For a guy that wants to be seen as an "involved father", he sure is ignorant.

Well they could always deny entry if people don't want to show their electronics.

For non Americans. But citizens enter by right so they’d have a hard time denying them entry.   This ruling would seem to indicate they can’t even ask without a warrant or probable cause.

I hope they catch the ass

and apparently today is the shooter's 16th birthday.

Ontario hunter Gino Meekis recorded videos of strange, loud, echoing howls in the woods that have left biologists scratching their heads.

He’d never “heard anything like this before,” he told CTVNews.ca in a phone interview. “It was more bass-y than anything I’ve heard scream before.”

Meekis, who lives near Sioux Lookout in northern Ontario, took the footage on Oct. 3 while he was hunting grouse with his wife and grandson. The young child can be heard appearing to mimic the strange noises.

The trio first heard the odd howling as they made their way back to their car at the end of the trail along the Vermilion River.

I have no idea what the hell that is, but having spent a lot of time over the years not far from there (the Vermilion Bay area), it's rather unsettling - and absolutely terrifying.

Government should be ashamed

And so should that one security guard.

Yup! The gov't has let this garbage fester for way, way too long. It's sickening. The really scary part is fed up citizens who may take things into their hands with vigilante justice. But it is what it is.

This is beyond horrible.

Government should fire the head of the LC over this.  Its absurd.  They blamed the media for making things worse when the LC did nothing to try and stop the escalating robberies and violence.

Easy solution on day one was to increase security (and review their contract because they seem to be using the lower end minimum wage guards).  Add additional guards (in the video there appears to be ONE guard and if that's the case, its ridiculous...regular robberies occurring and they allow a guard to work alone??).  Hire premium security with experience in dealing with these scenarios, well versed in self defence, their legal rights and conflict resolution, equipped to do their jobs (vests, cuffs, radios with panic buttons, gloves, mag lights etc), support to do their job (none of this "no intervening" BS).

One day one, they could have required photo ID to enter with a video system to record the ID like at numerous bars.

Within a short period of time, they could have retrofitted stores to include a secure locked foyer where ID is scanned before being allowed into the locked inner store.

If not already the case, include numerous HD cameras, visible to everyone inside & outside, with large, clear signage indicating their presence.

You could have outdoor security as well, in marked vehicles doing vehicle and foot patrols (never alone, at least in pairs).  This could potentially be cost shared with other stores in the complex.

Basically, hire any bar manager to run the security and all these things would have been done within 30 days of the problem being identified.

Some local news that's good: https://www.chrisd.ca/2019/11/21/manitoba-golden-boy-100-years/

WINNIPEG — Manitoba’s iconic Golden Boy is turning 100 today.

It’s been a century since the roughly 17-foot statue first adorned the roof of the Manitoba Legislative Building as one of the province’s most-recognized landmarks.

“The statue is positioned to face north and symbolizes the province’s prosperity and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Central Services Minister Reg Helwer.

As for the LC... Its ridiculous for sure. I cant blame security.. They are told to not interfere, they dont carry weapons cuz they dont have the training... Perhaps tasers would help.. Very high voltage ones...

But, the thing they are doing now? Definitely a smart long over due thing.. Its done in the US actually and results are tremendous..

But also.. The police need more money because having 1 cop at each LC in the city would end it also.

The Justice system is also to blame here but thats a whole different topic.

Also.. Lets be honest here.... Its also a race thing, people will prob get offended and Ticat like but..

The liquor store crap has gone on far to long. These people were staying  out of there way and they still get attacked.
