  1. Past hour
  2. Houston has exerience in league....knows the players and the standard sets in the CFL and has familiarity with basically most our defense so if anything thats a plus Has he evolved his game and is more cerebral about his approach and picks a better time to gamble?....we shall see.....I really don't recal his CGY performance tho....did he reign it in a bit there? Dandy I also agree...why he was let go is beyond me....other than the typical Osh tendency to keep hold overs even if not the best choice....and brings a lil more physicality too which is needed Imagine if from game 1 we had dressed Person....Allen...say a Dandy, had Schmeck from game one as opposed to the what in the hell Korn rostering...Even J.Jones tho he still gets limited reps....how much further along we could be on defenc with cohesion and guys getting reps/experience
  3. Good move on Houston.... we have no problem, as it seems the altercation with his wife wasn't what had actually transpired...His penchant for 'show boating' which raised the ire of a few, is overcome by his talent as a pretty good db...something this club is in dire need of....Too bad we couldn't keep Cooley....someone will pick him up...Like the Petersen kid though....he has the tools and has a good future in the league.....Hopefully he sticks around
  4. I do have my own database. It's the CFL's play by play and then my charting going back to 2015. I used to have access to the CFL's play-by-play database. It was gone after the switch to Genius, and I'm working at learning how to access their stuff. In the meantime I rip each game's play by play PDF into various Excel files. From there I work on charting, field goals, punting, 2nd/3rd downs, run game, expected vaule of field position...a whole bunch of things that I think have value for future discussions.
  5. he could possibly be a good player, if he reigned in his gambling he’d have a chance. If he hasn’t gotten past the reckless play he’s gonna be another bridges. The league has seen plenty of db injuries, and no one else has brought him in. I like Dandy coming back. he was one of the guys that should’ve stuck in camp. Sucks that cooley is gone, but we can barely make use of brady, and peterson has shown he has legit talent. wouldn’t mind if cooley is back in camp if he doesn’t get picked up. Im glad we’ve made moves, i wish we brought in more wrs though. that’s a bigger hole than db.
  6. He takes some chances. I don’t mind him fighting for a job we need some help in the secondary with the injuries. He has a lot to prove fighting for a job so you hope best case scenario he comes in hungry and plays smart, worst case scenario he doesn’t cut it and he’s off the roster. Low risk move in my opinion.
  7. Except for his tendency to go for the flashy play instead of making the tackle or knockdown.
  8. Have no issues with us bringing in Houston. I was the first to say I was ok letting him go to Calgary for the big money contract. With our injury issues I’m more than ok letting him fight for a job. He’s a good player.
  9. With Collaros functioning im "limp home" performance mode, do you think that even Lawler would be thriving this year? Highly doubtful.
  10. Go back and read the off-season thread. Just about everyone on the board said it sucks to lose Lawler but no way he’s worth the $300k Hamilton paid him.
  11. Yeah ice cold. Demski has 12 more yards in the last 2 games. Don't be surprised when Lawler gets cut this week for his cooled off production.
  12. Since Schoen first got injured in 2023 he's averaging 3.5 games a season. With approximately 350 receiving a 1TD total. Lawler is averaging 10 games a season. With approximately 1500 receiving and 12 TDs total. Those stats are not even comparable, Lawler has been the superior, healthier and more reliable player. Lawler is more valuable and should have been signed. Walters dropping the ball yet again.
  13. Today
  14. He’s got an arm. That one deep shot into quadruple coverage was pretty funny though
  15. Max for first two seasons is $85,000 including bonuses for 1st-4th round CFL Draft Picks.
  16. Lawler has averaged 11 games a season since the shortened 2021 season. This is the first season he's been healthy/not in trouble since then.
  17. That's fine, I will agree to disagree. If Schoen had always been mostly healthy maybe I'd be on your side. But with his extensive injury history, it wouldn't have even been a real decision.
  18. Houston regardless of charges dropped and expunged meaning dudes innocent, I mean in America the dude is always guilty and this dude was found innocent and so innocent it’s like the courts said it never even happened, there’s no record of it, regardless, dudes just meh. Maybe a motivated Houston is good tho. dandy is a nice one. He was aggressive in pre season. Stood out that way. Was surprised he was let go honestly. Cooley. Good luck dude.
  19. @JuranBoldenRules didn't the CFL change the rule regarding Canadian draft picks that get signed in the NFL? Is there is still a restriction on how much they can sign for with the CFL team that drafted them?
  20. Morgan looked a lot more dangerous to me as a passer than Evans.
  21. I much prefer schoen to Lawler but that's me. Lawler can be amazing, but some games he wasn't amazing. We can debate schoen coming off the injury and whether he was ready or not but I'd have picked schoen over Lawler too.
  22. Dandy was great in pre-season. Physical, aggressive to the ball. Looked like a guy who has the skill set to play boundary corner in Canadian Football.
