3 turds plus ch coaching never fails to fail
ShyGuy replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It would have been nice to have had Grant last year but Vaval has been more than serviceable this year... part of his recent spat of maybe not looking gamebreaking has to do with taking 40+ snaps on defense as well as returning. -
Yes Venus is still playing, and she's Doubles partners with Leyla Fernandez. And Felix advanced to the Quarters

I think you’d have to concede that Grant was definitely a net plus during his years with the bombers. The constant threat he provided and the big play returns were pretty huge… No, I think the difference is he is now just on the wrong side of 30. I do agree with you, however, at this point he is not a big loss relative to Vaval. -

....Pushing a player to return when he's not fully recovered from his injury, is just a plain bull$hit move....I realize we're in tough in the receiving corps BUT obviously it was an egregious move IF it is the same injury he was sidelined with...
-
I dont think they put him in early if he was still hurt, id like to think we do have a competent medical staff.

Goodbye Mr Crabby Tree (for those old enough to remember Dudley the Dragon) https://deadline.com/2025/09/graham-greene-dead-dances-with-wolves-wind-river-1236502962/ He also made a couple of Air Force appearances including this one
-
He may be injury prone but I wish that the staff (coaches and medics) would let him heal properly. This is what....two years in a row where they most likely put him back in too early.
-
I wish schoen could stay healthy

vaval has been better much of the year than grant in both pr and kr. he had a couple games with rookie brain, and a bobble or two but grant hasn’t been healthy the whole year and has had struggles him self with handles. since the tds, vaval has still been one of the best pr in the league. they only took kr duties off him because he’s starting at cb, as a rookie no less. Sky is the limit for vaval, who has also had solid stints at db. The only thing grant has on vaval is reputation and age. -

Grant's been pretty quiet. They have the same amount of turnovers too which was always a big issue for Grant. Had some big playoff returns for us but also handed multiple scores to other teams with muffed punts and fumbles. So his net effect was never as gaudy as his stats. If he could hold onto the ball he'd be in year 8 of his NFL career. -

....what's he done lately....2 tds ...then nothing....I would say anyone with any football acumen would say they would rather have Grant on their club right now....but what the hey -

Vaval is outdueling Grant both on punts and kickoffs average return, 2 TD's to 1. Reality is they've done a terrible job backfilling guys, but aside from Lawler everyone who they've let walk the past 2 years is cooked physically or below average to start with. They made decisions not to pay Lawler or Ford...terrible decision on Lawler, borderline on Ford. But the bigger problem is the lack of CFL players they are bringing into camp. -

Walters (and famously other GM's) have been pretty clear at what their line is for paying receivers, right or wrong. Walters has scoffed at Lawler's price tag twice, and pretty publicly with detailed interviews. I can't see any head coach being happy about losing Lawler. But I know MOS has an irrational belief in his staff and what he's built. Including the personnel department who have been pretty terrible on the American side basically since 2022. -

the superstars we should be playing are playing elsewhere.....firstly we should have never let Kenny walk....just look what he's doing in Ham....Janarion Grant was another one ...We don't have a returner as far as I'm concerned ...We should have rid ourselves of Thomas and used a rook, then used the cash to keep one of them AND what was wrong with keeping Biggie around and be a mentor for our guys, instead of helping the team who has buried us in 2 games this season...This club is astonishing me with blunder after blunder.....then we wonder why we're in the position we're in now -
Crazy. All the players said Comrie was damn near pro but turns out he sucks. lol. These guys really do like him I guess.

Oh you are correct. However not too many MOPs or MVPs in any leagues from losing teams. -

Award is for outstanding play, not mvp. His team’s record shouldn’t matter. He’s the front runner right now imo. -

If he can get them to top 2 in the East perhaps. I agree that he's played well and has the stats but its hard to see the MOP being from a team with a losing record. To be clear, I think you're right he is deserving. -

So who are the superstars we should be playing instead of some guys. Who is the last dressed Canadian and American like it matters. The problem is some of the starters. Here’s the thing. A few were signed to new contracts this off season. Kyrie. Jake. Schoen. Even Willie and a guy like Sergio. Yes we let BA and AB walk or limp away but we kept more than we let go. All these guys (not Schoen or Sergio) but they all have fallen off. Bonds was good last year. Complete crap before injury this year. You could throw in Stan and Neufeld here also. Kolo is a joke. we have had 3 or 4 rookies come in and look good this year. Person. Woodbey. Allen and I’ll say Vanterpool cuz 1 game. Let’s say Vaval. He’s been a find and a better returner than Logan who should be released either way along with Jake and Kyrie and maybe even Tony Jones who has been ok if you like lots of tackles but most those tackles are after yards gained. calgary replaced something like 24 players from last year. We picking up elks and stamps cast offs and thinking we gonna get better lol. -

Great to see Pokey returning...that'll give us a lift....Now if Houston can be inserted next game, it should help with coverage and maybe get back to our winning ways....I know we are going to be loud and that'll help... and lord knows we need all the help we can get -

and you can see why.....poor roster management and in this last particular game, how do we take a 'too many men' at a critical time of the game and another 'no end' call...Just bull$hit penalties that shouldn't happen and cost us..This game was winable BUT in a close game like that was, taking dumb penalties are costly ... and they were -

How do we know Osh didn't think he had the horses at receiver to survive without Lawler? He probably did as he's not the best at evaluating talent. The 2 do work as a team. Besides, Osh has a lot of influence. Probably more than other Head Coaches.
