  • Kohlert and Etienne have made as many plays as guys like Doug PIerce or Clarence Denmark have this year and Watson next to Edwards is probably the best receiver on the team anyway so I see no problems

  • and the whole "Imports are always better than Non-Imports" method of thinking is so outdated...

Morley and Pierce get their full salary for the year...

Really sucks about Kohlert... and Wild... like both of them.

Would have liked to see Peach a couple years ago... but not totally sure about now

LB depth McGee, Stephan and Sheffield... yikes...  Honestly would look at Stephan at Safety - he is pretty fast... but still really wondering about his durability

Kinda funny how Morley is healthy for 4 years straight then suddenly gets injured when he's not even playing.

As for the LB's, I'm sure Wild will play.  But at training camp, I thought Sheffield looked like our best new LB prospect, I think he may still factor in at some point.

Swiston got yanked in favour of Morley last week. Apparently he had two brutal whiffs on pass blocks and was taken out of the game.

Apparently?  It was brutal and like I said during the game chat .. I never thought I'd be saying this .. "But I'm glad Morley is in there right now".

LB Ian Wild — sick

DE Alex Hall — maintenance day

SB Terrence Edwards — maintenance day

CB Jovon Johnson — knee (day-to-day)

DT Zach Anderson — knee (will try to practise on Friday)

QB Buck Pierce — undisclosed (won’t play this week)

QB Max Hall — hand (will try to practise tomorrow)

WR Chris Matthews — foot (still out for a few more weeks)

SB Rory Kohlert — hamstring (out for at least a couple of weeks)

OL Steve Morley — knee (out for a month; having his knee scoped)

DB Demond Washington — hamstring (day-to-day)

OL Glenn January — sick

LB James Green — knee (unknown)

Wow, another hammie for Washington...  good thing Hef's gone right? (sorry, had to do it.)

Is Sears ever coming back?

How we didn't hire a Strength and Conditioning coach in the off-seson is beyond me...

Really?  I didn't notice.  That game put me to sleep halfway through

What are you talking about?  Alain Couture serves that role with the Bombers.

"Couture is also a Registered Massage Therapist through the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association"

Yeah, he got torched a couple times... but again, its just bizarre how Swiston gets a look at RT - and is not great but not terrible - and then Taormina gets half a season of bitchslapping... and now Swiston is moved to Guard and gets pulled without even two full games

Greaves was not that good when he was inserted last year... he's gone on to be at least decent.  Yeah, I am cheering for Swiston but I am having a hard time seeing our development strategy OL prospects...  If Swiston fails, we have Pencer in the pipe and no one else.

I mean Chris Kowalczuk is literally the next guy up... not good.

Our strategy for improving the OL has literally been "Do nothing and hope they get better."

Meanwhile Calgary had one of the better OL's last year and still had two new starters this year, who are even better than the old starters.  Something wrong with that picture

I just don't get why as a team we put emphasis on NI receivers the past couple of years, when we could have been drafting OL.

Far too many receivers drafted for my liking... especially when we drafted late round receiver prospects.

next week Penser will be out of the 9-game... i think

One more week.  But who knows whether they actually pull him off or not.

I know.

We have a staff of two athletic therapists  I still want a 'Strength and Conditioning' coach...  how is one more body going to hurt?  Whatever we are doing now is just not working.

I think Kowalczuk will be the #6 OL and team goes to Sask with a prayer that none of the starting OLs get injured Sunday.

Buck hurt = can't cut him = makes vet cutdown day = we pay him for the rest of the season = he isn't going anywhere until the off season at the earliest.  Same thing for Morley.

Can we 9 game Buck?

Can we 9 game Buck?

It would be the only nine game stretch Buck could fulfil.

It's a good idea.

Really though, we might as well suit Pencer up when he is eligible.  What is the harm in throwing him into the fire, get him some experience.  2 years on the IR and no playing time.

It's just football. Expect injuries. Last week Montreal had 9 starters out. Earlier this year Hamilton had 22 guys out.

I've always liked  Greg Peach so if they can snag him I say that is more than fine.

Agreed injuries happen... Its the number of hammies and re-injuries that is concerning.

Can we 9 game Buck?

I already know he's spend all 9 games on the sidelines staring at the field like a deer in headlights.  Which is no different than if he was standing behind the O-line.

Buck hurt = can't cut him = makes vet cutdown day = we pay him for the rest of the season = he isn't going anywhere until the off season at the earliest.  Same thing for Morley.

Yep, get rid of Buck. Please....

Can you 9-game a player, and then ask him to stay away from the team?

Yeah, I believe you can. I think that's what Montreal did to Anderson when he drove Marc Trestman nuts with his big mouth & attitude. They told him to stay away & not come back. He was paid in full but was barred from the Als facilities & suideline.

Goltz at least gives us a chance to win.  If nothing else they'll have to respect our run game.
