  1. Past hour
  2. Eli has started and been the 6th OL for 5 seasons. He's played a ton. He played over half of the playoff game you just watched.
  3. It would have been nice to give Eli (and many other guys) play time to see if they could shake off rust and end up being a better player. The largest issue this club has is the refusal of giving guys a chance. I don't accept that they purely evaluate based on practices. This is the same club a few years back who refused to give starters play time during the pre season which ended up having guys struggling for the first month come regular season.
  4. Peterson gets basically nothing after contact. If he's the starting RB you don't have a run game.
  5. Why is the debate between who is the better option between Eli and Kolo? Probably Eli, but the real issue is our Oline needs a serious upgrade. Center, one tackle and one guard at least. Whether it's through free agency, draft, trade or scouting, we're going nowhere with the current state of the Oline.
  6. O'Shea's use of Eli is one of the biggest issues, IMO. Kolankowski has been the weak link in the O-line and I have a very difficult time seeing Eli as as bad as or worse. Versatility be damned, Kolankowski is not and has not been good enough and likely contributed to Collaros's inkjuries but O'Shea has been oblivious to all that. From O'Shea's comments, he expects to return as head coach so we are likely looking at an even worse year in 2026. This reminds me of how a Russian farmer described his crop prospects for the current year:" Worse than last year but better than next."
  7. Mummy 4 may be in the works. I'm surprised that they didn't continue the series years ago. Same with National Treasure... those movies were a lot of fun.
  8. CTE + rampant use of Meth in Hawaii. Tony Ferguson will be the next guy with this wrap sheet....
  9. I think they see Smith as a SAM, he spent the whole season backing up there. Kramdi might head to Montreal in free agency.
  10. I don't think he is actually that versatile. At G, he isn't good enough in pass pro (next to Kola anyway), and he isn't able to play the edge other than on sets where we play heavy vs small. If he was more versatile, he'd be a starting Guard imo. If Eli isn't ever going to be more than a 6th ol, if he isn't good enough in pass pro to be a starting C, we just need to move on from him. The replacement level NI interior OL is a bunch of guys who can run block man to man, and don't have the feet to pass pro. Ethan Vibert is a super versatile guy. He's got a pro-ready body at G or C he's an above-average athlete, a little below Desjarlais' level, but well above average. He played multiple roles on a good line in the NCAA. He can play either G spot or C, and he excelled as a short-yardage/teams blocker. He's also got great football IQ, and that tough/nasty mind set and play style we love. If Eli isn't gonna be given a chance / be a legit threat to take the starting C job next year, he shouldn't be back. Because Vibert is ready for that 6th ol role and has the upside to be a starter in this league.
  11. Today
  12. Yeah didn't make sense for the Bombers to bring him in late either - that would have just burned a year off his rookie deal. Let him sit by a phone that's not ringing for now and try to get him here for a full season next year.
  13. I don't blame him for kicking around and seeing if he can get on an NFL pr for the remainder of the NFL season. It makes a lot more sense than sitting as the 4th QB on our PR for part of the season. So long as he doesn't waste next years TC here trying to fish for another NFL TC invite.
  14. It could, but we need to make room to make significant additions to DL, OL, WR, and QB2. Which are the 4 most expensive positions. The club really need to shed a lot of dead weight this off season. I could see some one giving Wheatfall a nice deal to see if he can step up into a no1 role with their system.
  15. All of that can be offset by vets leaving. Though I'm doubtful Wheatfall will be in Blue and Gold next year.
  16. Those "reports" are apparently incorrect. Dana White confirmed they are working with the FBI on this and they (UFC) actually questioned the guy before the fight but still let him compete. Once they saw how the fight played out, they got in touch with the FBI. B.J. Penn arrested for 6th time this year | MMA Fighting CTE is a terrible thing. Here's the cliff notes for Penn's 2025 so far: 1st arrest: Arrested after altercation with his 79-year-old mother (issues with his family stem from his claims that his family had been “killed” and replaced with imposters). 2nd arrest: Arrested for a violation of a stay-away order from his mother 3rd arrest: Arrested for failing to appear in court 4th arrest: Arrested for violating a restraining order by breaching a property 5th arrest: Arrested for entering a property and violating a court ordered protection order filed by his mother 6th arrest: Arrested for third-degree assault on a 45 year old man
  17. Good call, Powell would be a top target for me, along with Crum. If we bring in 1 of those 2, bring in Elgersma, and have Zach back, that is about as good as it can get for us. Personally, I would only give 1 of chase/wilson a rookie camp deal to compete with a couple new rookie arms. I'd give Crum/Powell a 180-200k base deal with heavy incentives if they take the qb1 spot and do well. Also, I neglected to mention the pest in Toronto. I expect him to be on the market this year. But I am firmly betting on Edmonton getting him. That's a good point. I could see Woodbey in the NFL next year. I'd sure bring him in if I were them. He showed he can cover WRs from over the top very well, use his athleticism and size to make an impact coming downhill, and he's a good teams guy. I mean his ability to cover combined with his size alone is extremely valuable, quick like a db too.
  18. several on our roster are...but under Osh....many will never realize it playing here unless he shifts how he does things I'd be shocked if Woodbey doesn't get looks....he basically debunked some of the negatives NFL teams/scouts placed on him prior to his draft, so he could be following the Ayers path as well.... Smith could step into that role easily as well as WILL....or a role like Griffin held as well...freeing up a DA spot for another end or true NT...Griffin tho needs to be brought back...Shay as well I am sure could be a WILL candidate and good at it, but like to see him groomed at MAC. Bang for buck we can be better off without all 3 of those DB's truth be told, and able to focus funds elsewhere...No cfl team shoud have 2....let alone 3 giys in the secondary making 140k+....but getting Nichols back at a reduced price if possible...or the same is prob the best scenario of the 3....he is one the vet pieces you hold on to as he can ball still and is the best all around of the 3....
  19. If we are willing to move forward with the Canadians, I can see moving on from Ayers. Even though I love the way that guy plays and his talent level is exceptional. I don't think much of wheatfall, wilson and vaughters would be nice to move on from. But I don't think any of that will happen. we paid them and they performed modestly better, and mos is married to wilson. 225k was too much for demski, but then last year was his best year as a go to wr. and We have such a need at that position, he does soo much for our offence IDK how we move on from him. That would be ideal, but again I don't think that will happen unless Nichols leaves for greener pastures. Smith could play kramdis' role imo. But we could also use griffin or woodbey and slide smith into an even easier position if needed.
  20. Powell in Hamilton is also a pending FA. I would go after him if Hamilton lets him get the open market.
  21. plain in simple...our roster/ratio makeup...sms allotment vs value for the $ is an utter mess...we have massively excessive amount tied into 2 positions in the CFL where they should be your cheapest groups (DB and RB) We value vet's and "intangibles" over talent...and that in itself comes at a cost, you don't need excessive vet's and limited role guys to succeed....a few on each side of the ball, along with coaches in tune with the room and the team will suffice Our draft strategy as well effects our roster, and isn't surprising when the HC and G.M basically were ST coaches only and base their picks save for the typical 1st or second nobrainer picks on these guys who excel on ST and thats it...and will ever be...Great players with starter skill can play teams too....a lot of times better than the plugs
  22. Ayers got NFL interest as a cover guy, and that will very likely be the case again. The rookie deals for Ayers, Wheatfall, and Wilson are all really low. Moving up to vet deals will easily see them go up in the 30-40k range minimum each. I could see some one going after Ayers to make him a starter as well. He is a way better football player than his role here.
  23. Ayers-Don't bring back Wheatfall-Does not deserve a large raise. Would be fine if he's not back Wilson-Time to move on Vaughters-Not worth the $165000, fine if he's not back Demski-Really like him, not sure he's worth the 225000 he's currently getting Nichols, Holm. Kramdi-I think you need to pick 2 out of 3. Could Smith step into the Kramdi role?
  24. It is not a pretty list right now, thats for sure. But, I do think we will see teams cutting their vet back ups and trying to make moves. We can also see a trade for a back up with a higher salary. The pending FA QB I would go after is Dustin Crum. I think the following guys will also be on the market one way or another this year. Faj, MBT, Ford, PJ walker, Shiltz, and Evans. I expect Masoli retires and maybe moves into coaching.
  25. I think both Peterson and MCI would top out at 80k if we signed them to the max. 70k on min. With Brady at 240k, we could draft another guy at the min, and run those 3 cheaper than Brady alone. Again, I love Brady, but the deal doesn't make sense. We have a LOT of gaps that need to be filled in free agency. We have to be buyers, and we will likely have to overspend to get guys. MCIs blocking and power potential, combined with Peterson's ability to step in is too good. By that means, when we start 9-10 Canadians, is Jake Thomas the best DT on our roster, including the Americans? Why did Lawson jr start over Cam and Woodbey who are significantly better? We know Mos doesn't assign spots based on production or talent. This has happened at multiple positions every year he has been here. Eli may not be the ideal answer at C, but he is an answer at C. Having watched him play, I fully believe he is starter-calibre in the CFL. But we value the 6th OL the same way we value a starting OL. And Kola, is not even a fringe AR player in the CFL.
  26. Id bet Jackson is moved to OC next year and Hogan is moved on from. Everyone else is brought back Ayers, wheatfall vaughters and wilson will be hard pressed to get raises. They didnt do anything to get them. Randolph and Vanterpool i can see moving into full time roles, but that would be offset by the loss of the starters
  27. Who's available that would be worth spending on though? Last off-season had a ton of QB movement but I don't know how many are pending FA's?
