More details on the picks from Tait and Walters Winnipeg Blue BombersWalters: Blue Bombers CFL Canadian Draft takeaways - Winn...All across the Canadian Football League today GMs, head coaches and personnel types are still riding the post CFL Canadian Draft high. There are high-fives and fist bumps galore and the usual euphoriaOn Daniels they want him to cut weight and play that spot that Tui did in the heavy sets. Be a blocker and more of threat to catch a pass.

  9. So between last night's first pick and today's first pick, did we take the new Kongbo and Hansen?
  10. This one confuses me. Why wasn't Benn e-transferred $2,604.17 for doing us all a favor. Weird. What a topsy turvy world we live in.
  11. The nature of pro sports is what was old gets revived again sooner or later. Daniels, if he pans out, could give the Bombers the old-fashioned tight end who could block on running plays and smoke d-backs on short/screen plays and be a threat as a receiver. A receiver of that size in full flight would cause many clenched sphincters among 170lb defenders.
  12. Let's not be hasty. We should make sure we have Goalie's replacement in the new member pipeline before we cut him. Don't want to pull a Mike Kelly and replace Goalie with Stefan Lefors!
  13. Time to part ways with under performing fans.
  14. I'm sorry but we're going to have to let you go.
  15. 10 of 18 picks were a punter or kicker. Toronto really only team to not take a kicker or punter as they go 2 OL.
  16. Vesterinen off to Vikings mini camp. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4709393/edward-vesterinen Converting the punter to oline maybe. Christ he’s a big boy. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/5218672/keegan-andrews

  18. So of the 2 linebackers who is likely to fill the Gauthier special teams role better. I like the DB. Nice size there. Also turns out the kicker is a punter also. DE was best available DLine so I’m good there. Mini camp with Denver. Cline was nice. Was hoping for a futures pick and he’s a solid one. I actually hoped we’d grab another futures pick but guess not. You never know. Puke but liked Sasks approach.
  19. I think this is a fair assessment. 2nd round was higher ceiling. 3rd and 4th rounds are where there is a much higher quantity of medium ceiling guys. But much more likely to carve out a role as a depth guy.
  20. Smaller end zones creates demand for guys like Daniel's particularly as a NAT. He is likely to be utilized as a situational player and w What a bizarre, but atypical comment to make. You think you know who or how our drafting is conducted? Of course, coaches submit wish lists to GM and scouts. After that scouts and GMs conduct their picks according to needs and availability. The point is that even in a one minute video one would have to be oblivious to not see that this was very much a GM and scouts decision. Did MOS have something to add that wasn't in that video? Maybe, but it is nonsense to criticize people for understanding that the one minute video the Bombers released they wanted to send the message that this was KW and the scouts being very high on a guy.
  21. This will be a draft where the fourth round picks will be better than the second. Pace, Stuart, Parks and Odenwinge all had better tape. The second round guys seem to be alot of, I like that guy's athleticism or size.
  22. This change is purely a money grab from the people who come to games now. It's a bit about the future, put mainly about the now.
  23. ITis always the GM's show on draft day....also genral recruitment and off-season signings...But like u mentioned there was input from all involved in that clip but also there was a lot more input pre and during actuial draft nobody saw...Osh said zip in that clip...But had a lot to say not on camera
  24. Teams cant feasibly sit more than 2...3 starters as it is financially, especially a team who has had a pile of injuries during the season that didnt land a big number of guys on full 6 game IR....I think this fear of seeing a pre-season lineup is a bit overblown actually
  25. What's the point of 18 games to eliminate one team? Show me real evidence that these changes are going to attract the 35 and under crowd.
  26. I've been thinking about it and while I don't think these are necessarily GREAT changes, they don't bother me as much as losing the 55 and moving the goal post back.
  27. Ya I've always been the one beating the drum that "Kyle, Osh and Wade are in lock step" and when they show the war room on draft night, you used to always see Wade in there with them. It's also fair to say that were taking a one minute clip and reading too much into that.... But man, it's a convincing one minute. As mentioned, I think it's fair to say that there's input from all people involved... But no question that it's "Kyle's Show" on draft night. Nice to see that he doesn't appear to be making unilateral decisions... Asked for everyone's input before "making the call".
  28. The Bomber fans will attend meaningless games because the experience at the game is great for all sorts of ages. The problem is that this only benefits Winnipeg and maybe Regina. It may get a better tv deal because of more games... but will the tv audience increases when 3 weeks out of the play offs the Argos sitting in 4th place are resting all of their star players and the B team is trotted out getting pounded by the #1 Blue Bombers? Will people in Toronto want to attend the game in person when they have a bazillion other options for entertainment. I know its apples and oranges.. but the UFC has a mega tv deal which is great for the company right now. However the product is suffering massively and they are having huge issues selling tickets and getting people to watch the product either when it was PPV or now on free tv. The product being diluted eventually will come back to bite the league in the butt. As I said before... this only works if they get more teams and the only way that happens is US expansion.
  29. as a former player...I have never seen or know of a player playing to not win...and the ones who loafed cause a game apparently meant nothing, or half arsed it didnt hang around long. nobody likes to lose even of it's a meaningless game....or even pre-season, as for attendance....season ticket sales are what they are and 1st game...last game...its the same net revenue...as for walk ups....more fan friendly weather for the last few games of the yr, may actually have more people in the stands...as it is and has been...a lot of late season games that had meaning in a lot of places were not attended as well, soley based on weather....And to have the Grey Cup earlier and more than likely avoiding for most part sub -15 or worse temps....who's opposed to that?
  30. I doubt weather was a determining factor for these changes as you pointed out...It's really about revenue but how many fans are going to show up to meaningless games ....when nothing is left to gain. so in turn the club proceeds to give a half-hearted effort... Fans will get turned off affecting the numbers at the gate...This will be closely watched to see how much revenue is actually gained.....We shall see
  31. Obviously O’Shea has some say, obviously but it’s quite apparent Kyle and the scouts are running the draft. I’m sure Osh has input but to pretend he lobbied for a dude who he prob never saw play or even at the combine cuz broski wasn’t there is crazy talk. Also interesting to note they brought in Britton for a private workout. He did not play last season at all. Heck of a 2024 tho.
