Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

One major difference.. Stanley is actually an ok ok player.. He was just drafted 2 early. Probably could have got him in the 2nd RD.

Tebow was just a system QB.

Its weird... Of all people... The guy who craps on Tiny Toby isnt a fan of Logan " The Anti Toby" Stanley? Weird.

I think he’s probably just a fan of good defencemen instead of bad ones

Enstrom is a good D man... Especially if you like D men who are good at D.. So no... Its cuz hes small.

No he was a good 2nd-3rd pairing dman  who the jets played in their top pairing...

big difference is that Stuart is gone and enstrom is getting less ice time and no special teams...

I love it when people tell me what my opinions are.  So awesome.

I'm not a fan of Enstrom because he coughs up the puck so easily.  He's a weak player.

As for me "crapping" on Stanley, thanks for reacting, I honestly didn't know my opinion was so valuable that it's causing discussion on here.  I have only watched him play once live  - in Penticton - and he was awful.  That was awhile ago.  I caught a Kitchener game on Sportsnet a few months ago and he didn't look nearly as bad.  Mostly I am slagging Stanley because I know it causes certain posters here to go ape-poop.

Reality is - I saw Tyler Myers when he was a rookie with the Rockets.  He looked like Bambi on ice out there.  But he grew into his body.  I think Stanley can do the same.  I hope when he's 24 he's a total stud.

#NHLJets prospect Kristian Vesalainen scored his #Liiga leading 12th and 13th power play goal of the season as HPK lost to SaiPa 3-5. Vesalainen has 38 points and 19 goals in 41 games. #NHLfi

Armia 2.0 just surpassed Armia 1.0's 18 year old Liiga stats...

Chevy implied that they had Vesalainen at 12 before they traded down in the draft and were happy to see him still available when they picked.

Does he make the club next year?    Isn't he playing in a men's league right now?

I'd say he's Moose bound.  But since the Jets are playing in Finland, I'd assume the NHL would be pleased if he did make the club next year.

He plays in a men's league, yes.  He could make the Jets.  But I think it will be like Connor and Roslo where he gets sent to the Moose to acclimate rather then be a 3rd/4th line guy.

He needs to play in the AHL for a season, I think. No reason that he can't spend a year there, getting used to the speed.

Obviously, he'll have a chance to make the big club.

They said similar things last year right after drafting him.

I want to go to Finland and tell people I'm from Winnipeg and see what their reactions are

Laine, Veslainen, Niku, Armia (am I forgetting anyone?) ...if they are all in the line up for the Jets trip to Finland next season, that should be a lot of fun.  Maybe they can find a reason to honor Teemu at that game as well!

Regardless of what team he's on.... Vesalainen coming to Winnipeg next season.  No shocker.

We were warned about you.

Vesalaine is already a better prospect then anyone currently on the Moose, big, strong , very good skater, whats not to like. May start with the Moose to get accustomed to the N. A. game but in all probability will get called up during the season.

Backing away slowly with a confused and fearful look on their face....  calling it now.

if he does come over I may have to go to the Young Stars tournament this year.

I thought they were thinking of scrapping that tournament.

Maybe you could invite this guy along, as he is in line to be the new CIA station chief in Helsinki.

Jets did not have much luck in that tourney :)

Would he even play tho? Laine skipped it.

Your right about our success or lack of but I always enjoyed that tournament, I think Vesalaine would play, wasn't Laine playing in WHC.
