Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

Second level thinking, man. Advanced ****.

Lol.  No no I got that.  But he's not still recovering from minor knee surgery in 2016.

He got knee surgery in 2016, yes.  Then after he was healed up sufficiently, he got hip surgery.  Then he was healthy and suffered an unrelated lower body problem after 11 games in 2016-17, plus his family problems.  He was mostly healthy by the end of 2017 and was starting to skate.  So the fact that he's still "progressing" isn't really surprising.

Of course, that's some pretty sketchy injury history and your point still stands about there being questions on D.

So technically, we're debating about nothing?

Is your memory that short???  He got called up for 10 games at the end of last season.  2014 4th round pick.  RHD.

Bench him - we don't want good players hurt.

He was solid but... Hes not making the team out of camp. Needs another year or 2 in the A but good depth.

Yes.  He's in a battle to be the #1 call-up from the Moose, pending any free agent signings.

Yup. Him and Poolman.

Totally forgot about him. He was pretty good. I kept putting in his name for 1290's player o the game.

I'd imagine Connor stays at Michigan for at least next season. Chevy likely wants to space out those rookie deals and when guys reach RFA status.

He signed. He's in the Moose.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed restricted free-agent forward JC Lipon to a one-year, two-way contract worth US$650,000.

Logan Stanley has been traded by Windsor Spitfires to Kitchener Rangers.

so what will this mean for his future with the jets, I mean he's been traded to a different OHL team but you know what I'm not sure this will effect his future with the Jets much will it?

Nope. It doesnt. Its actually a good thing for him. He is going to get to play top pairing minutes with Kitchener. Jets probably were the ones who helped make this happen.

Yeah, no doubt McKenzie called to ensure that Stanley was not in the Jets plans for 2017/18.

This is great news for Stanley. Playing for Windsor, who was hosting the Memorial Cup was great for him last year, but the Rangers are a better team/organization.

Not that unusual for someone in his presumed last year of juniors to be traded?

Not unusual at all.  Happened with Josh Morrissey as well.

Windsor gets a lot of picks in the trade although there is a built in caveat that should Logan not play a game for the Rangers, the trade only includes a 15th round pick.
