  2. Call me a hater but I think Maier is extremely mediocre. He Didn’t even look good in Saskatchewan with a stacked offense.

  6. Absolutely sick about Vanderbeek... Only 48. Had 6 kids at home. ******* cancer...
  7. I don't think Dinwiddie is either. I could see a trade where Brown goes to the Argos for Kelly. And Nick Arbuckle is on the Argo roster as well. being a backup again can't be sitting too well with him, either. Could there still be a 3 way trade with the Bombers, Argos & RedBlacks as 3DN suggested earlier this off season?
  8. Robson was the original Canucks announcer on CBC HNIC in October of 1969. A position he held for decades. The Canucks very first game ever was televised at the Pacific Colliseum. They were considered Western Canada's team until the WHA merger came along in 1979 with the Jets & Oilers joining the league & the Flames in 1981.
  9. Overall it's probably not too bad for their QB room - they got Dru to take a paycut so they had room to be aggressive in FA. I also don't think Dinwiddie is 100% sold on Dru yet so he wanted to make sure they had the best possible back-up they could get. He's been saying good things about Dru & has declared him their starter but also said they would be exploring all options.

  11. Daaaammmmnnnnn.gif I like Allen. I think that is a pretty good move. Maier is a drastic overpay, but I get it. They have an injury concern with Brown, and we don't have good back-ups available. They overpaid for what they thought was the best option at the most important position. I wonder how much Greg Bell is making; that seems questionable to me. I'd rather put that money into OL and not overpay at RB. I like the talent he brings, but in 2 seasons, he has 2 100-yard plus games and 2 20 carry or more games. He hasn't hit 200 or 190 carries in a year either. He's a grinder and not a home run hitter, who hasn't shown he can sustain the grind. Similar to Oullette, but a better pass catcher for sure. If I am going to break the paradigm of pay for RBs, it's gotta either be a Canadian or a game-changing home run hitter.
  12. I would have paid any amount for Allen I think. He's an unreal player, Canadian or not.
  13. Stupid Cancer (there's going to be a spike in use of a specific meme) https://www.tmz.com/2026/02/11/james-van-der-beek-dead/
  14. 100 percent would take a flyer on him. If he is even 80 percent of the player he was before our receiving core looks dangerous.
  15. 100% worth a shot. Even if we are going to 3 ni wrs, still an excellent guy to bring into camp. Now that we have the majority of the holes filled in the roster its time to add in camp gambles like that.
  16. Apparently Ottawa is paying big money this year in free agency.....
  17. Now here's a question as a flier who could be had on a very affordable deal, and if not showing former ability easily cut Malik Henry...still young at 29...was just coming into his own and should be totally healed now from the Achilles (2 yrs post surgery looked good on Hatcher) and the patellar injury isn't a career ender by any means.....is a legit returner as well. Taking a flier on him could be a huge win, on a legit big play guy, and if he looks damaged still.....you cut him...

  19. Way back, when I was considering retirement, my brother, who was in the RCMP at that time, told me about this beautiful former mining community in BC that was literally giving away modern homes as the mine had run out and people were abandoning the town and their homes. I briefly considered moving to Tumbler Ridge, but decided that it was too remote. Thank God.
  20. It is certainly hard to succeed and grow on offense when the offense itself is bad. Even more so as a wr when the pass game is awful. That said, Imo, Rando took a huge stepforward, Vanterpool even in just 6 games, and Peterson in even fewer. The numbers aren't tremendous either, but I think Clercius stepped up more. In the exact same situation the year prior, but as a rookie, Wilson took the step Wheatfall did not as a 2nd year guy. Wheatfall was the No. 1 guy with both qbs and various offensive pieces around him. He had 2 games where he was arguably a no. 1 level of performance. The first two weeks of the year. As opportunities grew for him, he wilted. Now it's a very smart gamble for him and Hamilton. Low risk, high reward on an experienced young imp wr. For me, he looks like an anti-Bailey type. None of the effort and heart, none of the bounce back from adversity. With better measurables by a good margin. And I am prone to favor measurables and skills over character and intangibles. But Wheatfall for me was a big old red flag guy. I wish him well, and he might put up great numbers, who knows? But I didn't like what I saw.
  21. Ottawa paid Allen 240-250k? Cdn starters are raking it in
  22. BUT....who was chucking to him...and who was drawing up scheme?...he did put up 655 yards in a neutered offence...on 16 games...a couple of which we threw the ball what less than 15 times?...and had horrible QB play all darn yr.....I can see him getting 1000 in the Hammer And who took any of their game to next level last yr in our offence?...he was a yr 2 player....not like he been languishing around for yrs
  23. If he improves a bit he could be a 1000 yard guy, but its hard to imagine him doing that on a good team/passing offence imo.
  24. I don’t think he’s a thousand yard guy. He’s a deep threat receiver who has a hard time tracking the ball, he’s going to be responsible for just as many interceptions as he does for big plays, I mean hey Hamilton is a good place for him to go to but he had every opportunity to take his game to the next level here and simply couldn’t.
  25. It's pretty sparse. Ulm, DeMontagnac will probably come north right away. If they look reasonably decent at pro day's/combines they'll probably be gone in the top 10 picks. There's a solid guy on Laurier who will be at the combine. The rest of the combine guys aren't huge prospects but might make themselves into one. There's also a random guy from Texas with Canadian parents who has never played in college.
  26. Which receivers do you like in the draft?

  28. Biggest fear with how this off-season is playing out is that we'll DI 3 American LB's and totally ignore pass rush/any kind of versatility or diversity of looks on O and depth in the secondary. We have some pretty tough depth needs that people will overlook losing guys like Gauthier, Hallett if they aren't coming back. We probably should be replacing them but we haven't. Smith, Shay at LB, Ball and Kelly at DB (think Kelly failed the test big time even as a fill in on D last year)....not much strong depth at DL. OL is real weak for Canadians. Clercius, Corcoran are just bodies. Not many routes they are winning and we're built to require 3 Canadian receivers because of our OL. Need a big draft.
  29. yeah....dont understand the Clercius deal...maybe he was hurt....but he did nothing wrong to get demoted, and his work outside of catching balls cant be discounted....If we just go 2 Cdn recievers there no way Corcoran should be on roster with Demski..Clercius..Neild...Cobb....and if he is...Osh needs a good swift kick to the plums...as he does zippo on teams...cant return...and sucked ass in the role that Clercius and Woli before him did MCI as well is an ace in the hole...legit as legit can be for talent and athleticism....but wayyyyy under used...dare I say not used Maybe a good thing cause if the 3 stooges from the RIder's got looks (KSB/Lenius/Ajou) then MCI with any tape would have too...and likely stuck...Those 3 got a look cause how they "looked"...MCI looks even more the part...and his measurables blew all 3 of them right out of the water and wasnt even close Hopefully this yr Condell see's the benefits of his use.
  30. That would be sick, I'm hoping we go 3 canadians. And hoping that the last game demotion of clercius wasn't us getting stupid with the roster again. If Corcoran ever starts again %^&$ should hit the fan. The old Rod Black-Out. Yep. And the good news is, currently, we look to be better at every single position group save for QB and RB. And we might end up better at QB once camp rolls by. Rb, well, it would be damn hard to improve on that. If MCI starts putting it together, though, watch out. If he had like a 400-500 yards rushing at 5 per and 100-ish receiving yards, with his size, athleticism, and already much improved blocking, he would be NFL-bound.
