how being released to the PR would affect his rookie contract status.
  27. Tony Jones could be upgraded on, no doubt about it, but I don't see anyone in house that could take over his role...full time anyway. We should probably start platooning him though...on that we agree. I don't mind Woodby or Smith in passing situations coming in but I think that Jones is a superior run stopper to both of them. Woodby I don't like at MIKE because he seems to get lost in the wash in the tackle box. His strength is on the outside edges of the LBer corps where he can excel. Kyrie, and I believe you and I discussed this at length a couple years ago, I've always liked at MIKE. However, he does have a harder time against bigger backs in this league and that seems to be the direction all the teams are going now. I think on second and long situations any of Woodby, Smith, Kyrie and possible even Shay might represent an upgrade. In all honesty, I thought that JSK had a real legit shot at being our starting MIKE this year, and I believe that is where he was brought in to compete. Unfortunate he was injured.
  28. Actually, I think you're right. I believe it was JSK that was non-contact. Accurate.
  29. Last time he was good, Jake Thomas was a serviceable player.
  30. "I told Tretiak that he's become famous for letting in [Henderson's] goal...I said to him that 'if you had stopped it, you'd probably be a cab driver in Moscow today.' "
