  3. That's how I see it too. Think Perkins is the guy you go to as the #2 option now, how long depends on how quickly (assuming he does) Elgersma develops.

  5. I'm invested in good OL play. Nothing more. Eli missed two blocking assignments during the game. Are you suggesting that was a figment of my imagination? C'mon man. I want Eli to do well, he needs to sharpen his pencil and that has nothing to do with anything I've said about him in the past. The proof is in the pudding. I absolutely believe Eli is good enough, what I'm seeing is not a lack of natural ability but brain cramps that need to be rectified. Perkins, does have a better command of the offence but yea...not the strongest passer out there. I have no doubt that Elgersma is the better QB in time, but right now not so much. That could change quickly given TE's natural abilities. Just needs to get used to things.
  6. All I ever see from Smith is making plays. Be criminal not to give him reps. Do you not want Canadian play makers?
  7. Holm Boi qualifies too...Smith starting at WIL would not hurt us in the least and he would only just get better and better....Thats how you develop...game reps at game speed, and he already shown he has that down...no he needs to just stack reps Griffin at SAM too is gonna really make us a tough defence.....and Woodbey is just gonna keep getting better and better...which is such a bonus cause he already is really good Yeah....of we start 3 ot has to be Demski...and Clercius and Neild in the slot...Clercius in his reps at slot showed he is more than capable and offers us a lot there...getting him rolling in space with the ball he is gonna be punishing to DB's and later in a game they gonna be nicely tenderized...If we start 3 and the 3rd is Corcoran outside...somebody needs to be shot But ideally 3 imports and 2 Canadians with Clercius/Demski/Neild as your main 3 is our best lineup...Songer right now has to be the front runner, and his return ability has to be an ace in hole for him too....Dude looks like a return TD on the making...Looks better than Vaval did early on camp last yr, and look what he did
  8. Let's be honest, you're so invested in the argument that Eli hasn't played before because he's not good enough you're not budging off that position any time soon. I am not sure if Perkins has a better command of the offense, but what he has is more pro experience and is more comfortable out there at game speed. Just a shame the guys arm is meh.
  9. He also seems healthy for the first time in a long time. Im sure he will bounce back from the last two years, just a question of what is his current top level of performance. I think his peak performance capability is something like the early 2ks tier QBs. Sporadic high passing yards out put, high 2 and out count, lots of tds, close to the same amount of pics.
  10. Start Smith and using the naturalized american spots. Kyrie, WJ, Moxey, Ceresna, and Nichols all qualify on D for naturalized spots. That way we save a DI at lber, dl or db. Idk if punters have value in this league at all any more. I doubt it. I do expect 1 of each on the PR to start, I think you're right there. I think the only none vet imp WR who would be worth playing so far is Singer. Can we start 3 canadian wrs? Crippling talent pool for sake of ratio has never stopped us before.
  11. pretty easy to roster 2 import interior guys....pretty much we always do that...and with the talent we have in Canadians outside of a DT we can rotate in, we dont need to actually have an extra Canadian DT on roster...especially one who gets owned over and over...Could care less how much he hustles in practice and tries hard

  15. Yeah TUI hardly repped at Center....I not concerned there...I think they wanTed to see ELSBURY....Hopefully they saw enough....not good to touch on the Shay comments here...Shay shouldn't be at SAM...he's a MLB thru and thru....doing him a diservice forcing him there. ...he's really good on teams and his roster spot is safe....I hope this yr we realize that we can backfill the roster with the depth/ST guys but actually use the guys who canin a pich tale a few reps, and have the potential to push for reps, as opposed to use these ST only guys with zippity dodah for upside....High upside guys can play ST too...a lot of times better than the ST only sluggos...

  19. How would we get Fletcher on the AR? He may be better than Kornelson but it's a ratio issue on how to do that. The Canadians that can rotate on defence doesn't change that dilemma. I predicted both rookie kickers would go to the PR to start the season. Does Sheehan have trade value? I don't see 2 punters on the roster at the same time. We'll see who does most of the punting in the next game. I agree we CAN'T have 3 Canadian receivers starting. Not much to choose for a 3rd import except for Singer who played well. I didn't get the impression we're planing on a 3 import OL so that frees up making Singer a starting receiver. When has making sense played into some of O'Shea's choices. Injured previously or not, it's a short practice week and final cuts this weekend.
  20. Weird. But in my opinion Fletcher looked legit, moved real well and could be a real good inside and outside guy...he just looked polished and really well coached previously He was knicked but battled thru it for a good week, so maybe they wanted to free up roster space to see some guys and were gonna bring him back when he was a bit more healthy...And prob a good thing cause other than Lawson, what we saw on the inside of the DL was a whole lotta crap and none of the guys should be getting any reps of any significance this next game...let alone make the roster...I fear tho Korn gonna make it cause he Canadian, But with the way Smith played...again...Kramdi here...Gatkouth who did some real nice work for first game, and Bailey who also is a gem of an end, we dont need a crappy Canadian DT to sub out with to meet the 2 Canadians on the field on defence, or if injury...Especially if we use the Nationalized American as well. We have so much Canadian rotation available on defence who can really ball out...we dont need to waste a spot on Korn...christ he been already cut what...like 3 times?... And gotta say again..Jaylen Smith needs to play...a ton...as he gonna just get even better. Should have been already last yr I'd be shocked as well if the oline isnt Bryant...Wallace..Eli..Neuf and Broxton...Elsbury didnt impress and as an Import you need to be exceptional at worst to justify that ratio move. And he wasnt...not even close...And man not sure what with Vpool but he looked lost and awful too...He better crank it up or could see him gone. Back to ratio....we cant run 3 Canadian WR as we dont have the talent, and ZC needs weapons....Sure Corcoran made a nice catch....but he isnt a top level Candian let alone starter. Fredrickson shouldn't get any work next game...and should be cut really....dud...nobody outside of White..Clercius and Singer from last game should feel safe...I do wanna see TJ Davis featured a bit more next game, as there is something there in my opinion but not gonna see it targeted 1 or 2 times, and playing with and against a bunch of guys who aint gonna be around in a week Another note...That other Aussie can boom the ball....Does Osh have the onions to part ways with one of his pets/..of he dials it up again next week...and shows some nice positional kicking....I'd keep a giy who can kick you outta trouble like that
  21. Baffling moves by this club at times....BUT Womacks situation would/could be injury related....Sometimes I think it would be better to consult AI regarding player movement ,,,,might have a better outcome
  22. Yes, but to be fair. He's bounced back from consecutive bad years before. So the question is, can he do it again?
  23. It has to have been injury related, otherwise it just doesn't make sense.
  24. Avs win four straight, Knights can go F themselves, hockey universe balance has been restored. Amen.
  25. Today
  26. Unless it's injury related (and I think it was in Womack's case, but not sure about the two DL), bringing back our cuts after not giving them a look in the pre-season game is a bit embarrassing and just shows our lack of ability to really know what we're valuing when we scout players.
  27. 2 cuts already. Javier who had a couple real bad moments and Battle. We brought back recent cuts WR Womack, Dl Arnold and Fletcher. A bit surprised we are cycling through our own cuts already, but the NFL pre camps probably have every one down south in a holding pattern
  28. And now it seems to be normal again...sorry Rich not trying to make your life difficult.
  29. He got burned at sam once, and that side did struggle in coverage late. But it was very much a group effort in coverage that failed. What I liked in what I saw was his kick cover and physicality were really good again. I think he's a bit out of place as a sam tbh. He has the athleticism, but doesn't have near the polish dropping back that frequently into coverage. I think he'd be much better off at wil/mac or backing up Kramdi at S. Though he could well develop into a great ratio breaking sam at some point, but its one of the hardest positions to adjust to for guys who are pure cover players. Zach is gonna rub off on him a lot, already seems to be happening. Elgersma was aggressive, and thats not bad. But he did fail to pick up post snap coverage adjustments and didn't take what the D gave him. It is good that he didn't wilt though. Id like to see him learn to play more with in the system and work medium to long range rather then deep to short, but we might be hard up for that to happen with no QB coach and Zach as the incumbent. I think year 2 Elgersmas' floor will be very high. And his ceiling is tremendous. Nailed it. He made the best of a bad spot, took what he could and used his legs when he needed to. His run-throw processing was better then I expected and saw in the UFL. It is a small sample size, but its easy to see why the other 2 qbs fled town. I expect Perkins to be QB2 and Elgersma to be QB1. for 1, the defence gets more out of prepping with perkins running scout team then Elgersma. For another, his experience in terms of preparation as a professional is extremely valuable. He also provides an instant change of pace if zach has to come out, and we can continue with a streveler pack based around short yardage/heavy set and hurry up with perkins. I'm bullish on Vibert, but he wasn't great in the first game. He did play mostly Guard, and he wasn't bad, but he didn't pop off the page either. I expect him to get a lot more reps and some time at C in game 2. Shays ' teams play comes from a great instinctual athletic ability to flow to the ball. He shows that on D, but its still raw compared to Smith.
  30. Be nice to see Elgersma with actual CFL WR's and not just a bunch of rookies.
  31. Yeah, I was encouraged by what both qbs showed. I think perkins has a lower ceiling but a very high floor, which should allow Elgersma time to develop to his lofty potential. I'm pretty excited to see both in game two as well. I don't know how we could not look at Andrews, or why we would draft him if he played like that and didn't get strong consideration. Last years punter was a better leg then Sheahan, but Andrews looks like his leg should be in the NFL. He had that monster field position flipping punt but he also had some strong hang time and smoked a few long ones. Yeah it was. Singers a good one, I kind of expect him to sit on the PR and develop at first, but he's talented.
  32. Yep. Plus a little bit of a miraculous physical recover fro zach from more than a couple concussions. Makonzo retires in toronto. Guy just couldn't get/stay healthy. Such a shame.
  33. Back then Thompson was good. On the other side, this is not good. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/article/maple-leafs-f-domi-out-indefinitely-following-complications-from-surgery/
