Bombers FA Signings 2016

Better than in the all-CFL thread.....

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International offensive lineman Manase Foketi.

Foketi (6-6, 310, West Texas A&M, September 18, 1990 in Hesperia, CA) signed as an undrafted free agent with Denver in 2013. He spent part of 2014 with the Buffalo Bills on their practice roster, and was with the Saints through the 2014 preseason. Foketi played collegiate football at West Texas A&M, and attended the Blue Bombers mini-camp in Florida in 2014.

BC's got some big guys, including a 6'2" up and comer named Terrence Jeffers-Harris, who might be a keeper.

  • I believe the riders turned an even deeper shade of green (envy) when Andrew decided to come home...Sask. wanted him bad, and if you read any of their comments about the time Harris was available, the

  • I think you are going to stay blue in the ballz department. I have my doubts he shows up here this year. Maybe next year if he can't get a nibble.

Got a question....

If we are starting 8 NATs (likely Harris, Goossen, Chungh, Neufeld, Kohlert, Westerman, Shologan & Bucknor)...

... how many should be the import INTLs (DIs)..., 5 or 6?

With Dressler, Smith and Denmark...have to think we might have the best receiving corps we've seen in a while.

Sure would be nice if Richards steps up this year or we draft one out of a solid draft class...

Im not sure how many DIs we get. I think +1 per extra NI but im not sure.

At this point im hoping goossen is starter ready but im kind a worried about him and his progression. Neufeld is healthy about as often as matt sherridan is slim too.

As for WRs, this is easily the best they've been in ages going into camp. Really excited to see some of the young guys step up too. I think thats gonna be the best battle in camp.

The signing of E. Cummings makes for an interesting battle at DT...the way Richie Hall mixes up the front line should be interesting.

We still need a DE opposite Westerman though...why not bring Alex Hall back?

Gotta imagine Johnny Patrick is going to be in the running for Demond's open spot.

Yea...it's either HB or SAM imo. From what I've read he's really good in run support and is a Johnny Sears type DB. Good piece of recruiting, whether he makes the team or not. He's the type of player we should be looking at.

I imagine there should be some releases soon.  I'm too lazy to count but this should put us above the TC roster limit, shouldn't it?

I've seen Patricks's college highlights..... Has some decent speed, but I'm guessing he would be the most flagged should he make the roster.   WOuld be fflagged for PI or IC a lot (based on the highlights)

Some real good rookies in this crop. Hope they bring it at camp. Like both of these guys.

Don't forget we still have mini camp and rookie camp until that roster limit is in effect.

Then again they could just release Bryant Turner and Clarence Denmark to get back below the roster limit.

I guess from this point forward, for every guy the Bombers brings in, there will be one guy in the current roster will get cut.

If your salary goes up the expectations are your production better as well. Produce or perish

hearing @Wpg_BlueBombers have released WR Clarence Denmark and DT Bryant Turner - salary cup moves @cfl

Damn that salary cup allways getting in the way.

It doesnt allways have to go up, you have to atleast maintain a similar level of play. Cant drop off as bad as turners did.

Salary cup. I can't my head around this. A cup for salary. I don't drink my salary although I know guys who have.

Yeah older guys who get paid get cut eventually. Coaches get fired eventually. Now we get to get excited about the next guy/s.

Maybe its a new diet thing. celery cup.

Would love to resign denmark for less and have him as the 3rd wr but i doubt that happens. Id say wr becomes a much more interesting spot in camp. DT less so.

Rycraw: 5'9" 205lbs,  went undrafted but had try out at least with Green Bay;

based on his clips in the above link by M.O.A.B and this one, he looks like he could be competing for returner?  seems shifty with some speed
